I have a light complexion with deep undertones. However, orange tones tend to make my face look muddy, so I usually go for pinks with a slight warm tinge. My holy grail lipsticks were YSL Rouge Volupté Shine 46 & 12. When it gets cold, I'm always reaching for the Rouge Volupté Shine. As the weather warmed up, the Rouge Volupté started to feel slippery and didn't adhere well, so I went looking for a formula that would stay put on my lips. That's when I chose the Powder Kiss. Unsurprisingly, the color is very similar! I guess I can't escape the shades I love. This warm pink is perfect for deep undertones - it instantly brightens up my complexion. Personally, I find it very similar to the pink tint left behind after wearing Cha Cha Tint (which is also a holy grail, but it fades too quickly for my liking). The Powder Kiss isn't completely matte, making it easy to control. In summer, it feels fine even without lip balm underneath! While the Powder Kiss line isn't fully matte, it's matte enough that you might need a lip balm. If your lips are in poor condition with a lot of dead skin cells, you might notice some flaking after wearing it for a while. However, since it matches my lip color so well, any flaking isn't very noticeable on me. With some shades in the Powder Kiss line, like Devoted to Chili, the flaking on the inner lips was more noticeable, but with this one, it's only something I notice when looking closely in the mirror. The color is absolutely perfect, but the ingredients list makes me want to cry. During my base makeup routine, I always start by applying Bepantol lip cream. When I apply the lipstick as the final step of my makeup, it goes on smoothly with just the right amount of moisture. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 19, 2022
I took an online personal color test and found out I'm a Spring Light. But this shade... it's my ultimate life color. I've never seen a color suit me this well before. Even when my lips are super dry and I apply it quickly without lip balm, it still looks great on my lip texture. Sometimes when I apply this over lip balm, it can pill or clump a bit, which can be annoying. But it happens very rarely, and aside from that, this product is absolutely top-notch. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 15, 2021
This lipstick has a truly beautiful pink-coral shade. It's perfect for creating a statement look or brightening up your entire face. Among MAC lipsticks, this one seems to have the most moisturizing formula that glides on smoothly. It tends to emphasize dead skin cells quite noticeably. Despite its smooth application, if you don't properly care for your lips before applying, it can result in a flaky mess. The lipstick also seems to bunch up on the lips. The staying power isn't great, as it comes off quickly when eating. The application can be a bit tricky too. Instead of going on neatly in one swipe, you need to apply multiple layers, which can lead to a messy look. Proper lip exfoliation is absolutely essential with this product. On the bright side, it's a fantastic shade for layering with other colors. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 17, 2021
The color is absolutely gorgeous and looks fantastic on those with deep undertones! I'm not sure if it's because I have a lot of lip lines, but this lipstick settles into every crease. Even though I don't have much dead skin, it clings to any flakes. I've never experienced a lipstick that cakes so badly in fine lines and on dry patches. If I apply lip balm first, the lipstick won't adhere, and I can't even layer it. Well, applying it very thinly makes it somewhat better, but then the color doesn't show up much. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinMar 22, 2020
I was torn between giving it 3 or 4 stars. I'll go with 4 because the color is just so beautiful. I think I bought it last spring, but it was sold out everywhere I went. It was a bit of a struggle to get my hands on it, but the color alone makes it worth it. The photo makes it look too bright and neon-like, but that's not the case at all. It's a lovely pink coral shade. The pilling and emphasis on dead skin cells is really severe... The color is so pretty, which makes it even more disappointing. And the scent is just... oh my. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 16, 2020
As someone who uses warm-toned eyeshadows but cool-toned foundations, this shade was a perfect match for me! It's a more distinctly pink coral, which suits me wonderfully. The color is absolutely gorgeous, and while it has a powdery finish, it applies incredibly smoothly. If you're in between warm and cool tones, this is definitely a must-buy! It tends to emphasize dead skin cells quite noticeably, even more so than the matte line in my opinion. Additionally, if you apply lip balm after this, it pills terribly. This product just doesn't play well with lip balm at all. After applying this, avoid putting on any lip balm, lip cream, or similar products. Even before applying lipstick, make sure any moisturizing products are fully absorbed to prevent pilling.
