This product acts as a scrub while providing hydration, leaving your skin feeling moisturized and soft after use. However, it's challenging and time-consuming to melt the product with your hands' heat when applying. This often results in uneven application, with clumped areas remaining soft while other parts harden, causing extreme dryness. Rinsing is also problematic, as tiny particles keep coming off, requiring excessive water use. There's a concern about clogging drains if clumps go down. The noticeable particles can feel quite harsh, and during cleansing, they may cause a stinging sensation and feel like they're scratching the skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 29, 2019
When rinsing off, you can feel tiny granules (like sugar crystals, not microplastics) that seem to exfoliate dead skin cells. It didn't cause any blemishes. The scent is intriguingly unique... It's challenging to apply. It feels like you're taking a clump and rubbing it on your face. - wl*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJan 15, 2019
I originally went to buy Cosmetic Warrior, but they were out of stock that day. I was debating whether to buy a different mask or not when a store employee recommended this one. They initially explained that it could be rinsed off without cleansing and that the bamboo something-or-other helps with soothing. I already had a good impression of Lush because I'd had great results with Cosmetic Warrior (I tend to trust a brand if one product works well). Most importantly, they said it had a longer shelf life than other mud masks (about 4 months), so I decided to buy it. After using it, I really liked how it made my skin look brighter and more radiant. Maybe because of that brightening effect, I also felt like it hydrated my skin. Other than that, I didn't notice any particular benefits. I bought this product as a substitute for Cosmetic Warrior, hoping for exfoliation and blemish-soothing effects, but it didn't deliver the results I was expecting. When I tried it in-store, I didn't notice the fine, sand-like particles it contains. It seems they were added for exfoliation, but they didn't really remove dead skin cells effectively. Instead, they caused a bit too much friction and felt irritating. The pudding-like texture needs to be broken up by hand and applied to the face, which honestly uses up too much product. Also, because of its clumpy consistency, it didn't feel like it spread evenly on my face. In the store, they said you could also remove it with a warm steamed towel, but it's a hassle to wash the towel, and the small particles are surprisingly difficult to rinse off. It's actually better to just rinse it off with lukewarm running water. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJul 6, 2018
Effective for removing dead skin cells. My rough skin became smooth and silky. I feel reassured knowing the scrub particles are made from bamboo stems. When I put the product on my palm, it had a bouncy, pudding-like texture that felt alive. The application experience is terrible! When I applied it to my face, it felt like a slightly toasted marshmallow. It doesn't absorb well and takes a long time to rinse off with water! I've attached a photo to show you how it applies - please take a look. It clumps badly, making it difficult to spread evenly on the face. Even after 10 minutes, it was hard to wash off with water, and it caused significant skin irritation. While the application experience is extremely uncomfortable, the results are quite good.
