The downside of the liquid type is that it tends to drip, making application a bit tricky. I ended up using it in place of toner. However, after applying it and sleeping, I woke up with about a dozen new blemishes. I suspect the oil or fragrance ingredients don't agree with my skin. Also, while it was fine with other products, it seems to clash with Primera's hydrating cream. (I've never had issues with the other products.) It might have been too rich for my skin.

The liquid formula absorbs incredibly fast. Plus, the scent isn't overpowering.

As someone with severe deep dryness, I've never found a toner that could tackle it on its own. But this Essential Source - is it because it's not just a skin or toner? The texture is similar to a toner, but applying this twice seems to address my deep dryness. I received it as a gift and was pleasantly surprised by how well it works.

Since it's used before the main essence, you don't need to apply a lot. I use a very small amount, just enough to spread over the skin. While it feels light, the ingredients seem potent as even a small amount feels sufficiently absorbed.

There are no drawbacks. It applies lightly and absorbs well, making it perfect to use before the next step of applying the main essence.

I had a preconception that O'hui products would have a strong and heavy fragrance, but I was surprised that it barely had any scent when applied and absorbed lightly. With O'hui having many main essence lines like Ampoule Advanced, it feels great to use this as a light skin prep before applying those essences. It's been a while since I've purchased an O'hui product, and I'm satisfied with this one.

As expected with O HUI products, the price isn't exactly budget-friendly. However, if you search online diligently, you can find it at discounted prices. If you're looking for a product with intense hydration, you might find this a bit lacking due to its lightweight nature.

I'm currently using O HUI The First Line for my base products. Even though I have dry skin, I dislike sticky textures, and using only rich products tends to cause blemishes. This has become my go-to product. It's lightweight and builds up thinly without causing any blemishes, which I love.

Rather than applying it with your hands, I recommend using a cotton pad to gently exfoliate like you would with a toner, or doing a skin pack. It seems to calm the skin quickly, which I really appreciate.

The price point isn't exactly budget-friendly... But honestly, I couldn't find any real drawbacks with the product itself while using it.

The smell is awful, like mold. I heard newer batches have added rose fragrance. I'm using an older version I had stocked up on. I'm trying to get used to it by layering it with Mamonde's Mugunghwa cream. Otherwise, I couldn't have used it. Also, it's too expensive. Make sure to buy it during department store promotions! Or purchase a 50,000 won LG product from a door-to-door sales rep and get this as a gratis item.

It absorbs quickly, and with continued use, I noticed my skin texture becoming smoother. My pores seem less visible too. Feels like it's worth the price!
