This time, I purchased sunscreen sticks from various brands and will leave a review comparing them. (Sunscreen sticks used: Suntique, IOPE, Mamonde) ✔️Spreadability Suntique > IOPE > Mamonde The Suntique sun care had the best spreadability. It wasn't too thick, so it applied smoothly on the skin without any irritation. If applying on top of makeup, Suntique would likely transfer the least. The other products had a very matte formula, so they would likely cause more makeup transfer. However, for use on the body, Mamonde's spreadability was the best. (Not too matte, not too smooth - a middle-of-the-road formula) ✔️White Cast All three products had no white cast. The best part about the Suntique sun care was the lack of white cast. It blended in naturally with my skin tone. ✔️Breakouts IOPE > Mamonde, Suntique Whenever I would just apply sunscreen, I would get breakouts. Especially with IOPE, my face would get completely irritated just after one day of use. With Suntique, my face did not get irritated after application. ✔️Scent I don't mind scents that aren't overpowering. Most of the time, the scent dissipates anyway. The Suntique sun care also had no unpleasant scent, and after using the sunscreen stick, the scent did not linger when I used my regular skincare products.
Cons✔️Oiliness Suntique > Mamonde > IOPE The only downside to the Suntique sun care is that it has some oiliness. The other products were almost completely matte and had very little oiliness, even when used on the body. However, while the Suntique had great spreadability, the oiliness made it feel unpleasant to use on the body. Lately, with the warmer weather and increased sweating, the oiliness made it feel uncomfortable to have it on my skin the whole time. I think it would be better to use the Suntique sun care only on the face. ➰ I've included a photo to show the oiliness of the sunscreen sticks. I checked the oil levels by blotting with oil-absorbing paper after application.
Tip👍 Helpful Tip I have dry skin and I don't like sunscreens with oiliness. While I have dry skin, I try to hydrate it with moisture, and minimize the oil as much as possible, since I also have troubled skin. The Suntique sun care was the sunscreen stick I was most satisfied with, as it did not cause any breakouts. However, due to the oiliness, a lot of dust would stick to my face, and my makeup would break down quickly... So after applying the Suntique sunscreen stick over my skincare, I let my face air-dry for about 10 minutes. Then I blot the oiliness of the sunscreen with oil-absorbing paper. After that, I'm able to apply my makeup without any oiliness, and the longevity of my makeup is also improved.
