I tried this product for the first time about a week ago, and my impression is... hmm... it absorbs well and feels moisturizing, but also gives a refreshing sensation? I've been using DHC for over 10 years now, and all their products seem great. Even though I'm not fond of Japan, I really love DHC... There's nothing I find disappointing about it. I'm completely satisfied with using this product. I'm using it generously and frequently! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 27, 2019
I bought this for my mother, and she says it's really great for her skin. It's highly moisturizing and absorbs well. It seems good to apply in the morning, but it's not as nourishing as La Fer. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedNov 1, 2018
I have super dry skin that only feels somewhat hydrated with thick creams, which I dislike because they feel heavy. I used to get lazy and just apply moisturizer, but my makeup would look patchy the next day. However, since using this, my skin feels deeply hydrated from within! It absorbs so lightly, with no sticky feeling afterwards. I love it! My friend Yerang bought it for me in Japan, and I think it's going to be my holy grail. I checked on Hwahae and found it doesn't contain any harmful ingredients, which is great! I'm not sure if there's anything I dislike yet! Maybe it's a bit too liquid? Yerang mentioned it tends to run when she uses it, which feels wasteful. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedJul 1, 2018
Highly recommended as an essence for oily skin. It's a water-based formula, so it feels fresh and not sticky at all. I'm not sure if it's dramatically improving my skin, but it has eliminated any pilling when I apply makeup. It's supposed to be good for elasticity, so I'm planning to use it consistently. This would be great for anyone looking for a lightweight essence. The price seems a bit high for the amount you get... It might be a bit too light for winter use. You'll probably need to use it with an oil. - Hwahae UserOily SkinRecommendedJun 28, 2018
I was drawn to this reliable collagen product, and after purchasing and using it, I'm impressed. Despite being an essence, its water-like texture absorbs quickly. I'm personally satisfied with how it's not sticky at all. It seems to deliver hydration deep into the skin, as the moisturizing effect lasts for a long time. With collagen products, I think you need to use them consistently for a long time to see visible results. While I can feel the hydration, in terms of firmness, it seems like regular use is necessary to notice any effects. It's a bit disappointing that the price is on the higher side. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedJun 16, 2018
I bought this along with the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, and I'm so pleased with how it absorbs without feeling sticky, leaving my skin beautifully hydrated. It absorbs well and after a few weeks of use, I can feel my skin becoming more elastic from within. My skin texture has become incredibly soft and smooth. While it's a bit pricey, I purchased it during a sale, and the 100ml bottle seems to last quite a while. I use it in the morning right after my toner, and it works wonderfully as a base for makeup. I was surprised to see it featured on Beauty Label recently - it's exciting when a product you use gets recognition! Overall, I highly recommend it! I bought it online, but I wish it was also available at Olive Young stores for convenience. It absorbs quickly, making it perfect for my morning skincare routine! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 11, 2018
I love that it's not sticky. I've always been a fan of DHC products and used to buy them often, but I received this as a free sample and found it so great that I've been using it consistently. After applying, it feels moisturizing yet firm, so I make sure to pat it in thoroughly after my evening cleanse. It seems to be one of the pricier DHC products. Since I'm sharing it with my mom, we go through it quickly, which puts some pressure on the wallet. If it weren't for the price, I'd definitely stock up on this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 19, 2017
✿ Review from a skincare professional at a clinic ✿ The light skin-like texture absorbs quickly. It's gentle enough to satisfy those with sensitive skin who find it difficult to use functional products. I didn't experience any blemishes. I sampled it before purchasing. As someone with sensitive skin who rarely uses functional products, I'm extremely pleased!! I've been using DHC Mild Emulsion on a cotton pad like a toner to smooth my skin texture, then applying this product instead of an ampoule. It seems to be improving my pores and overall skin texture to some extent. Ladies, collagen is a must-have! It's on the pricier side. The very thin consistency might be hit or miss for some. Personally, I didn't find any downsides, just the price maybe? Use this in your ampoule/serum/essence step. For those unsure about the order of applying skincare products, go from thinnest to thickest consistency. ✿ I always leave this comment: Unless an ingredient is truly harsh and toxic, every component, whether chemical or natural, has its pros and cons. Even the most praised natural ingredient can be harmful if it doesn't suit your skin, and a chemical ingredient others might criticize could be your holy grail, potentially outperforming any luxury product. That's why I don't evaluate products based on ingredients. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinNov 30, 2017
This product is more like a watery essence with a consistency similar to a toner, rather than a typical essence. I sometimes apply it after my clear toner (as either a toner or first serum). My routine is clear toner, followed by toner, then this product. I dispense it slowly onto my ring finger and apply it twice to each side of my face. It absorbs quickly, feels hydrating, and while it's lightweight due to its watery texture, it somehow doesn't feel insubstantial. It's as if it's deeply moisturizing the skin - though I'm not sure if I'm expressing that well! I only use it in the evening. Honestly, we all tend to use multiple essences, right? That's what I do. In the evening, I take my time applying products with intervals between each one, allowing each 'child' to fulfill its role. While this product isn't cheap, I only use it at night and alternate with other products depending on my skin condition, so it lasts quite a while for me. I highly recommend giving it a try! There's absolutely nothing disappointing about the product itself. For my skin type, which dislikes heavy or sticky products, this is unbeatable. If I had to pick one tiny thing, it would be a wish for a slightly lower price. It feels a bit expensive for the amount you get. While most people apply this at the essence stage, I recommend using it right after your clear toner. Gently pat on some toner, wait for it to absorb, then apply this product. I've tried it two ways, and while it may differ depending on skin type, I have combination dehydrated, sensitive skin prone to redness and inner dryness with dry cheeks. I avoid using heavy or very sticky skincare unless I need special care. After using a clear toner, I lightly touch my skin with toner, wait for it to absorb, then apply this product. If I apply another first-step serum or anything else before this product, it can feel slightly sticky (depending on the product). For those who dislike this stickiness, I recommend applying it right after your clear toner and regular toner for faster absorption and no stickiness. This is based on my skin type, so adjust according to your own needs. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinSep 25, 2017
I bought this because I heard it was good, but it feels more like a toner than an essence. However, it works well as a base layer in your skincare routine. I think it would be great to mix with a vitamin C oil. It's too watery. The texture isn't like a typical essence. You need to mix it with an oil to use it effectively.
