The Bobbi Brown stick foundation was my first purchase when I started exploring the brand. I bought it in a hot country, and it was recommended for its sweat-resistant properties. The application technique is to swipe it on thinly and then pat it in with a puff - a method I used frequently as a college student. The lightest shade, Porcelain, matched my bare skin tone perfectly, allowing for a natural-looking finish. The only downside was that after some use, the stick would suddenly pop out of the tube, which was quite frustrating. - vr********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 29, 2022
The natural radiance is absolutely amazing. It gives a subtle glow that looks just like my own skin. There's a slight darkening effect, but other than that, it's fantastic. It pairs perfectly with Bobbi Brown concealer. - k.*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 27, 2022
I'm updating my review after a month of use, and revising some of my initial negative points... I'm a foundation nomad, always on the hunt for the perfect one. My skin type is oily but dehydrated, sensitive, with noticeable pores (in other words, extremely finicky). I used to love the Isoi Cover Fit Pact for its great ingredients, but when it was discontinued, I went on a quest to find something equally good. After trying products like the Lab by Blanc Doux Cushion and the Sure Base Cushion with no luck, I spent three months dealing with dermatologist visits and extractions. But since using the Bobbi Stick Foundation, I haven't experienced any itching or tiny bumps. I'm not sure why, especially since I was wary of the talc. Maybe because I have oily skin, the solid formula works better for me. It seems cushions might not be ideal for acne-prone skin. The Isoi Cover Fit Pact I used before was also a solid foundation, and it kept my skin comfortable for 24 hours. Anyway, I've only been using the Bobbi Stick Foundation for a week, but here's what I love: - My skin feels incredibly comfortable (Note: I have very oily T-zone, so there's some breakdown there, but it's a pretty kind of breakdown!) - It's super easy to apply - I've even heard my skin looks much better since I started using it - The coverage is decent! It might not cover everything perfectly, but you can build it up to hide most imperfections (I've had a lot of extractions recently, so I have quite a few dark spots) - The design is beautiful and it's so portable I took off one star only because I've only used it for a week. Otherwise, it's great! Price? Well, considering it doesn't cause blemishes, the price isn't too bad. I can manage it... Hygiene? Unfortunately, you have to apply it directly to your face, which isn't ideal. But after a week of use, I haven't had any breakouts and my skin feels comfortable... Color range? Porcelain is the lightest shade, but it's not extremely brightening. It's not too yellow either... I have very fair skin and it's still usable, though I wish it gave a bit more of a brightening effect. It's not as radiant as the Isoi Cover Fit Pact (I can't help comparing everything to that discontinued holy grail...) That's all for now! Since it's only been a week, I'll update after about a month if anything changes. +++++ Update: I don't think this is working for me after all... I kept using it hoping it would get better, but even areas where I didn't have blemishes are now developing small bumps that are turning into inflamed pimples. Back to being a foundation nomad, I guess... If you have dry skin, make sure to moisturize well before using this. For combination dehydrated skin like mine, be sure to hydrate your skin properly before application. Those who don't react well to shea butter should avoid this product. I think the shea butter created a protective layer on my skin that prevented moisture loss, which might be why I didn't get any small bumps initially. A good skin barrier seems important... It definitely reduced folliculitis too. I don't think there's any colored cosmetic product that doesn't clog pores at all, but we can't just not wear makeup... What matters is which ingredients are included and in what percentages. This one doesn't seem too bad in that regard. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 11, 2022
An honest 'ivory' shade in my opinion. The color is beautiful. It has the advantages of a stick foundation - clean application and easy portability. Good coverage. Creates a luminous skin finish without being overwhelming. The adherence is extremely poor. Slight itching under the mask. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedApr 30, 2021
It adheres well to the skin and I really liked it. Great stuff! My face feels brighter. Being a stick format, the quantity is small. But it's still okay. Just swipe it on and you're done! - dj**********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJan 26, 2021
First off, the ingredients are fantastic - that's the main reason I chose this foundation. It's hard to find anything better than this. It's easy to control the amount as you can just swipe and blend on your face. It's great for layering too. You can even use it like a concealer to touch up specific areas. I've tried applying it with both a brush and a cushion puff, but I preferred using the cushion. The price is quite steep... It's a bit painful. The coverage isn't particularly high. You need to prep your base well, and you'll need to layer it multiple times. The first application barely shows up as most of the product sticks to the cushion. Make sure your base is well-hydrated, and aim for 2-3 layers for best results. If you have super sensitive skin and mainly look at ingredients when buying, I'd recommend this product. - ah*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJun 13, 2020
As someone with super sensitive skin who used to be a foundation nomad, I've found happiness since discovering this gem. I sincerely hope it never gets discontinued... While the skin finish and coverage are just okay, none of that matters because it wears off so cleanly. With most cushions I've tried, touch-ups often lead to caking. Back when I had healthier skin, I only used heavy-duty foundations that didn't need retouching. But with this one, after about 6 hours, my face just gets a bit dewy without any clogged pores, emphasized wrinkles, or darkening. A quick blot with a tissue brings it right back to normal. It's a given that it doesn't cause any inflammation, even when worn for 12 hours a day on my seborrheic skin. For me, with a slightly fair complexion between shades 17-21, it matches my natural skin tone perfectly. I've never experienced any patchiness. Even though I'm a budget-conscious office worker saving up, I've already gone through three bottles of this. The biggest drawback is definitely the price... When I first used it, it lasted a full two months. I think I actually got about two and a half months out of it. So I thought, 'This is worth buying!' But for some reason, after that, each bottle started flying off in about a month to a month and a half. Still, I can't give it up! Also, the coverage isn't that great. It's not non-existent though. It evens out the skin tone and easily covers blackheads, that kind of level? But it doesn't matter since you can use concealer anyway. It does transfer onto masks easily. However, since it's so easy to touch up, you don't need to reapply over it. Just pat the marked areas with a cushion puff, and it naturally returns to its original state without any patchiness. Apply it over a moisturizing base. I have dermatitis with dead skin cells all over my face, so I layer Zeroid Soothing Emulsion twice and then apply the foundation. I've had zero patchiness for four months. And make sure to spray !!!mist!!! on your cushion puff before patting it on. When touching up, gently press a beauty tissue over your entire face to remove excess oil, then pat with a cushion puff sprayed with !!!mist!!!. If you need more coverage after that, lightly swipe with a stick foundation and then pat with the damp puff. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 11, 2020
The ingredients are reassuring, and it applies well even on extremely sensitive skin without causing blemishes. The coverage is also decent! The lack of SPF means it doesn't provide sun protection. Those with dry skin might find it less hydrating than they'd like. It applies very smoothly when using a Picasso brush (a firm, angled brush suitable for stick foundations). - al****Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 2, 2020
It's moisturizing and has great ingredients. Being a stick foundation, it's easy to apply. Perfect for travel - very portable! The size is quite small. If you use it daily, it might run out quickly. Make sure to close the cap tightly. It pairs wonderfully with Bobbi Brown's Repair Moisturizing Balm before applying the stick foundation. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 18, 2019
As someone with super sensitive skin, I've been consistently and confidently using this product on my dermatologist's recommendation. Being a stick formula, it's inevitably a bit matte, and it doesn't provide dramatic coverage.
