This foundation seems perfect for summer use! The coverage is excellent - it should conceal most blemishes and scars. I wouldn't recommend this for those with dry skin, but it's great for oily skin types in summer! It's really, really drying. Because of the dryness, it doesn't look pretty when it breaks down. Recommended for oily skin in summer! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinApr 8, 2019
When I heard Kat Von D was available at Sephora, I bought it without hesitation. As expected, the coverage is great. The incredibly wide range of shades is both a pro and a con. You might find your perfect match, but with so many similar options, choosing a shade can be quite challenging! It's extremely drying, causing my makeup to severely crack and dead skin cells to flake off. I've tried mixing it with moisturizer, oil, and even Vaseline, but it just pills up instead of applying smoothly. I absolutely do not recommend this for those with dry skin. And the scent... I'm not sure whether to call it a fragrance or an odor. There's this lingering smell that seems to intensify as you blend the foundation all over your face. It's somewhat reminiscent of bad breath, but it's hard to describe exactly. It's just terribly unpleasant. I found that using it sparingly with a brush, dabbing it on like a concealer, works somewhat better due to its good coverage. If you've already purchased it, try using it as a concealer alternative. However, if you haven't bought it yet, I'd recommend reconsidering your options. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJul 13, 2018
The staying power and adherence are great, but I applied it over a foundation that lacked coverage in areas needing more concealment. The coverage is decent. Absolutely no darkening whatsoever. There's so much to say, but let's start with the longevity... It's really... After just an hour, it crumbles around the nose. I'm not sure if there was an ingredient that didn't agree with me, but unlike my usual foundation, this made my skin super sensitive. If you have very thick or dry skin, absolutely do not buy this! It might work better if mixed with a rich sunscreen. Try using it with a damp beauty blender or mixing it with something else. Just keep in mind that if you mix it, you can't expect much in terms of coverage. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJan 21, 2018
++Revision) As I used it, the thick, clay-like texture became more pronounced;; While it has good coverage and staying power, on days when my skin is not in the best condition, it can accentuate pores and flakiness / On good skin days, it looks pretty, but then again, anything looks pretty on those days! / It's not a super easy-to-use foundation, and the color is for cool-toned skin, and there are only four shades, but... it's close to a recommendation Extremely high coverage Applies thinly and has maximum adherence Sticks almost perfectly Minimal darkening The color that comes up on the face is a neutral beige tone ㅋ I think it's between shades 13 and 21, but since I don't need to cover my entire face, I just went with the lightest 41 ㅋ If you want a more natural skin tone, you can try one or two shades darker than this (if you have a yellow base, the neutral beige tone won't show up;; / 41 is fair ivory with a neutral undertone) Not completely matte, but far from a dewy foundation either. More of a 'cracked egg yolk' or 'watery glow' finish? If that's the look you're going for, I wouldn't recommend this Not completely matte, but if you want a moderately satin skin finish, I'd recommend it (individual differences may apply, but in my case with a hydrating base, the luminosity comes through) It can express a sense of polished skin rather than feeling like you're wearing makeup. The problem is, you have to apply it thinly, because if you use the recommended amount thinking the coverage is great, then I'm an extreme Peking opera actor~ Ready to go on stage immediately This foundation absolutely requires a small amount / The key is to spread it quickly on the inner part of the face and finish + It has a texture between a runny liquid foundation and a liquid concealer / Thicker than a cream foundation, but with a slightly sticky feel, so you can build it up thickly with a brush~ The color selection is still ambiguous... But at least this Catbon foundation doesn't have a strong yellow base that makes you look jaundiced over time Don't just buy whatever the Sephora store employee recommends Try it on your neck when you're unsure ㅠㅠ If you run into an employee who turns you into a total jaundiced mess, it's a waste of those precious dollars $$$ and you'll end up in tears This works well with a damp beauty blender For higher coverage, use a dry beauty blender - bu**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinApr 23, 2017
If you're traveling abroad, be sure to get this. It's really good. Why doesn't Catbond come to Korea? ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ But the color...ㅠㅠ I bought one that was too dark. I bought a Light 48, but it was about a 23 shade, so lately I've been mixing it with a lighter one and using it as a contour. ㅋㅋㅋ I'm a bright 21. It's quite creamy, so it might be a bit much to use in the summer. But the coverage is amazing, it lasts a long time, and it didn't irritate my skin. It doesn't seem to have a matte finish. It's a bit dewy on the surface because it's a dry skin type, and there was a bit of tightness in the winter. If you go to Sephora, be sure to get it. - ee****Dry SkinSensitive SkinDark CirclesInner DrynessDead Skin CellsApr 19, 2017
I spent about 2 hours playing in the sun and then looked at it, and it's beautifully collapsed. I tried it the same way as the Estee Lauder foundation for comparison, and the degree of collapse is similar. Catbondi has the advantage of using less amount and not needing a concealer, while achieving the same effect as the Estee Lauder foundation. It's really matte. It feels as moisturizing as the Estee Lauder foundation. You need to have a very smooth and moisturizing base for it to work well. If you apply Bioderma Photoderm Max Aquafluid sunscreen after a moisturizer and then use Catbondi, it really works well. And if you also mist a little bit of hydrating mist before using Catbondi, it's less drying. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 28, 2017
The product was great for my oily skin - it had good staying power and didn't cause any darkening. It felt smooth and non-irritating when applied. Since I have oily skin, it's probably unavoidable, but after about 2 hours, the product starts to wear off and get a bit cakey. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 12, 2017
Catbondy foundation is a must-have! I have a lot of acne and scars, but the coverage is amazing. Honestly, just a little bit of base makeup is enough, and there's no drying feeling. It lasts even after drinking alcohol. Incredible lasting power!! It also doesn't seem to cause any acne. I recommend Catbondy for those with acne-prone skin. It has a slightly matte finish. If you prefer a glowy look, you can apply the base makeup thicker. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 4, 2016
The 48th shade does not express itself brightly on my 22nd combination skin. It has a very natural feel. For those who want to apply makeup brightly, I recommend trying this. I thought the higher shades would also work well for me. The packaging is pretty, and I like the vacuum pump design. It has good coverage. The smell is really like a sewer smell. Seriously.... No matter how much I've encountered all kinds of smells like cabbage water or propolis extract, this has an incredibly foul odor. It's not even a cosmetic product. It's like the pungent smell you get when you get close to an old sewer, a smell that seems to be a result of chemical processing and a wrong collaboration. At first, I thought it was spoiled and tried to return it, but this is just how the product is.... The coverage is good, but it's thick. So when you apply it, it makes your skin look doll-like. Not in a good way. If you apply it thinly, it's somewhat okay, but the texture is so thick that you can clearly feel something sitting on your skin. And over time, it clogs your pores. I think the issue of accentuating dry patches is not unique to this product, but I have no intention of repurchasing. It also caused some breakouts. I generally prefer concealers over foundations. If you have things to cover, I recommend getting a heavier concealer and using a light, spreadable foundation for a cleaner, prettier skin expression. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinNov 21, 2016
At first, the coverage is amazing and impressive, but after an hour or two, it starts to crack and peel around the eyes and mouth.... Also, you have to spread it quickly when applying it. Not recommended for dry skin... The smell is really bad... like saliva... And after an hour or two, the area around the eyes, mouth, and chin all start to peel. If you apply it incorrectly, it looks thick and dry, making the face look unattractive, or so I've heard.
