I think it's safe to buy a shade that matches your skin tone. I have some blemishes that make my skin texture uneven, but even though this foundation has a dewy finish, it doesn't emphasize my blemishes, which I love. It also doesn't look cakey or separate on the skin.
ConsI have combination dehydrated skin, and I noticed that it gets a bit oily later in the day. However, it doesn't break down, just gets a bit shiny. A quick touch-up with powder and it's perfect again! Also, while I don't personally mind, the coverage is on the lighter side for those who care about that.
TipI use a flat foundation brush to apply it.

Compared to the famous existing product, this one is much more hydrating with a formula that's more fluid, like water. It seemed perfect for use during dry winter months. My complexion is slightly lighter than shade 21, and this matched well. I have an oily T-zone and dry U-zone, but with a solid skincare routine, this foundation worked great for me! It seems like a better product for those with dry skin rather than extremely oily skin, and those with combination dehydrated skin might want to give it a try.
ConsAs someone with combination dehydrated skin, I was disappointed with its staying power. When applied in the morning, by afternoon there's a slight oiliness that makes those areas look a bit dull... maybe even slightly darkened. Touch-ups are necessary. After exfoliating or using a mask, it applies beautifully. However, without proper skin prep, it can emphasize dead skin cells or look patchy (seems like a solid skincare routine is crucial). Honestly, it's not amazing enough to call it a holy grail product. I used it without much fuss, but I probably won't repurchase.
