It doesn't break down easily... I can see why it's priced higher. It seems to be around shade 21, as I noticed it brightens my skin just a bit. For reference, I'm a 21-22 cool light tone in summer. It can feel a bit dry when applied with a puff. Other than that, I can't think of any particular drawbacks... - sk*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedJan 22, 2024
Great coverage and long-lasting wear. Unlike other foundations that barely leave any residue when I cleanse at night, Double Wear really shows its staying power. I've lost count of how many bottles I've gone through! The main drawback is that even oily skin can feel dry in winter. You need to apply a good moisturizer before using this foundation. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 11, 2023
Great coverage and long-lasting. Works well for oily and combination skin types. It can break down easily if your skincare base isn't solid. Not recommended for dry skin as it doesn't look pretty when it starts to wear off. Apply with a spatula for a thin, even application that absorbs well. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 16, 2023
I really like it! If you're looking for a completely matte foundation, this would be perfect for you. The coverage is excellent. Because it's so matte, those with dry skin should apply plenty of moisturizer before using this foundation. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinJun 30, 2019
I tried Estée Lauder foundation for the first time. I don't particularly have blemish-prone skin. This product is great for when you want a light application and don't want heavy makeup. I have slightly dry skin, but this product feels a bit powdery when applied, so I think it might be even better for those with oily skin. The absorption and coverage are good. After a while, it can slightly accentuate fine lines around the eyes and nasolabial folds. It's a bit lacking in hydration. Because of this, I wouldn't recommend it to those with dry skin. It's best to apply plenty of essence or moisturizer before using this product. Using a primer is also a good idea. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 15, 2019
I've been consistently using Estée Lauder Double Wear for several bottles, but I switched to Nude because it felt too drying. With Nude, I noticed a slight glow while it definitely helped maintain hydration. It felt moisturizing on my skin. I have sensitive, dehydrated combination skin (not excessively oily). My skin tends to develop a few blemishes here and there. While I had no issues with Double Wear, Nude seems to not agree with my skin. I started getting small bumps all over, so I immediately stopped using it. At first, I thought it couldn't be the foundation, but after a few weeks of not using it, my skin returned to normal. This foundation might be fine for those who don't typically experience blemishes, but for my skin type, I can't recommend it. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 6, 2019
I switched from Lancôme Teint Idole because of severe darkening, but this one doesn't darken at all! I think it's safe to buy a shade that matches your skin tone. I have some blemishes that make my skin texture uneven, but even though this foundation has a dewy finish, it doesn't emphasize my blemishes, which I love. It also doesn't look cakey or separate on the skin. I have combination dehydrated skin, and I noticed that it gets a bit oily later in the day. However, it doesn't break down, just gets a bit shiny. A quick touch-up with powder and it's perfect again! Also, while I don't personally mind, the coverage is on the lighter side for those who care about that. I use a flat foundation brush to apply it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 29, 2018
The coverage is excellent and it has impressive staying power. With other foundations, I often worry about them breaking down due to oiliness after a while, but with this one, I don't have that concern at all! It feels a bit dry right after application. Other than that, I can't find any faults with it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 29, 2018
For extremely dry skin with milia acne, this foundation causes fewer blemishes and feels comfortable on the skin. While it's very moisturizing, the coverage is quite low. It's best to apply concealer before using this. You need to buy a pump separately. If the store doesn't have one, you can purchase a compatible pump from MAC. The size fits perfectly. - an****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedAug 25, 2018
Before trying this, I was using Espoir Be Silk, but I love how this is more hydrating compared to Be Silk and Double Wear that I've used before! The shade is also brighter and more radiant than the Double Wear Cool Bone, which I really like. I was a bit worried because I heard the longevity and coverage weren't as good as Double Wear, but the staying power was actually much better than I expected! I applied my makeup at 7 AM and checked in the evening without any touch-ups - even the sides of my nose were barely faded and looked clean. As for coverage, I didn't notice any issues, probably because I applied concealer before the foundation. I don't know if it's just duty-free shops, but not including a pump is incredibly inconvenient. The formula is quite liquid-like, so I'm scared I might accidentally pour out too much if I can't control it well. I really don't understand why they don't include a pump - it's so frustrating!
