Gentle on sensitive skin with no irritation Absorbs well Convenient small size for carrying around Tends to make skin look a bit oily Runs out quickly due to small quantity - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinAug 7, 2021
The stick format makes it quite convenient, and its small size is perfect for carrying around. It tends to feel rather sticky after application, which can be a bit uncomfortable. - hh***Combination SkinAcne SkinAug 17, 2020
It's versatile - great for touching up over makeup or as a base. The ingredients are high-quality too. I love how compact and lightweight it is, making it perfect for on-the-go. The color is a bit dull, so when applied alone it looks a bit unnatural. Just dab a small amount gently over your makeup for the best results. - no*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 29, 2020
Mineral sunscreen in stick form, convenient to carry, hygienic Washes off too easily with water and leaves a noticeable white cast - da*****Normal SkinJul 13, 2019
I generally prefer stick sunscreens for their ease of application. Living in France, I use a lot of French derma brands. European derma brands mostly use avobenzone for UV protection, so it's hard to find suitable sunscreens if you're avoiding chemical filters. That's why I discovered this little gem. While my facial skin isn't particularly sensitive compared to my body, I still err on the side of caution. My facial skin is quite smooth, so with just a bit of tone correction, people often compliment my complexion. I apply this barrier sun stick, add a cream blush, draw on some eyeliner, and I'm good to go. It's so convenient that I can reapply throughout the day. I used to love the Vichy sun stick because it didn't need touch-ups, but with this one, you need to pat it in with your fingers to avoid leaving streaks. The biggest disappointment is the inclusion of nano titanium and nano zinc oxide (I guess that's why it felt so smooth). There are non-nano ingredients too, but... I only discovered this later, so I immediately bought Mustela's sun emulsion. The silver lining is that there isn't much product, so I'll just use it up as a touch-up sunscreen. Hwahae's ingredient list needs updating too. It doesn't show the nano ingredients, and stearic acid is missing from the list. Make sure to cover your entire face and pat it in with your hands. Highly recommended for those who, like me, wear minimal makeup in summer. It might be a bit oily for applying makeup over it, so you might want to use a matte foundation. Personally, I found it all fine. - ls*****Combination SkinRecommendedJul 1, 2019
The stick format makes it easy to apply. It doesn't melt easily, so it's great for summer use. Plus, it's a mineral sunscreen, so I feel safe applying it. There's a slight white cast, which is a bit disappointing. The dryness is just barely noticeable.. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 12, 2019
It's compact, making it great for on-the-go. Being a sunstick, you don't need to use your hands, and it absorbs well with a smooth application. It provides a slight brightening effect and coverage, perfect for quick outings. You can just apply this one product and head out. While it's not overly rich or sticky, there's a slight oily feel to it. Due to its brightening and coverage effects, you need to pay more attention to blending and absorption after applying it with the stick, compared to colorless sunsticks. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedMay 4, 2019
It's great that it doesn't get too oily even in summer. The brightening moisturizer gives a natural-looking complexion. It's really thick and despite being a stick product, you still need to reapply it with your hands. - 00****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 3, 2019
The brightening effect is great, it absorbs well, and it's super portable! I checked on Hwahae and the ingredients look good too!! I often have skin reactions to sunscreens, but this one doesn't cause any blemishes. I gave it 3 stars because of the downsides I mentioned below. If it were colorless and without shimmer, I'd use more than 10 tubes! 1. Price For such a tiny sunstick, it's quite pricey for the amount you get. 2. Beige color I bought this brightening sunstick to use on my neck, but the beige color leaves a noticeable tint on my clothes near the neckline. It also has shimmer, which isn't suitable for how I intended to use it. (It should be fine for those using it on their face, especially if you like shimmer!) Personally, I have textured skin, so I'm not a fan of shimmer. If it didn't have shimmer, I'd consider using it on my face instead of my neck. 3. White residue in fine lines At first, it feels smooth and slightly oily, but as it dries down, it settles into fine lines, leaving white residue. The white residue in fine lines can be blended out after applying the sunstick, but it leaves a sticky residue on your hands. This takes away the convenience of using a sunstick in the first place. - Hwahae UserOily SkinRecommendedApr 13, 2019
I like that it's less greasy than AHC's product. It's also not irritating to my skin. I apply it twice a day, but the amount seems small so I'll probably use it up quickly. However, the small container could be an advantage for portability.
