First off, when I think of NARS, I think of color cosmetics! As a NARS lipstick enthusiast, I found this shade to be absolutely gorgeous.

As someone with cool undertones and a bit of natural redness, I applied this over the Peripera Mood Maison Matte Tint as a base, focusing it on the inner lips for a pop of color. The result was absolutely perfect! (For reference, I prefer applying matte lipsticks over a smooth base.) Oh, and I purchased it from the Shilla Duty-Free online store - it was about $10 cheaper than the regular price! If you're traveling, definitely take advantage of the duty-free deals!

The lipstick case, being magnetic, seems to weaken over time. At first, it closed securely, but now it feels a bit loose. Apart from that minor issue, I'm quite satisfied with the product itself!

This is the perfect red lip for warm-toned people - it's truly the lipstick of life!

I usually mix this with the Coral Pink shade 12 from Laneige, applying it just to the inner part of my lips. This creates a nice gradient effect, and the Laneige formula is so moisturizing that it prevents any dryness or emphasizing of lip flakes, while still lasting a long time.

The only downside, which is quite obvious, is that as a matte lipstick, you need to make sure to properly exfoliate your lips.

At first, it felt like a semi-matte texture, but it went on more smoothly than I expected. And the moment it settles on the lips, it becomes so fixed that it feels like it's my natural lip color, making the color last a really long time.
The color itself is a deep red without any brownish or purplish undertones, so just one application gives you a perfect makeup look. While lining the lips with the same bold red looks great, if you lightly smudge it before it sets completely, you can create a nice pink-toned gradient effect. I was considering the Jungle Red from the Nars line, but it was too matte and had more brown tones, so I end up using this Retro Red more often.
Also, being a Nars product, the sleek and beautiful packaging makes the lipstick feel even more luxurious.

*If you lightly dab it onto your moisturized lips and then press your lips together, it will give a natural, flushed lip look.
*It looks gorgeous layered over a nudey, dewy coral or pink shade as well!

I only learned about it online and bought it through a friend, and when I first saw it, I was a bit worried it was a slightly darker red. Since my skin tone is more on the warm side, wearing Rita alone felt a bit overwhelming for me.

Since it's a matte type, it can accentuate any flakiness.

The pigmentation is really great, and the longevity seems quite good as well! I'm a warm-toned person, but this color seems to suit both cool and warm tones.
