  Pros

  I'm very satisfied with the Caudalie Whitening Serum I purchased after using it. I have fair skin with some blemishes, so I've used whitening products before. However, those often caused a pimple or two to appear. This time, I bought it at the duty-free shop after reading reviews that it was gentler and better. I really like how the fragrance and texture feel very soft and mild.

  Cons

  This serum makes me wonder what kind of SOS it's meant for. First off, when applied during the day, it pills up like dead skin cells and doesn't absorb all day, constantly pilling. It's even more frustrating when I use this and then apply cushion foundation - it floats and leaves white residue. Personally, I'm reminded once again that good ingredients don't always mean they're good for your skin. It's disappointing that unnecessary fragrances are included. Even though it's a gentle product, I kept applying it at night, but gradually my skin became rougher and my skin texture seemed to deteriorate. In hot weather, I experienced flaking for the first time in a while, and my skin became blotchy. It doesn't seem to calm the skin after using BHA either. I sigh looking at the remaining product. It's a failure. (When looking at serums, I focus on hydration, soothing, and moisturizing effects, but I'm doubtful about these three with this product. It's been a while since I've used a serum that makes my skin red.)

  The whitening serum is much better for dry and sensitive skin types.

  I actually found the scent quite pleasant. The ingredients seem to be of good quality as well.

  Cons

  The texture is so watery that I'm skeptical about its ability to lock in hydration. When I use this product alone, it pills off like dead skin cells during the next morning's cleanse. I was hoping for a soothing effect, but instead, my skin became red and my skin texture seemed to worsen. I bought two bottles at once from duty-free because of all the hype, but now I regret it. I'm just using it as a substitute for emulsion on summer mornings. It seems Caudalie and I don't get along well...
