I've tried mugwort products from various brands, but this one is disappointing. It doesn't soothe my skin at all, and actually feels irritating.
ConsIt doesn't help much with calming my skin. I don't think it suits my skin type. I'm getting small blemishes. This is the first time a mugwort product hasn't worked for me. +It's extremely drying! It didn't suit me, so I gave it to a family member. The next day after using it, they noticed dead skin cells flaking off. It feels like it's stripping moisture rather than adding it. Far from soothing, it seems to irritate the skin by depleting hydration.

The mugwort scent is pleasant and not off-putting.
ConsI have combination dehydrated skin. While my skin produces a lot of oil, it lacks moisture, which leads to dead skin cells building up easily. For me, this product wasn't as hydrating or soothing as its reputation suggests. However, I'm satisfied using it because it doesn't cause any major new blemishes.

I bought this with my own money during a sale at Olive Young. Here's my honest review: Initially, I alternated it with my existing toner, but it seemed ineffective and even caused more blemishes. So I decided to use it exclusively, ready to toss it if it turned out to be the culprit (the woes of sensitive skin - I can't use just anything). Surprisingly, the more I used it alone, the better my skin became. Now, halfway through the bottle, my skin has a slight glow and looks clearer! My existing blemishes have all disappeared, and I haven't had any new breakouts since settling on this product. (I suspect my previous products, though gentle, were canceling each other out when used together.) As someone with truly sensitive skin, I was worried the mugwort ingredient might not agree with me, but I'm extremely satisfied. There's a slight burning sensation, but I've experienced similar with other toners. It's becoming less noticeable as my skin adapts, and it fades quickly, so it's manageable.
ConsIt seems like everyone gets better results with the '7-skin method', but using it that way makes the product run out too quickly, which is a bit disheartening. Also, it doesn't have exfoliating properties, so you can see dead skin cells building up. You'll need to use a separate peeling gel or oil for exfoliation!
TipAfter cleansing, I gently use this as an exfoliating toner. (It's crucial to be gentle! Applying too much pressure can cause irritation.) Then I pour some into my palm and do two layers of skin patting. (It's important to gently press it into your skin for absorption! Slowly pressing it in works much better than slapping it on or rubbing it in vigorously.) In total, I'm doing three layers (including the exfoliating toner step). I have combination skin leaning towards oily, so this completes my skincare routine. Sometimes it feels a bit tight, but as I have extremely sensitive skin that breaks out with creams, I just add an extra layer or two on days when it feels dry. If you're not seeing results, try using it alone! It could be a game-changer. (If it's not enough on its own, follow up with a light moisturizer.) The regular price is 40,000 won? Olive Young often has it on sale for 28,000 won, and I got it for around 19,800 won during their brand sale. Even at 28,000 won, I think it's a good deal, but if you see it discounted further during a brand sale, grab it right away!
