The application is also good, and my usual foundation is rather matte, so I wanted something more hydrating. This product is moisturizing, which I like. The product size is compact, so it's good for portability. I was surprised at first when I saw how small it is, but the high portability makes it convenient to carry around (just be careful of leakage!)
ConsI had used Missha BB cream before, so I had high expectations when I bought this, but it doesn't seem to suit my skin very well. As I have reddish and flushed skin, it doesn't seem to effectively conceal the redness. Likely due to the moisturizing formula, the coverage seems to be lacking. If I always want a radiant look, I have to sacrifice coverage. It also doesn't seem to adhere well, as it rubs off on my phone and gets stuck to my hair. There are 2 questionable ingredients, but usually other foundations also contain undesirable ingredients. So I've come to terms with that.
TipSince the coverage is low, I recommend using it with a concealer or if you have good skin.

I was selected for this Hwahae Trial Reviewer program and got to try the Missha Skin Foundation in shade 23 Sand. My skin type is dry and I have a bit of pores on the sides of my nose. I don't have many uneven textures, but my skin tone is slightly yellow and uneven, so I really focus on color correction. The foundation I was using before was the Etude House Double Lasting Foundation in Neutral Beige, which has a slightly grayish beige tone. It's about the same shade as a typical 21. When I first swatched the Missha product on the back of my hand, it looked like a slightly dark, reddish color, and I thought it would look dull and dark on my face like a suntan. But when I actually applied it, it wasn't as bad as I expected. The color seems to match the darker areas of my face well, and 23 is a new shade for me but the overall tone looks quite even and natural, blending well with my neck. Instead of just using the Missha foundation all over, I applied my usual lighter foundation on the high points of my face like my cheekbones, so it didn't look too dark overall. When I used to just apply the matte foundation all over, it would look a bit dull and emphasize the dryness and flakiness of my skin, especially in this dry season. But with the Missha foundation as the base, I didn't have that problem, and it gave a nice, glowy finish that I really liked!
ConsHowever, since it's more of a hydrating type, the longevity wasn't very long and it felt like it got absorbed quickly. Over time, the discolored areas around my mouth and the uneven parts of my skin tone started to show through more. It also transferred a lot onto my phone.

It is also extremely dry! Pros: The formula is moisturizing and skin-like, applies very thinly, and is easy to layer. It makes my skin look great. Since it applies thinly, it doesn't leave a white cast around my nose or chin area like some other products, and the Skin Glow barely shows up. The color seems a bit reddish when first applied, but fades to a more natural tone over time (likely due to it wearing off). It's an excellent formula for touch-ups and layering during makeup application. For people with already good skin, it can make it look even better.
ConsCons: Since it applies so thinly, it doesn't cover redness or uneven texture very well. It can only conceal the most minimal of blemishes. The oil doesn't get left behind in a white cast, but instead comes up through the foundation. This makes my nose look very oily. It wears off easily, so if I touch my face or use my phone, it immediately transfers. After testing the longevity for 5 hours... as long as I don't touch it, it barely fades, but even the slightest contact requires immediate touch-ups.
TipHonestly, it's just worth the price... Those who need a matte or high-coverage formula probably won't even consider it, but as the name suggests, it's a glowy, skin-like product! It does make my skin look smooth and nice, but since I have some uneven texture, I still prefer a cream-type formula. There are two potentially irritating ingredients, but I didn't experience any irritation. For the before and after photos, just focus on the coverage, not the color - the lighting was uneven, so the color looks different. As you can see, it didn't cover my flushing today, but it can conceal very light blemishes. I probably wouldn't use it when I have breakouts, as it doesn't seem to provide any coverage for that. Honestly, the longevity isn't great either. I'd only recommend this for those who prefer a more transparent makeup look! I don't plan to repurchase, as it couldn't cover my texture and the longevity was disappointing. But if you have good skin and prefer a glowy, transparent makeup look that you can reapply easily, this could work well for you! The last photo is after 5 hours without any touch-ups - just reference the creasing and coverage. Even though I applied it thinly 3 times, there was hardly any breakdown. Some wrinkling is inevitable, but for the drugstore price point, it's not bad! ⭐️This is an honest, personal review as a Hwahae Trial Reviewer.⭐️
