While I'm not sure if it's a perfect match, it certainly doesn't look out of place and suits me quite well. I bought it because I'm fond of these types of colors. The shade is truly elegant and sophisticated. When I feel like my complexion needs a boost, I apply this all over and then add a tint on top for a healthy flush.
ConsUnfortunately, this lipstick always ends up on my teeth (especially the front ones). It's strange because I don't have protruding teeth, and this doesn't happen with other lip products. It's a constant issue with this one. When eating, it transfers onto utensils... it's almost like eating ice cream! I think it's because the formula doesn't adhere well to the lips and feels slippery. To combat this, I gently blot the inner part of my lips with a tissue or cotton pad after application. On days when I wear this, I find myself constantly checking the mirror and feeling self-conscious about smiling. I really wish they could improve the formula, perhaps with a coating effect. Additionally, the staying power is weak. It looks great for a while after application, but over time it settles into fine lines and seems to fade away. It's as if it's evaporating into thin air.
TipIt's essential to lightly blot the inner part of your lips with a tissue or cotton pad after application.

It's so sophisticated and muted that you'd say no budget brand could ever achieve this shade. I fell in love at first sight and had to snag it right away... It pairs beautifully with Impassioned for an innocent, fresh-faced look.
ConsBeing a lip gloss type, the staying power is practically non-existent. If you don't eat anything all day, it might be fine, but even a sip of water and poof! It's gone. It leaves quite a mark on cups too... Before you know it, you're back to bare lips.
TipApplying a lip top coat improves the longevity, though it does take away from the Velvet Lip Glide's signature moisturizing and plumping effect.

I bought it on impulse after seeing how comfortable it felt and how well it covered the flaky bits. It's the most comfortable lip product I've ever used. I love the smooth, non-sticky texture, so I plan to use only this during fall and winter. Even when I layer it on throughout the day, the color stays true to its initial application without intensifying or becoming too bold. The straight applicator tip made it easier to apply than those with curved tips.
ConsI wish there was one more shade between nude-pink and red. Since it's close to my natural lip color when worn alone, I'm planning to buy Unspeakable to use with it. Why is NARS so expensive? The longevity is a bit disappointing - it transfers quite a bit when eating or drinking. The cups and straws with lipstick marks are definitely mine! For some reason, it keeps getting on my front teeth, though I might be applying it wrong.
TipI just learned a trick: after applying, lightly pat your lips with your finger to remove excess from the inner part, preventing it from transferring to your teeth. It might not be much of a tip, but it pairs beautifully with Unspeakable. Unspeakable alone can be intimidating and feels a bit drier than Bound, but when I apply Bound first and then gradient with Unspeakable, the result is stunning. I've received many compliments on my makeup when wearing this combination.

It glides on smoothly with a glossy finish at first, but settles into a slightly matte texture after application. It has a pleasant vanilla or chocolate scent, similar to MAC lipsticks, which I personally enjoy. The color is a very calm dried rose-toned pink or a pinkish red bean shade. Those with deep undertones might find it darkens their complexion if applied heavily, but a light application creates a beautiful, subtle look. It seems perfect for women in their 30s and above, giving a sophisticated vibe. Younger wearers might find it a bit mature. It's likely to look best on fair-skinned cool tones. For warm tones, the 'Play Pen' shade would suit everyone, but unfortunately, it's currently sold out.
ConsIt tends to dry out over time after application. While the staying power isn't bad, the velvet texture of this liquid lipstick makes some dryness inevitable. As expected, it adheres well to the lips, but the more you apply, the more likely it is to transfer. However, with a light application, transfer seems minimal.
