Even the slightest irritation causes redness. Packaging: The packaging was standard, but the container itself wasn't sealed... The lid just twists open, which made me go 'Huh?' Also, the instructions didn't specify if it can be applied during the day. Usually, brightening products are for nighttime use, right? I was just curious if it could be used during the day or only at night. The dropper bottle is very convenient and nice. Ingredients, Scent & Texture: According to Hwahae, it's made with all skin-friendly ingredients. So there's no artificial fragrance. (I've been using only clean beauty products lately, so the scent didn't bother me.) For an ampoule, it wasn't thick when first applied with the dropper. It has a texture like water that doesn't flow, giving a fresh and moisturizing feeling, but when applied, it felt heavier than expected. I have dry skin and like hydration, but I really dislike stickiness, so the sticky feeling after application was a bit unpleasant. Usage Experience: I only used it twice over ten days. Not intentionally, though. After the first application, my skin completely flared up. I waited for my skin to calm down before applying it again for this review, but the next day my entire face developed bumpy dermatitis, so I stopped using it. After letting my skin settle again, I tried once more, but it flared up again... It was so itchy, I really suffered. Some ingredient must not agree with my skin.
ConsDermatitis: If you have very sensitive skin like me or seborrheic dermatitis, please keep this in mind before purchasing. Stickiness: Despite its non-viscous texture, it feels sticky when applied to the face. It's a bit heavy feeling, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who prefer a fresh feeling like me.
TipSince the ingredients didn't agree with me and I couldn't use it much, I don't have any tips to share.

However, this time I applied the [Better Me Ampoule Serum] after just two layers of the water essence. I also used face oil around my eyes and U-zone. Usually, after a toner mask, I don't feel much deep dryness. Perhaps because of this, I didn't notice the [Better Me Ampoule Serum] making my skin feel more or less hydrated than usual. It's difficult to gauge the brightening effects after just a week of use, so I'll post an additional review once I've finished the product. Pros: While it feels slightly sticky, it absorbs quickly. After absorption, there's no uncomfortable feeling of hair sticking to your face. Some sticky products can leave a film-like feeling, causing tightness not from oil-moisture imbalance but from the product itself. The [Better Me Ampoule Serum] doesn't have this effect - it just leaves your skin feeling moisturized. It doesn't feel overly rich either. For me, it provided overall hydration without causing any blemishes or irritation.
ConsIt's just an average product. I didn't feel like this was a must-have or that I absolutely needed to use this specific product. While it was gentle and good for me, that's very individual, and nowadays many other products are formulated with gentle ingredients too. Also, because it's sticky, it seems best suited for nighttime use only. I didn't even attempt to use it before makeup in the morning, as I had a feeling it might cause pilling. Just a hunch that makeup would not sit well over it...

My skin type: Combination skin with an oily T-zone (nose and forehead) and dry cheeks. Unfortunately, this serum really didn't work for my skin... After cleansing, I always used my exfoliating toner pads to wipe my face before applying the serum.
ConsI tried it for about 3 days, but it clearly wasn't right for my skin, so I had to stop using it. 1. It stung! It was too irritating for my skin. 2. It was so drying that I absolutely had to apply a cream on top. Moisturizer was a must! 3. From day one, I started getting small blemishes, and by the third day, it got even worse. 4. Right after application, it felt heavy and sticky. Then, just when I thought it had absorbed, my face became extremely dry. 5. As for the brightening effect... I couldn't really tell. All I got was a bunch of blemishes. I wanted to keep trying, but the blemishes kept getting worse. So I washed off all the serum I had applied and went back to my usual hydrating, soothing cream and blemish spot treatment. Oh, my poor skin... +(June 9th update) After stopping use and continuing with my regular skincare routine, almost all the blemishes have cleared up now. I guess it really didn't suit my skin at all... Once I stopped using it and took care of my skin for a bit, everything went back to normal.
