The cleansing effectiveness seems pretty decent. You can really feel the granules, which gives you the sense that it's doing a thorough job of cleaning your skin. This is absolutely not for sensitive skin. It tends to cause quite a bit of irritation. I accidentally got some in my eyes and thought I was going to die. The pain was so intense I nearly went to the emergency room. I ended up shedding a ton of tears before it finally cleared up... Please be extremely careful with this product. - 77*****Dehydrated SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 5, 2021
I bought this product because it's famous for its deep cleansing effect, which I love Being a scrub, I don't use it as often as I thought I would, so it's a shame I haven't finished it yet - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 16, 2019
This is my holy grail scrub! As a guy, I've had 'exfoliate, exfoliate' drilled into my head. But my super sensitive skin couldn't handle it. Whether I used scrubs, gels, or mud masks, my skin would sting like crazy. Then I found this gem - it doesn't irritate at all! I'm already on my third purchase. I love how smooth my skin feels after using it, and it has this lovely peach-like scent. I use it twice a week, and it's amazing how it gets rid of blackheads too. I'm absolutely thrilled with this product. I don't usually write reviews, but this is the first product I've ever given 5 stars to! The only downside is the cream that comes with the scrub. It feels like it doesn't rinse off completely. I usually scrub until my skin feels squeaky clean, but on days I use this, I can't quite get there. Apart from that, I'm extremely satisfied. Guys, make sure to use this after a workout, a long day outdoors, or when you've been exposed to a lot of dust! They say if you don't exfoliate properly, you can develop small, bumpy blemishes on your skin! - mi**********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 14, 2019
My skin, while prone to blemishes, doesn't react badly to any products I've tried. I've never felt that a product was too harsh for my skin - you could say I have 'steel skin'. The St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub has a strong, sweet apricot scent and much larger particles compared to other scrubs. When I saw the 'Scrub Effect Index' was labeled as DEEP, I was curious to see how well it would work. Immediately after use, I could see my face was incredibly smooth! It also provides excellent hydration - right after use, there's no feeling of tightness, just moisturized and silky-smooth skin. It's truly amazing. However, you might feel some tightness later, so it's best to follow up with skincare right away. On days when I do a mask -> scrub -> skincare -> makeup routine, my makeup seems to apply twice as well. The product comes in a large quantity, and I usually buy it during Olive Young sales for around 5,000 won, which lasts me a long time. The downside is that it can be quite harsh. While it doesn't bother my skin, those with super sensitive skin might find it difficult to use. The scrub particles are very large and don't dissolve, so if you apply too much pressure, it could hurt your skin. When using it, it's important to be gentle, following the grain of your skin, and patiently roll it with a light touch. Also, while I loved the scent at first, after continued use, it became a bit overwhelming. It's quite a strong fragrance, so keep that in mind. The back of the container shows the Scrub Effect Index, and this product has the highest rating. If you have sensitive skin, it might be better to check the Scrub Effect Index at offline stores like Olive Young before buying, and choose products labeled as GENTLE to MODERATE. I also use this product as a lip scrub, and it works great! If I apply a thick layer of petroleum jelly the night before, gently roll this scrub in the morning, and then apply lip balm, my lips stay moisturized all day. It could also work well as a body scrub! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 9, 2019
After using this, my skin feels incredibly soft. It's like I can feel the dead skin cells being effectively removed. I've tried every product out there for blackheads, but alternating between this and a cleansing oil daily has shown real results! My skin has improved so much, and I plan to keep using it. I even recommended it to my friends, and they all loved it too! If you scrub too hard, it can be painful. Also, if you don't rinse thoroughly, fine particles can remain on your face or get stuck in your hairline, so you need to be careful when washing it off. The texture is a mix of cream and granules, so if you don't like the slightly slippery or sticky feeling after cleansing, you might want to follow up with a cleansing foam. The key seems to be gently rolling it on your skin. I mix it with a bit of lukewarm water and use it like a massage. I apply a bit more pressure when scrubbing my nose area, which feels refreshing and nice. It even reduces blackheads! Personally, I follow up with a cleansing foam. I think it's best to use a foam that contains white clay or can absorb pore impurities for the best results! - dk******Oily SkinAcne SkinFeb 23, 2019
The scrub definitely removes dead skin cells, so you can see its effectiveness in exfoliation. While the large particles might seem too harsh, there wasn't any noticeable improvement like instant brightening. The non-dissolving formula is a real hassle - it stays on your face and hairline even after thorough rinsing. I've always used water-soluble types before, and I loved St. Ives body wash, so I thought I'd give this a try. I had no idea how inconvenient a non-dissolving scrub could be! It's somewhat manageable if you wash your hair too (though particles still remain even with extra rinsing on scrub days). But if you just cleanse and exfoliate before skincare, you'll go crazy with particles popping up everywhere. This issue alone is enough reason for me to write this review. Absolutely won't repurchase. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 6, 2019
It's excellent at removing dead skin cells, and even though I have sensitive skin, it wasn't too irritating! Attention, all you scrub enthusiasts who like to rub vigorously! Remember, no matter what skin type you have, exfoliators are meant to be used gently! Always use your fingertips to roll the product softly over your skin! Never apply pressure when rolling! Fingertips only! Gentle motions! Keep it light! If I had to point out a downside... Well, maybe the particles are a bit large? But that's not really a major issue. I just wish they were slightly smaller. Gentle! Always! Rolling! Softly! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 25, 2018
Great value for money! It exfoliates well without being too harsh on the skin. It's fantastic - no blemishes at all! The only downside is that it's a bit pricier in Korea compared to the US. - ds*******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 9, 2018
First positive point: I bought this on sale at Olive Young, thinking I might be falling for a gimmick, but I had no idea it would be this good! The fragrance is absolutely delightful - it seems like an apricot scent, but it's quite sweet, which kept me in a great mood throughout use. Second positive point: The dead skin cell removal is simply outstanding. When used on the face, it effectively removes sebum, diminishes blackheads, and eliminates dead skin cells - it's truly amazing. When used on the body, it leaves your skin incredibly smooth. Third positive point: It's made with walnut shell powder, so it doesn't have a significant negative impact on the environment. I've heard some products use microplastics, but this is a much better alternative. One drawback: It's disappointing that it contains 3 out of 20 ingredients to be cautious about... Still, it's good enough to use. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 27, 2018
This is my first time using a face scrub, and I'm impressed! It's gentle with no irritation. After use, my skin feels clean, soft, and refreshed. I snagged it at a 50% discount from Olive Young, making it a great bargain. It suits my skin so well that I can't find any downsides to mention.
