ConsThe amount seems a bit small, and like other reviews mentioned, it pills and leaves a white residue

While it might feel a bit heavy on a hot summer morning, it's quite nice to apply before bed with the air conditioning on. I didn't experience any blemishes.
ConsDepending on the previous skincare steps, it sometimes turns white at first, then becomes transparent as it absorbs. If you don't let it absorb fully, it can pill and roll off when applied with sunscreen. There are some sunscreens that don't cause this issue, but it's still a bit of a hassle.

I love how quickly it absorbs. No blemishes appeared.
ConsI'm not sure if it's because I applied sunscreen a few hours after using this, but the sunscreen tends to pill...

Hello there, I've worked at Amore Mart, Nature Republic, The Face Shop, and Innisfree. Now I'm just a regular office worker, though I still get products from nearby stores (thanks to a close friend who works at Innisfree). I've tried pretty much every road shop product out there, especially from the Amore Pacific line. While everyone raves about Innisfree, Etude House, The Face Shop, Sidmool, Nature Republic, and others with their centella, madecassoside, or cica ingredients that supposedly help soothe and regenerate skin, none of them had any effect on my skin. But the one product that actually tamed my blemishes and pimples was the IOPE Cica Cream. So when I heard they came out with a gel version, I had to try it! The original Cica Cream was heavy and thick, probably due to the shea butter. If you applied it too thickly, it would clog your pores. So I mainly used it in winter and had to apply it very thinly, which was a drawback. In short, it was too much for summer use. I had high expectations when I tried this new gel, and it completely surpassed them! Looking at the comparison photos, you'll get an idea of what I'm trying to express. It's not like the Innisfree Bija Cica Gel or other soothing gels that are super cool, watery, and light. This one is more opaque and semi-solid in texture. It's not as thick and creamy as the original Cica Cream, but it spreads smoothly and easily. It's somewhere between a gel and a cream - this delightful ambiguity! When you apply it to your face, it feels like it's creating a protective layer. It's as if it's coating your skin, helping to lock in moisture. Compared to the original, it definitely focuses more on hydration than oil, but thanks to this coating effect, you can still feel the moisturizing benefits. I'd recommend this to those who find heavy cica balms too much for summer but find gels too light. It's perfect for those with dry skin to use in summer! Even if I apply a lot before bed, it doesn't clog my pores. No pimples appear - it's great! To sum it up: It's basically the IOPE Cica Cream without the shea butter!
ConsAlthough it's advertised as a gel-type product for oily skin and summer use, claiming to be lightweight, I found it more oily than expected, which was disappointing. For some reason, if you don't apply it correctly, it can leave a white residue. I guess I'll have to apply it in thin layers, building it up gradually. Also, while the original Cica Cream is clearly a moisturizing cream with shea butter, this Cica Gel has a texture I've never experienced before. It feels unfamiliar and a bit awkward. It's not exactly lightweight, but they say it is... It's a unique texture that I feel I need to get used to.
TipIn summary: It's like the Cica Cream without shea butter. I don't feel like it's a significant improvement or offers any particular new benefits. However, you can apply it with a lighter heart. It's fantastic to use after applying a cooling blemish toner. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have!

Cons1. Despite being a gel cream, there's no cooling effect. 2. Occasionally, the gel cream can pill and leave a white residue. 3. There was no soothing effect, unfortunately.

First off, I don't have sensitive skin or atopic dermatitis, so if you have super sensitive skin, my review might not be as helpful. Please keep that in mind. 1. It feels refreshing 2. It absorbs well (similar to point 1) 3. I like the container type: It's hygienic (compared to other jar-type creams)
ConsTo summarize the downsides in comparison to the pros I mentioned: While it feels refreshing and absorbs well as I said in points 1 and 2, it's almost... too light? I have combination dehydrated skin, and it feels like it doesn't quite do enough. When I apply it, I don't get that unpleasant feeling of it being sticky or pilling, but... a few minutes or tens of minutes later, when I touch my face, it's different from the feeling of it being absorbed and unnoticeable. It's hard to explain, but I'm certain that even if I try applying more, the feeling stays the same... I just don't feel like it's providing good hydration or moisture retention.
TipWe all know that cosmetics are incredibly personal and what works for one person might not work for another. However, I wouldn't particularly recommend this cream. There are so many better options out there... It's a shame that apart from the container type, I can't readily point out any other advantages.

This being fragrance-free made it comfortable to apply. -Packaging ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The tube packaging is great as it prevents dust from getting into the cream. -Oil control ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My skin usually gets oily within an hour even after cleansing, but with this cream, I noticed significantly less oil production. This was the best feature for me.
ConsI found the cream to be slightly heavy on my skin. It can pill if applied too thickly. Other than that, I liked everything about it.
TipEven if it pills, applying a thick layer before bed leaves my skin incredibly soft and soothed by morning. It's perfect for use before important events or when your skin is acting up.

This review is based on dry skin. ! I don't usually have blemishes except for small bumps on my forehead. ! While this is a Hwahae Tester review, it's very subjective. ! Used from April 23 to April 29. ! Not used in morning routine. ! Evening routine: Toner - Aloe - IOPE Cica Gel - Round Lab Birch Sheet Mask when cleansing was irritating - Dermatory Moisture Cream when feeling dry after using cica gel ✓ Texture I liked the texture. It's opaque with a bouncy gel-cream feel and a soft, hydrating touch. ✓ Scent Fragrance-free. Very slight sweet scent, likely from the ingredients. ✓ Application Spreads smoothly, but feels like it forms a film while absorbing. It feels both hydrating and slightly oily. Not sure if the cream contains oils or if it's just the application, but it feels like something is coating the skin. Expected intense hydration from a cica 'gel', but it feels heavier than pure hydration. ✓ Redness & Small Bumps No effect on redness when applied after skincare routine. Seemed somewhat effective for small bumps. Had some on forehead when starting, now they've subsided. ✓ Hydration For dry skin, it's not long-lasting. Skin felt parched after about an hour, needing an oil-based cream. My oily-skinned husband found it non-drying over two days. Definitely not for dry skin. Might be good for combination skin in summer. (I plan to try it again in summer) ✓ Price Seems overpriced for its effectiveness. Not better than the Dermatory cica gel I've been using. ✓ Packaging Loved the tube type packaging. Overall, it was an average product. Might have dramatic effects on blemish-prone skin, but not worth buying specifically for dry skin. Consider various skin types and read multiple reviews for informed purchases!
Cons⛔ Pilling First time experiencing pilling with a cream. After a sheet mask, when my skin was full of moisture, I applied the IOPE cica gel. It started pilling as soon as I rolled it on my cheeks, pilling everywhere I touched. It absorbed well after patting it in. So I skipped it in my busy morning routine just in case. However, this seems due to the sheet mask not being fully absorbed. If you ensure the previous steps are well-absorbed, there shouldn't be pilling.
TipFor dry skin, better in summer...
