First off, when you open the case, that signature MAC chocolate scent is just divine! If you have a deep undertone, I'd recommend this even more. It's matte, but not overly drying. I'm using this product without a single complaint. The only downside is that it's frequently out of stock online.

Because of this, it doesn't make you look washed out, but actually quite pretty. When applied lightly, it looks natural, and as you layer it on the lips, it becomes more muted and deep. I was really surprised when I first applied it, but the more I used it, the more I found myself reaching for it. My skin is on the darker side and I have two-toned lips, so choosing lipstick colors has always been a challenge. But Taupe is just so easy to apply - a quick swipe and a bit of blending, and it looks absolutely beautiful. It's MAC, so... what more needs to be said? The absorbs well, and the color payoff is excellent. Just a heads up - don't rely too much on the swatch photo! It was taken in low light, so there's quite a difference from how it looks in person. It transfers easily onto everything. I'm generally quite forgiving when it comes to cosmetics, so apart from the transfer issue, I think it's pretty good. However, because it smudges so easily, I can't really wear it with a mask. First off, it's perfect as a deep undertone base. While using bright red or other high-saturation colors can make you look terribly tacky, this shade gives off a sophisticated vibe. Wow, I was totally obsessed with nude brown shades after binge-watching foreign beauty gurus' makeup videos. After much deliberation, I finally got this love-hate Taupe shade. Looking at it now, I still want to repurchase it. Would you be interested? It's beautiful. No, it's really beautiful. I mean, it's just gorgeous. It's not extremely matte, but sometimes when my lip condition is at its worst, it can slightly emphasize dead skin cells. The color payoff and application are great. It glides on smoothly without being too matte. The color leans towards brown, so it might not suit those who prefer lighter or pinkish lip colors. The staying power is quite poor. It doesn't stain the lips at all. I used it without major issues, but it might not be suitable for those who prioritize long-lasting wear. Since it's a darker shade, I found it works better when layered with a lip color that has a bit more of a reddish tone, rather than using it alone.
