As someone with an extremely oily scalp who can't go without oil control, here's my take: Cleansing Power: It seems to cleanse well. There are coarse salt-like particles inside, giving it a slight scrub feel. I was surprised by how well it lathers, better than expected. Volume: This shampoo makes your hair feel stiffer, which seems to create a bit of volume! It's not dramatic, more like a subtle difference that you'd notice yourself but others might not. Lush Quality: True to Lush's reputation, the fragrance is lovely. The scent is strong while washing, but after rinsing, it's hard to tell if it lingers... maybe just a faint trace? I wish it lasted a bit longer. Longevity: I bought this expensive shampoo expecting its oil control to last, but I'm disappointed it didn't live up to my expectations. So I did an experiment... 6 hours after washing: The hair behind and inside my ears started to get slightly greasy. 12 hours after: About 70% of my hair was noticeably oily, even to others. It got greasy much faster than I hoped, making me wonder if I fell for overhyped marketing. Value for Money: In my opinion, the value is terrible. The amount you get is small compared to the astronomical price. I was shocked when buying it. It's the kind of price you'd only consider during a Lush sale. Overall: I'll keep using it until I find another shampoo, but I'm definitely looking for a more cost-effective option to switch to. This shampoo makes your hair quite stiff, so you can't skip conditioner entirely. If you have hair that gets oily quickly like mine, try using a tiny amount of conditioner just on the ends. Also, if you tend to get greasy hair, doing a pre-wash before your main shampoo seems to help it last a bit longer! I'm already on my sixth 640-gram jumbo bottle! I have extremely oily hair, and my husband occasionally deals with dandruff, but we've both seen great results. You only need a small amount to work up a rich lather. After use, my hair feels fresh and clean for hours, and amazingly, it even adds volume! We both have super oily and sensitive skin, but after trying countless other shampoos, we always come back to this one because it works so well for us. While it's generally fine, there are times when I'm not feeling my best or if I use it daily, I notice more hair fall after shampooing. Usually, the salt granules settle at the bottom, so I always give the bottle a good shake before opening. Also, to prevent my scalp from getting too dry, I've started using it every other day. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinApr 11, 2021
Excellent at removing oil. Great for creating volume. I'll probably use it more often in the summer. The price is a bit steep for daily use. If they could lower the cost in our country while maintaining this level of quality, I'd be a loyal customer for sure. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinMar 11, 2021
The fragrance is refreshingly zesty, and the lather is rich and long-lasting with great volume The container is a bit flimsy, so it's easy to spill. I accidentally spilled it once. The packaging could be better, but I suppose that's reflected in the price I use it about once every four days - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 29, 2020
The scent - at first I didn't notice, but I ended up falling in love with it! A tiny amount creates an incredible lather. Right after rinsing, before drying, you might feel your hair is a bit stiff, but that doesn't mean your hair actually becomes rough or dry. After drying, you get amazing volume and airiness. The staff recommended using it twice a week, but I loved the scent so much I used it daily. It worked like magic on my damaged hair from perms and bleaching, making it bouncy and silky smooth. Surprisingly, it improved the condition of my hair from roots to ends, even though it's not a treatment. However, you do need to use it regularly. Many people complained about the container, but I didn't find it particularly inconvenient. The only downside is the price of this shampoo, which I absolutely adore. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 23, 2020
It definitely seems to add volume at the roots. Plus, I personally love the scent so much! The price is quite high, making it a bit burdensome unless it's on sale. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 14, 2020
Excellent for removing dead skin cells from the scalp with sea salt! It has great cleansing effectiveness and gives great volume after washing. It would have been even better without sulfates... It's a shame that most Lush products contain sulfates. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJun 16, 2020
My hair volume has really come alive! Maybe it's because I've been at home due to COVID and not tying my hair up, but I can definitely feel and see that my hair looks fuller. I also loved how it lathers up so well. Plus, knowing it's from a cruelty-free company made me feel even better about using it! When you first use it, your hair feels super stiff. The amount is also quite small, so you go through it pretty quickly. At first, it's hard to control how much you use, and without the right technique, a lot of the shampoo falls off when you're lathering, which was surprising and felt wasteful. As mentioned above, because it can make your hair stiff, you absolutely need to use a hair essence after washing. While it's tricky to control the amount at first, you'll get the hang of it with practice. Instead of rubbing it in your hands, it's better to apply it directly to your scalp, work up a lather, then use the remaining foam for the rest of your hair. Use a bit more shampoo to massage the lower part of your scalp for the best results! As you use it, you'll hear the salt falling in the bathtub - it's oddly relaxing, and stepping on the salt can even boost your mood a bit. Sometimes the shampoo might run down your face while washing, and if it gets in your mouth, instead of going 'yuck,' you'll think 'Ooh, salty! Wow, real salt!' It's quite an experience! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 26, 2020
Highly recommended! The scent is amazing, it lathers well, and leaves a great feeling after washing. It adds volume to your hair and feels refreshing. The price is quite steep. Being a product you scoop out, it's difficult to control the amount, which is inconvenient. The packaging is also not user-friendly. Best to buy during sales. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 11, 2020
It gives my hair incredible volume and body. My scalp tends to be sensitive, often getting red and flaky, but since using this Big Shampoo, those issues have been gradually subsiding. The price point is a bit on the higher side. The packaging itself is somewhat disappointing. Closing the lid can be tricky as particles tend to get stuck, making it inconvenient. I've actually transferred it to a different container for ease of use. Apart from that, I haven't found any other drawbacks so far.
