I used to love using primers, but at some point, I stopped because they started feeling heavy on my skin. However, after trying the Make Up For Ever primer, I definitely noticed that my skin texture became smoother and my makeup lasted longer compared to when I didn't use a primer. Texture/Application: The consistency is slightly thick, but it spreads easily and absorbs well. Occasionally, the oil and water separate, creating layers, but a quick shake mixes it back together, and it's ready to use. Effects: While results may vary for each person, I personally found that using this primer improved my complexion by minimizing pores and uneven texture. It also controls oil, which seems to enhance makeup longevity. The Pore Minimizer, in particular, contains mineral clay powder, which appears to be more effective at controlling oil compared to other Step 1 primers. I think Make Up For Ever's biggest advantage is offering customized primers for different skin concerns. As someone with large pores and uneven skin texture, the Pore Minimizer worked well for me, and I was satisfied with its performance. I'm looking forward to using it even more as summer approaches, and I plan to repurchase after I finish this one. The price is a bit steep. Also, for those with very large pores, the primer might feel like it's settling into the pores, which isn't ideal. - sp********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAug 21, 2020
I've been using this as a primer, applying a thin layer on my nose and T-zone before putting on my base makeup The price seems a bit steep for what it does... While it's great for makeup longevity, I'm not sure about its effectiveness in blurring pores or uneven texture - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJul 15, 2020
An absolutely fantastic product. Just a small amount spreads naturally and even blurs pores At some point, the country of manufacture changed and the texture became different. I won't be buying it anymore. The texture of the previous French version was better - it was both matte and hydrating, which I loved Apply this before your sunscreen - rw*****Oily SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMay 24, 2020
The finish feels pleasantly matte, which is really nice. I especially love that it's not colorless, but has a lovely peach tint. For a primer, its pore coverage is a bit lacking. However, it does smooth out skin texture well, so don't rely on this product alone to fill in your pores. Don't apply this product in circular motions with your fingers like other primers. Instead, use a sponge or another tool to gently pat it onto the surface of your skin. If you don't, the product might sink into your pores rather than covering them, potentially emphasizing them even more instead of concealing them. - vi***********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMay 1, 2020
While I didn't notice any significant effects, it did leave my skin feeling matte and velvety smooth. There was an odd scent... It's hard to describe, but it had a sort of musty, unpleasant smell. - su************Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 5, 2018
It worked really well in the summer!! (Can't use it in the winter as it's too oily) In the summer, it's powerfully moisturizing and it really nicely controls the oil. By 3pm, the difference is noticeable when you don't use it. Without it, your face becomes an oil field, but with it, it keeps the oil nicely in check. I have acne-prone skin, but after using this product, my acne hasn't come back 😭❤️ It doesn't cover the uneven texture ㅠㅠㅠ I have a lot of large pores, but it doesn't seem to control them at all ㅠㅠ I tried using it with a pore primer, but they just didn't work well together.. Be sure to try the mini version first before buying the full size! A lot of people find this product doesn't work for them. It's a total no-go for those with dry skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 31, 2018
It glides on smoothly and is an indispensable item whenever I do my makeup! I'm using my second one now^^ It's a bit stingy, but I'm not sure if it's really that bad otherwise.ㅎㅎ - lu********Oily SkinMar 24, 2018
The lack of color and fragrance was a plus. Other than that, it's not much. No matter what method you use, this product causes makeup to smear. It seems to fill in pores, but the silicone-like texture is a bit unpleasant. Whether applied with your hands or a silicone puff, it creates visible boundaries when applying makeup on top. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinFeb 22, 2018
This product formulation has a slightly soft and calm ? feel to it, don't you think? Haha Anyway, it definitely covers the pores well, which I like. I love the Makeup For Ever product line, so this product is also a satisfying one for me. It's the perfect primer to use daily. Please adjust the amount ~ If you apply too much, your makeup can get a bit cakey. - zz********Combination SkinFeb 25, 2017
It's great for smoothing out pores or uneven textures~~~ There's definitely a noticeable difference compared to not using it. And after applying, it finishes with a soft, velvety feel.. It's not quite a velvet finish, but it definitely leaves a soft, smooth feel. If you have issues with dryness, it may cause some dryness as well. I feel like properly managing the moisture level underneath, regardless of the base product, is key to getting the best results. I've added a photo You can see that the wrinkles on the back of my hand are gradually becoming less visible, and it's finishing with a soft, smooth texture. If you fail to control the amount, it'll be a disaster - it'll get clumpy.... You'll have to redo your whole makeup ㅋㅋㅋㅋ You really have to use an extremely small amount. You have to blend it in really well, too. I even took a makeup course at Makeup Forever Makeup School, and they still emphasized using a tiny amount. Controlling the amount is the key!!! I included a photo with the Dior lip balm to show the size of the packaging
