I've used the Essential, but the Light version feels even lighter. It seems to be great for oily skin types. For those with super sensitive skin, this might be quite irritating. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 29, 2020
I tried this product for the first time thanks to a great deal. Many people say you don't notice its effects while using it, but you feel the difference when you stop. Honestly, I can't tell yet, but I use it after removing my makeup and cleansing in the evening for skin refinement. At first, I thought it would be quite harsh because it contains brown sugar, but it's not like that at all! I'll definitely repurchase it. The size is really small... I find myself using it sparingly without even realizing it... - kh****Combination SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedDec 11, 2020
I was skeptical at first because the formula is so watery, but around day 4 or 5 of using it, I thought, 'Wow, this is actually amazing!' I bought it based on vague positive reviews without knowing exactly what it would do, but my skin texture has truly improved. There aren't any. If I had to mention something, it might be that the container is a bit heavy, but that's okay since it helps prevent the product from spoiling easily. - sh****Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 1, 2020
Improves skin texture and replenishes deep hydration. It has a soothing effect on the skin. I love using it with the included cotton pads. It absorbs well into the skin. Surprisingly, I haven't had any small blemishes since I started using this. It's great for controlling sebum and oil. The acid ingredients might feel a bit tingly at first, but it's not constant and becomes unnoticeable after 3 days. Checking the ingredients on the Hwahae app, I learned that the tingling is from salicylic acid and lemon, which help control oily skin. I'm very satisfied with how it regulates oil and I'm using it well. I've never experienced this level of control with other products. This is why Hwahae is great for revealing ingredients! Thanks to that, I use it with peace of mind. I knew fermented cosmetics were good, but department store prices are brutal. I couldn't use toners that need to be applied generously, but now I think I'll stick with First Serum. I'll definitely repurchase. Even though it's a drugstore product, I like that it comes in a glass bottle. Knowing that plastic containers aren't stable for cosmetics, I appreciate the glass packaging. Following the facial contours with cotton pads and then gently pressing to absorb slowly is difficult for my impatient personality, haha! Honestly, for brightening effects, going to a dermatologist seems more effective than any cosmetic product, lol! Without the salicylic acid and lemon ingredients, this product might be disappointing. I used to use Manyo Factory's Galactomy Niacin Essence Mask, which had a tingly sensation but noticeably controlled sebum and improved skin texture. I used it once a week despite its 5,000 won price tag because it was so effective. But now, they've changed the packaging design, sheet, and ingredients (some were removed), so I can't expect the same effects I experienced before. Now that First Serum is the only product left, please don't change the formula! Keep it as it is... please! Using First Serum followed by the Gentle Moisture Cream or Black Pomegranate Cream worked perfectly for me. After applying it to my face, I use the leftover on the cotton pad to gently moisturize my hands or heels. - rl*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 9, 2020
Well... I'm currently using it because people said it was good, but I wonder what the issue might be... Update as of 12/14 😊 ^^ I found out what the problem was! Oh my... First off, my skin is combination - oily T-zone, dry cheeks. Strangely, I got small blemishes on my forehead and chin, so I tried using it only on my T-zone just in case, and guess what? I've been using it for almost a month now... and why aren't the blemishes going away...? I've found my holy grail! My skin used to get regular breakouts, but when I applied it only to the oily areas, no blemishes appeared! Well, just one tiny one. This... is truly amazing. I'm thinking of buying the mild version for my forehead and chin. It'll cost twice as much, but it's worth it if it works so well! Wishing Skinfood great success! I have an oily T-zone and dry cheeks. Right now, it's absolute chaos with small blemishes exploding everywhere... I'll try to calm my skin down and apply it again. If the same thing happens again, I'm going to sell this product. Sigh. Update 😊 Seriously, try using it only on the oily areas - it's fantastic!!! For some reason, my dry areas broke out in small blemishes. I'm not sure if it's because there are many ingredients that don't agree with sensitive skin, but be careful! Hmm, the cotton pads that come with this product seem to irritate my sensitive skin. Instead, I use those foam-like cotton pads from Innisfree to gently wipe before applying toner, then pat it in to absorb. I think this is really a good method for sensitive skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 4, 2020
Honestly, if it weren't for the sudden supply issues with Skinfood, I would have kept using this product. It was that good. Considering the price, the amount is a bit small and the bottle is unnecessarily heavy. Recommended for oily skin - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 21, 2020
I used this product a lot when my skin was acting up. When you pat it on gently with a cotton pad, you can feel the instant boost of hydration. The price is quite steep compared to the amount of product you get, which is disappointing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 29, 2020
I didn't realize how great it was until I switched to another product. Now I'm back to using this one. I've gone through at least 4 bottles already. I'm using the 'Light' version because I don't like greasy or sticky textures. It definitely improves my skin texture. Unfortunately, it's become a bit more difficult to purchase through the Skinfood app or online. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 11, 2020
Before using this as my first serum, I used to have a lot of dead skin cells around my mouth and cheeks. After using this, those issues disappeared, so I've been using it for about 3 years. I tried switching to something else because the price was a bit burdensome and I got slightly bored, but I ended up coming back to this serum again. The price... I use it up faster than expected, so the cost is a bit disappointing. - 48*******Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 12, 2019
It does improve skin texture! No blemishes triggered. The light version seems suitable for oily skin types! While it does improve skin texture, it lacks hydration and I barely felt any soothing effect, which is a bit disappointing. Great to use as your first step in skincare!
