The pump on the bottle sometimes leaks a bit, but I do like the clean, square design overall. The main downside is the lack of hydration. While the brightening ingredients are nice, this toner feels a bit drying, especially for my dry skin type. I can't layer it as much as a more moisturizing water toner.

I really like this toner! The transparent, water-like color makes it easy to gently wipe off. I like to pour it into a spray bottle and mist it on, then pat it in. The lightweight, clear formula absorbs quickly, so I often use it before applying my makeup in the morning or at night. The scent is unique but not unpleasant.

It contains fermented ingredients, and even though I usually don't do well with fermented essences, I haven't had any issues with this toner. It hasn't caused any irritation or breakouts. The brightening properties seem to be helping improve my dull complexion over time.

I have skin irritation and it's dry in the winter/I don't use my regular skin toner or use an acidic toner/In the morning I just apply two types of skin lotions, and in the evening I apply skin lotion and cream.

As someone who usually doesn't think much about skin toners, boosters, and essences (aren't they all just water?), I started consistently using a skin toner thanks to winning the Hwahae Trial Reviewer program. I use it by thoroughly soaking a cotton pad and wiping it on 2-3 times.

☆The feeling after using a sheet mask is better than just using a skin toner☆
After using a sheet mask, your skin glows, right? But it's not just that, there's this plumped up feeling that I'm not sure how to describe...

I often just use the skin toner instead of washing my face in the morning when I don't have to go out, and even during seasonal changes, my skin didn't feel dry at all.
I couldn't really feel my skin texture improving, but there was a sense of my skin becoming more resilient and plump (I'm not sure how to describe this...). The area around my nose where makeup tends to cling also seemed brighter.

The reason for the 5-star rating is because of that ☆ part. I absolutely hate doing face masks, but using this product gives me the same effect as a sheet mask without the hassle, and I feel like I'm taking good care of my skin.
I read in other reviews that some people found it drying, but since I don't usually use a skin toner, my expectations were very low, so I was extremely satisfied with the results.

In the evening, after cleansing, I used it and when I woke up in the morning, there wasn't much of what is commonly called 'sebum' (?) which was great. I felt that this Rice Essential Tone Starter is better to use in the morning.
Also, a few days ago, I managed the blackheads and sebum on my nose and applied the tone starter soaked in cotton as a toner pack, and I felt it calmed down quickly, and when I woke up in the morning, I felt my pores had shrunk without any irritation.

Of course, cotton pads help to smooth the skin texture, but for this product, it's better to apply it directly with your hands. Hands are the best brushes, after all! 😁

Since a toner is the most basic step for the skin, it should be absorbed well first, so that the next steps like moisturizers can be effective. But that's the disappointing part - the stickiness lasted too long as a basic step.
I'm really grateful that I was selected for the Hwahae trial, but I think it would be a bit difficult to purchase this product at its regular price. It doesn't seem like a product I would actively seek out, which is a shame.

First of all, it matched my skin really well.
After applying it, my skin became clearer. The scent was not too strong, which I liked.

I have been using it morning and evening for over 2 weeks, and I have sensitive and dry skin.
I used it as a starter with cotton pads + Dokdo Skin 1 absorption + Dokdo Lotion routine, and I can say that I really love it.
The scent is a bit unpleasant, it's kind of like rice water, but it exfoliates well. There is a bit of irritation, but after washing and removing the residue, it becomes moisturizing. I double cleanse with a mild cleansing lotion, and I don't know what comes out, but the amount is quite a lot and the packaging is really convenient and well-made. The design is nice, and it doesn't break easily, but it's not cheap-looking. Honestly, it exceeded my expectations and I really felt an improvement in my skin texture. Makeup applies well, and I would repurchase it.

If it suits your skin, this seems like a really good product to use in the winter as a toner.
