It pairs perfectly with Lancôme's Teint Idole foundation... I'm in awe! It gives a semi-matte finish on the outside while keeping the skin hydrated underneath. Even when I apply a lot of sunscreen, the foundation adheres beautifully... The staying power is impressive too... What should I do? It's a Japanese product, and finding a substitute is so challenging!
ConsIt's Japanese... Though I'm participating in the boycott, I just can't find a replacement for this. And the price...?

Just as advertised, it provides perfect sun protection.
ConsThis was the worst for me. If you have dry and super sensitive skin, avoid this product. I bought it because it claimed to provide perfect sun protection, and while the powdery finish is nice, it has the typical drawbacks of fluid sunscreens - it becomes matte and gives you blemishes. After using this, I got one or two blemishes, then they spread all over my cheeks. I stopped using it after just two or three applications. All Shiseido sunscreens seem to have this fluid texture with a matte finish, and none of them worked for me. It also caused a lot of eye irritation. I've noticed that most sunscreens without a white cast tend to irritate the eyes, perhaps because they're closer to organic sunscreens.

As someone with oily skin, I appreciate that it's not too rich. It gives a matte finish, I'd say. And while it's subtle, it seems to even out my complexion a bit too.
ConsThe price is so high that I hesitate to repurchase. Unless I can get it at duty-free, it's a product I'm reluctant to buy again.

I can't find another sunscreen that sets such a solid base. Matte foundations apply beautifully over it. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I really need to focus on skincare before applying foundation. This Shiseido sunscreen is my only base product. Except for extremely dry winter days, I don't need a separate moisturizing base in spring and fall. I can apply foundation directly, resulting in a moisturized interior and a pretty semi-matte exterior. The sun protection is incredibly strong - perhaps due to its waterproof nature, it's long-lasting and doesn't easily come off! I used to use the light blue Shiseido sunscreen, but it was too white and didn't blend well. I was torn between the yellow version and this one, but I'm so glad I chose this. Unlike the yellow version, which smelled like chemicals on my face, this one has no such issue. It provides a cooling effect and is super hydrating. Instead of that typical greasy shine from mineral sunscreens, it gives a beautiful, dewy hydration! The texture is great too, applying smoothly without any pilling. I have sensitive skin, and even after finishing a whole bottle, I'm not sure if it's caused any blemishes.
ConsThe ingredients aren't the best... and the price is quite steep! I had to really commit when I bought it at the duty-free shop. But it's so good that when I looked into repurchasing, I was shocked by the price. I bought it again because it creates the best base, but given that sunscreen needs to be applied generously, the cost is a burden... Some people might experience skin irritation due to the ingredients. Still, I think this has the best formulation among Shiseido sunscreens. It's so long-lasting that cleansing water won't remove it - you need to cleanse thoroughly to avoid blemishes.
TipWhen I'm only wearing sunscreen, I use a cheaper one. I save this for when I need a good base. Otherwise, the price is just too much to handle! Make sure to apply it in thin layers or blend it well! It's not extreme, but it can leave a slight white cast if not applied properly. Always use cleansing oil to remove it!
