I felt like my skin texture was improving. Maybe it's because of the good ingredients. The gentle formula is great! It feels so mild that I can apply it smoothly without any irritation, like I'm just putting water on my face. As for brightening, I'm not sure if it's because my skin texture improved, but I got the 'feeling' that my skin looked brighter, perhaps due to the removal of impurities. While it's hard to expect much in terms of hydration, the product seems to focus on brightening, which I'm satisfied with in that aspect. Despite its thin consistency, it absorbs slowly. However, once it's fully absorbed, it leaves a fresh feeling without any stickiness at all. The amount you get for the price is a bit on the small side. It works great when applied together with the relaxing ampoule - you get both brightening and hydration! - qu*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJul 12, 2019
A transparent, fluid serum with a lightweight texture. It feels like a perfect blend of ampoule and serum. The ingredients are gentle and high-quality. It applies smoothly without irritation, providing hydration and a silky feel on the skin. The value for money considering the volume isn't particularly impressive... I ended up using it as an exfoliating toner - ga********Combination SkinSensitive SkinDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJun 21, 2019Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

When you apply it to your face, it drips down. • It's so rich that when you spread it with your hands, it feels like your hands are sticking to your face! Haha! I was surprised and a bit wary at first because it was so sticky, but after a short while, it absorbs right into the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. • I really feel like my face brightens up. Before, I'd wash my face in the morning and think it looked bright, but then it would look dull again after applying my skincare. Since using this, my skin truly looks brighter, making me want to put on makeup and also feel good without it :-) I think it's also been effective for calming blemishes and reducing hyperpigmentation. When I wake up after applying it, my skin really feels like a baby's... That initial sticky feeling completely disappears, and when I look in the mirror after washing, my face looks incredibly bright and fair. Plus, it feels so soft.. It works so well for my skin!! If I had to pick something?? The fact that it's so rich it feels like your hands are sticking to your face when you apply it. I was surprised and a bit wary at first because it was so sticky, but after a short while, it absorbs right into the skin, leaving it soft and smooth, which is a mood booster ~ For those with extremely dehydrated skin, I always used this along with a hydrating cream. If you apply this alone to your face without properly hydrating first, it might actually have a negative effect :( (Because of that brief stickiness, I avoid using it in the morning and only use it before bed!) Since it's very runny and drips quickly, you need to apply it swiftly. For those who dislike stickiness, I recommend using it at night. Using it in the morning might make your makeup look cakey... (just my personal opinion) My skincare routine is: 'Hatomugi Skin Conditioner' for toner pack + 'Medicube Red Toner' for skin texture refinement + 'Lucid Brightening Ampoule Serum' + Red Erasing Cream (!!) This skincare routine really works wonders for me :( The #RedErasingCream is a bit heavy and a thick cream without much hydration, so I apply the ampoule to my face before the cream absorbs. This way, it's not suffocating and works great! For those using thick creams that don't quite work or feel too heavy, I recommend trying this method. (By the way, for those using 'Medicube Red Erasing Cream', I highly recommend it! You can see twice the effect with brightened complexion) - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 18, 2019Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

My skin has been acting up for the past year, so I've been on a skincare diet and barely wearing any makeup. I've been focusing solely on soothing products, neglecting brightening care. Before my skin issues, I had some freckles on my cheeks that bothered me, but now with redness from irritation, my complexion is a mess. I was looking for something calming, but when I saw this product had gentle ingredients, I decided to try it for brightening. The scent is similar to the Cica*go ampoule. It contains bergamot oil, which gives it a slightly oily and rich texture at first, but it absorbs quickly into the skin. I paid extra attention to applying it around my freckles and dark spots on my cheeks and temples. Its absorption is so good that it can fit anywhere in your skincare routine. After two weeks, I've noticed an improvement in my skin tone. Overall, my complexion seems brighter. It feels a bit oily and sticky when first applied. I also use Sidmool's Panthenol Ampoule (which is naturally sticky), and using both makes my face feel quite tacky. The amount seems appropriate for me, though. It's just right for an ampoule serum. I recommend adjusting the amount you use. At first, I applied it generously all over my face, but later I found it better to mix a drop or two with my base skincare products. - m_********Dry SkinSensitive SkinJun 18, 2019Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Even the slightest irritation causes redness. Packaging: The packaging was standard, but the container itself wasn't sealed... The lid just twists open, which made me go 'Huh?' Also, the instructions didn't specify if it can be applied during the day. Usually, brightening products are for nighttime use, right? I was just curious if it could be used during the day or only at night. The dropper bottle is very convenient and nice. Ingredients, Scent & Texture: According to Hwahae, it's made with all skin-friendly ingredients. So there's no artificial fragrance. (I've been using only clean beauty products lately, so the scent didn't bother me.) For an ampoule, it wasn't thick when first applied with the dropper. It has a texture like water that doesn't flow, giving a fresh and moisturizing feeling, but when applied, it felt heavier than expected. I have dry skin and like hydration, but I really dislike stickiness, so the sticky feeling after application was a bit unpleasant. Usage Experience: I only used it twice over ten days. Not intentionally, though. After the first application, my skin completely flared up. I waited for my skin to calm down before applying it again for this review, but the next day my entire face developed bumpy dermatitis, so I stopped using it. After letting my skin settle again, I tried once more, but it flared up again... It was so itchy, I really suffered. Some ingredient must not agree with my skin. Dermatitis: If you have very sensitive skin like me or seborrheic dermatitis, please keep this in mind before purchasing. Stickiness: Despite its non-viscous texture, it feels sticky when applied to the face. It's a bit heavy feeling, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who prefer a fresh feeling like me. Since the ingredients didn't agree with me and I couldn't use it much, I don't have any tips to share. - gd***Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 18, 2019Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

From the moment I first used this product, I was blown away by the scent! The fragrance is so lovely - natural and aromatic. I can confidently declare it the best-smelling product I've used in my 2n years of skincare. Another great aspect is how it feels on the skin. It initially applies rich but absorbs well, leaving a fresh finish. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I highly recommend this. For those looking to switch from heavy creams or emulsions to lighter hydrating gels or moisturizers this summer, this product perfectly delivers that desired balance of hydration and freshness. The gentle ingredients didn't trigger any blemishes either! There was some pilling if you apply other creams before it fully absorbs. Make sure to pat it in thoroughly before applying makeup! It works great as a standalone moisturizer after toner for oily summer skin, replacing your usual cream or emulsion. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 17, 2019Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Moisturizing and lightweight formula Smooth application Quick absorption without stickiness Volume Is the volume... always this small? I've never seen such a tiny ampoule before... I have at least five other ampoules at home, and they're all more than twice the size of this one. Blemishes I experienced some breakouts on my skin. This might vary depending on individual skin types, but in my case, my skin had been in great condition lately with no blemishes at all. However, I started getting breakouts on my forehead, cheeks, and chin. When I stopped using it, my skin went back to normal. Brightening effect I couldn't really see any brightening effects, possibly because it's summer and changes are less noticeable. Also, the testing period after receiving the product was quite short, so there was almost no visible effect. I would have liked to use it longer and add a review about the brightening effects, but I'm afraid of my skin breaking out again... I won't be repurchasing and probably wouldn't recommend it either. - sk******Combination SkinRecommendedJun 17, 2019Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

I couldn't use it every day, as there were times I didn't wash my face when staying in (haha). When I only used my regular toner and the Better Me serum before bed, my skin's oil and moisture balance was maintained well until the next evening. Usually, I just apply a light, clean-ingredient toner and move on to the next step without applying anything else. My skin isn't particularly sensitive and doesn't react badly to most cosmetics. This product suited me well too! It seems gentle overall. What I especially loved was the scent! I'm a fan of bergamot, and this has a subtle, pleasant bergamot fragrance that I adore! While the brightening effect wasn't dramatically noticeable, when I checked my skin to write this review, I felt like my complexion looked more vibrant and brighter than before. I wish I had taken before and after photos! I didn't experience any blemishes. There weren't really any downsides, except maybe that the price isn't exactly budget-friendly? Still, considering the ingredients and functions, it seems reasonably priced compared to other essences. I've only used it for two weeks so far... Since it's a brightening product, I wish I had taken before and after photos like other reviewers (I might try again after another two weeks). This isn't exactly a pro tip, but on the first day when I applied it, my skin felt a bit dry, so I layered my usual essence on top. However, the next morning when I cleansed, my skin texture didn't feel great. It seems that applying a light toner followed by the Better Me serum is the best way to experience its effects. - hy*******Combination SkinRecommendedJun 17, 2019Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

I got to use this product after winning a Hwahae event. The product costs 18,000 won. At first, it felt quite slippery when applied, but it quickly absorbed, leaving my skin feeling hydrated. It absorbs so well that you can move straight to applying cream after. Texture: Not too light, but a decent type that seems suitable for oily and combination skin. I like the packaging of the dropper - it fits perfectly into the bottle opening without going in at an angle, allowing for clean usage. I didn't experience any blemishes while using this product, so I was able to use it comfortably. It's a decent type, but I couldn't feel anything particularly special about it. The price also seems average. After applying the product, gently pat your face to help it absorb! Since my foundation has a very thick consistency, I mixed a bit of this product with it when applying! - dl*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJun 17, 2019Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

The scent is slightly floral? They say it contains xylitol, so maybe that's why... But it's not an overpowering fragrance! The scent itself isn't particularly strong either. The texture feels watery when applying, but becomes more elastic once it's on the skin! So even though I have dry skin, I didn't feel too parched after using just this serum following my toner. I was worried I'd use up more than half the bottle in a week due to its small size, but a little goes a long way in terms of hydration, so it's lasting longer than expected! I think it'll easily last about 3 months. The ingredients are clean, so even with my sensitive skin, I didn't experience any hives or reactions. Often when I try new cosmetics, I feel a stinging sensation at first, but with this product, there was none of that. As for effectiveness, being a brightening ampoule, I felt my skin became a bit clearer! The hydration was good, and I felt like my skin's elasticity improved too. It's like my skin became more supple and firm. I don't think it's particularly cheap for its volume! Even if it lasts longer than expected, I feel like the value for money might be a bit lower compared to other serums. Among the benefits listed on the official website, there was mention of dead skin cell removal, but for that... I think it's better to use exfoliating pads or peeling gels.
