- Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 27, 2018
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. As someone with extremely dry skin, I found the fragrance wasn't overwhelming. I applied this oil as the final step before my base makeup, and it felt great. It also left a nice sheen when applied before bed. I've had skin reactions to other oils before, but this one provided excellent hydration without causing any blemishes. I think it would be suitable for those with super sensitive skin too. It also worked well mixed with foundation. I always used a small amount, but there was a slight feeling of pilling rather than the product adhering perfectly to the skin. However, this improved if I waited a bit after application. Overall, I was quite satisfied, and apart from this minor issue, I didn't have any other complaints. If you're not mixing it with your base makeup but using it separately, apply a small amount and press it into your skin with your palms. Don't immediately apply your base makeup; wait a little while. I found that my makeup applied better this way compared to when I only used my regular skincare routine! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinNov 26, 2018
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. Please note that individual experiences may vary. I have combination/sensitive/acne-prone skin. In the past, my skin was more on the oily side, but as time passed and I aged, my skin type changed. I used to have clear skin without any blemishes, but suddenly it became a playground for small bumps and pustules. Anyway! To cut to the chase about how baobab oil worked for my skin - it didn't work well! When I applied for this test, there wasn't any standout information about positive or negative effects for different skin types, and the ingredients seemed gentle, so I decided to try it. However, regardless of the harmless ingredients, I'm not sure if the baobab component just doesn't suit me or if oily products in general don't work for my skin. The day after using this product, my small bumps quickly turned into pustules, and I even developed a new, hard, painful spot. While this product unfortunately caused breakouts for me, I think the texture and feel on the skin might actually work well for those with dry skin. So, I asked my roommate with the opposite skin type (dry skin) to try it. After using it for about 3 days, she said she was satisfied with its moisturizing effects. She mentioned it might feel a bit heavy in summer, but could probably withstand harsh winter winds. In other words, it provides enough hydration to help dry skin survive the winter! Considering this, I believe this product isn't suitable for all skin types, but could be optimal for certain skin types. As mentioned in the positive points, I think those with oily skin should avoid this product. For those with combination skin, it might be best to use it only on specific areas. Also, I found the price to be a bit high. It's in the 20,000 won range for 15ml, so the quantity is small for the price. Well... if you think about using just a couple of drops of oil... still, I think it would be more reasonable to buy it when it's on sale.
