After just one use, my entire face turned red as if covered in mosquito bites, became itchy, swollen, and my skin peeled, bled, and completely flipped out. I suffered terribly. I wasted hundreds on dermatologist bills, and my once-beautiful skin hasn't returned to normal. It's transformed into super sensitive skin. I can barely use dermatologist-prescribed skincare, and even sunscreens labeled as gentle are now too harsh for my extremely sensitive skin. Looking at the ingredient list, I noticed they've included quite a few unfavorable components. Despite their eco-friendly, premium image concept, there are harsh ingredients that can damage the skin. - lo*****Oily SkinRecommendedJun 6, 2023
I have very oily skin and absolutely hate anything that feels greasy. Even though this is an essence, it's completely water-based, so I use it as a substitute for an exfoliating toner. Most toners either feel refreshing but dry, or moisturizing but slippery. This one manages to be both refreshing and hydrating. With the additional 10ml and various coupons, the price isn't much different from regular toners. I think I've used at least four bottles of this. Since I keep using it, there's nothing particularly bad to say. How do I fill 20 characters? Make sure to use plush cotton pads. Regular cotton absorbs too much product, which is a waste. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 24, 2023
The liquid formula was fantastic for use as an exfoliating toner, and it felt amazing when I patted it onto my face with my hands! The price point is a bit high, so it's best to purchase during sales It works well as an exfoliating toner! - su******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 18, 2023
This is already my second bottle! It's become a staple in my skincare routine lately. Pros 1: Hydrating Despite its water-like texture, it feels like more than just a toner. After cleansing, I apply it from face to décolletage, and it leaves my skin feeling wonderfully moisturized. Pros 2: Improves skin texture It's like smoothing out a freshly groomed ski slope! After cleansing and before applying other products, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and comfortably refined. Pros 3: Non-irritating Given my age, I've tried countless first essences. Some, like S*-2, caused breakouts due to fermented ingredients. Caudalie's product is gentle - no irritation or blemishes. It also pairs well with my other Caudalie essence, so I'll likely keep using it. Pros 4: Brightening effect On its own, it's a nice, hydrating, non-irritating first essence. But when used with Caudalie's Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, the effects seem amplified. I'm undergoing targeted chemotherapy, which has darkened my complexion, but I've received many compliments on how much brighter my skin looks since using these products together. Cons 1: Price For a product used like a toner that we apply daily, it's not exactly cheap. It's much more affordable than the Su:m37 Secr*t Essence I used before, though. Cons 2: Heavy glass bottle While I personally love glass packaging for cosmetics, some might find it a bit heavy. Pro tip 1: Use as a mask On days when your skin feels rough and flaky even after cleansing, soak cotton pads generously with the essence. Place them on your cheeks and forehead for about 5 minutes like a mask. Then gently wipe your face with the same pads. It's great for soothing and exfoliating. Pro tip 2: How to save money Look for sets with the Radiance Serum on home shopping channels, or buy the 3-bottle set for a better deal. As someone who really loves this product, I think it could be great for those concerned about dull complexion. Wishing everyone a prosperous New Year! - an*****Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 1, 2022
I have combination dehydrated skin! To be honest, I don't have sensitive skin that breaks out easily from cosmetics, so I've been using this product well. I think it would suit those with oily skin nicely. It's a completely water-based formula, so it feels refreshingly cool when applied. I recommend using it as a skin pack by separating a 5-ply cotton pad! Since it's water-based and has a light texture, it balanced my oil and moisture levels well when applied before a heavier nourishing cream. Not recommended for those with dry skin! For combination dehydrated skin types, using just this and a moisturizer in the dead of winter might leave you feeling dry. It's difficult to apply the product directly from the bottle onto your hands without replacing the opening with a spray nozzle. There's a fermented fruit smell? It has a lingering scent. But personally, I found it gave a healthy impression and wasn't unpleasant. The bottle opening fits other cosmetic spray nozzles, so I've been using it with one attached - it's super convenient and great! I recommend using it as a skin pack during the hot summer. It's also great to spritz it on throughout the day! - na*******Combination SkinRecommendedNov 14, 2022
It's like water but absorbs well and seems to provide good hydration. I also love the signature Caudalie scent. Because it's so watery, you might end up using a lot. And it's a bit on the pricey side. - xm********Combination SkinSensitive SkinNov 9, 2022
+ Light texture and absorbs well Haven't used it long enough to determine its effectiveness - Unlike the Vinoperfect serum from the same line, this is irritating for sensitive skin - Causes blemishes and skin itching - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinSep 24, 2022
The watery texture absorbs well when applied with a cotton pad When soaking a cotton pad and leaving it on the cheeks for 5-10 minutes like a mask, it stings a bit and my face turns slightly red. I rarely get blemishes or skin reactions, so I wonder if this product contains some sensitive ingredients - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 7, 2022
It has a super watery texture that absorbs beautifully when you pat it in! You can think of it as a budget-friendly version of SK-II. At first, it has a slightly odd scent, but you get used to it as you apply. I love it so much I'm on my third bottle! The only downside, if any, is that because of its watery texture, you might go through it quickly if you use it generously. On days when my skin feels particularly dry, I soak a cotton pad with it and use it as a mask. It works wonders for skin recovery! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedJun 26, 2022
It feels like my skin is becoming healthier. The lightweight texture makes it comfortable to use. The moisturizing effect is practically non-existent, which is a drawback for winter use. The scent is rather pungent.
