Pros: 1. Natural brightening When foundation feels too heavy, this product alone gives you a natural and radiant look! 2. Hydration It's incredibly moisturizing! Perfect as a base, and when you apply foundation over it, it's an absolute dream combo! 3. Application It applies like an emulsion and you can cover your entire face with just a small amount Cons: 1. Pilling If you apply too much or layer it multiple times, it can start to pill! Instead of absorbing, it tends to roll off when you add more Just one super thin layer is enough for a noticeable brightening effect! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 5, 2020
This brightening moisturizer spreads as smoothly as an emulsion. I only needed a pinky-sized amount to cover my entire face. What I love is that even though I have combination dehydrated skin, it didn't feel drying at all. However, with some other tone-up creams, I noticed they would start to separate after about 20 minutes. You know that typical dryness that comes with tone-up creams, right? The packaging... If it were in a tube that you could squeeze or had a pump, it would be more hygienic. But it's in a jar-type container, so you have to search for a spatula every time you use it. I'm also concerned about how much air exposure it gets, which is disappointing. When wearing just the brightening moisturizer under a face mask, I found that mixing in a bit of illuminating cream (pearl cream) gives a subtle, natural glow that looks really nice. - ch*******Combination SkinRecommendedMay 26, 2020
The staying power is truly impressive. I love that it applies smoothly like a hydrating moisturizer, giving a nice dewy finish. You need to be careful with the amount you use. A small quantity spread thinly gives the best longevity and a natural brightening effect. If you get greedy and apply too much at once, you'll end up with a white cast. After applying sunscreen, take a small amount of this brightening moisturizer and spread it thinly. If you need more coverage, gently add another thin layer. For the best results, set it with powder (use a puff to press it in, not a brush) and you'll have no transfer issues, even with a mask on! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 7, 2019
The brightening moisturizer definitely seems to work. Compared to the untreated side, even a small amount makes the skin noticeably brighter. While it feels like it adheres well to the skin, it also tends to create a patchy appearance and settle into fine lines. I have dry skin with some dead skin cells, and even with a solid skincare base, it still looks a bit uneven. Out of curiosity, I applied it to the back of my hand over my regular skincare products, and after a short while, it started to look like a matte foundation applied in the dead of winter - flaking and cracking. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 1, 2019
Unlike most brightening moisturizers that tend to make your skin feel tight or dry, this Manuka cream provides a moisturizing tone-up effect. It's not stark white, but rather a soft beige color, so it doesn't leave a chalky appearance. Instead, it evens out your complexion in a really natural way, which I love. I'm on my second bottle and just discovered the Hwahae app. When I searched for this product, I was shocked to find it contains more potentially harmful ingredients than I expected. However, I'm still using it because I really like how it works for me. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinMar 12, 2019
Absolutely nothing. I've searched high and low, but there's nothing good to say. Even one star is too generous. Of all the 32,000 won I've spent in my life, this was the most pointless. I should have donated the money instead. 1. Artificial fragrance 2. Emphasizes dead skin cells (Where's the hydration they promised?) 3. Highlights my blemishes like they're circled in red 4. Causes a burning sensation on my face The best tip? Don't buy it at all! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedOct 15, 2018
It's moisturizing and brightens the complexion. Perfect for a quick, simple makeup look. For important occasions, it might be best to use this only on your neck. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 10, 2018
The way it absorbs is great, and its ability to even out skin tone is definitely its strongest feature It feels a bit sticky, and if you apply too much, you risk looking sickly Controlling the amount is absolutely essential - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 9, 2018
True to its name as a cream, it's moisturizing and absorbs beautifully. The ivory color blends naturally with the skin, instantly brightening the complexion when applied. You need to be careful with the amount. If you apply it like a regular cream, you'll end up with heavy stage makeup. A single dab on one finger is enough to cover your entire face. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJan 27, 2018
Just a small amount brightens up the skin nicely. The scent is totally my style - so delightfully sweet! After application, my skin feels soft and powdery. It can look patchy if you don't moisturize well beforehand. Applying too much leads to pilling. Sometimes it transfers onto my phone - maybe because I'm using too much? I'm not really sure myself.
