While it suits cool tones well, I personally think it would look beautiful if those with a deep undertone apply a light shade and then dab a bit of this on the inner parts of the lips!

Nothing particularly bad! It might feel a bit too bright for autumn or winter, so it's probably best for a fresh, radiant look in spring or summer.

I love that it's a clear red shade that doesn't float on the skin! It might suit both spring warm tones and cool tones. The clear color really brings out the best in your complexion.

The only downside, which is probably true for most lipsticks, is that it doesn't apply well over lip balm. Other than that, I can't think of any negatives!

This was truly a daily staple that I used so frequently, it's no exaggeration to say it defined my college years. Even before I had my personal color analysis done, I felt Ruby Woo was too deep for me, so I searched for another shade and discovered Red Rock! As for the color, it's a much clearer and brighter red compared to Ruby Woo, making it less polarizing and suitable for various skin tones. It's easy to wear without much fuss! If Ruby Woo is like a fully ripened cherry, Red Rock is more like a well-ripened raspberry. When applied fully, Red Rock suits winter cool tones beautifully, and when applied as a gradient for a sheer look, it can work for summer cool tones too! The pigmentation and application are fantastic - the color density is incredibly high, and the pigmentation is so good that you can achieve a vivid look with just one swipe. That's MAC for you! Plus, it's not a retro matte like a crayon, but a smooth velvet-textured matte, so you don't have to worry about it cracking your lips!

I've used MAC products for years and haven't experienced any blemishes from them. If you find them a bit matte, try layering a lip gloss on top. The color itself is beautiful.

As someone with warm undertones, this red shade looks especially cozy in winter. It's perfect for winter warm tones. You can't go wrong with MAC makeup products. They're reasonably priced, and the color payoff is truly exceptional.

Being a matte lipstick, it's challenging to apply and smudge. So I end up applying it roughly and then blending it out with a cotton swab.

This is the quintessential cool-toned red lip! While it's a full-on cool red when applied heavily, I personally find it absolutely stunning when smudged out. It's my holy grail lip product, highly recommended!

If you apply this as a full lip color and then add a subtle eyeshadow, you'll look like a goddess!

Well... this isn't really a drawback for me, but if you're not careful when applying it to the inner part of your lips and pressing them together, it can turn into a full lip color. But I'm a full lip color enthusiast, so I don't mind at all.

Though it's labeled as matte, it's not matte at all. It's actually quite moisturizing and doesn't emphasize dead skin cells, which is why I love using it. The color is close to cherry red, but with almost no blue undertones compared to Ruby Woo, so I think it would suit all skin tones. I'm already on my third tube of this...

Instead of rubbing it on, applying with a brush or patting it on looks more beautiful. Also, since it tends to transfer onto masks, try blotting it slightly with a tissue after application to reduce transfer.

Here's a comparison swatch of cool-toned red lipsticks. From top to bottom on the back of my hand: MAC Ruby Woo, MAC Red Rock, NARS Dragon Girl, MAC Feels So Grand, and MAC Effortless. Dragon Girl, often considered the epitome of pink-reds, has a stronger pink tone and absolutely no warm undertones. Feels So Grand, Ruby Woo, and Effortless create a more sultry look when applied, so they pair better with a more put-together outfit. Red Rock, on the other hand, looks great even with casual clothes and a bare face.

While described as a pink-red, there's a noticeable vermilion base. The color seems to be about 45% pink, 45% red, and 10% vermilion. It's definitely a cool-toned pink-red lipstick, but once applied, it gives off a slight mangrove vibe. As someone with a very cool undertone who doesn't suit even a hint of vermilion, I find it a bit disappointing. Although it looks quite nice, for someone like me who looks best in ultra-cool pink-reds like NARS Dragon Girl, the vermilion undertone makes this product slightly less than ideal.

A lovely cool-toned red with a bright pink undertone, perfect for daily wear. Though marketed as matte, it applies smoothly and doesn't feel dry. It's a beautiful cool-toned red that would suit fans of MAC Ruby Woo, Feels So Grand, and NARS Dragon Girl.
