I was debating whether to buy a different mask or not when a store employee recommended this one. They initially explained that it could be rinsed off without cleansing and that the bamboo something-or-other helps with soothing. I already had a good impression of Lush because I'd had great results with Cosmetic Warrior (I tend to trust a brand if one product works well). Most importantly, they said it had a longer shelf life than other mud masks (about 4 months), so I decided to buy it. After using it, I really liked how it made my skin look brighter and more radiant. Maybe because of that brightening effect, I also felt like it hydrated my skin. Other than that, I didn't notice any particular benefits.
ConsI bought this product as a substitute for Cosmetic Warrior, hoping for exfoliation and blemish-soothing effects, but it didn't deliver the results I was expecting. When I tried it in-store, I didn't notice the fine, sand-like particles it contains. It seems they were added for exfoliation, but they didn't really remove dead skin cells effectively. Instead, they caused a bit too much friction and felt irritating. The pudding-like texture needs to be broken up by hand and applied to the face, which honestly uses up too much product. Also, because of its clumpy consistency, it didn't feel like it spread evenly on my face.
TipIn the store, they said you could also remove it with a warm steamed towel, but it's a hassle to wash the towel, and the small particles are surprisingly difficult to rinse off. It's actually better to just rinse it off with lukewarm running water.
