Bought this on a staff recommendation. It really does a great job of clearing out pores and removing blackheads. This one product takes care of all my cleansing needs. Rinses off easily with water. The reason I deducted one star is that while it's great in every aspect and nearly perfect, for some unknown reason, around that time I developed clogged pores, like tiny bumps and skin tags, around my chin, cheeks, and between my eyebrows. Though it could have been due to other factors. That day I ended up spending hundreds at the dermatologist, and feeling uneasy about it, I stopped using the product afterward. I hope it wasn't because of you... - bg***Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 1, 2020
I've been using this for years and absolutely love it! No need for separate exfoliation... My blackheads have almost disappeared too. It's so convenient and effective to have exfoliation and cleansing in one product. There's not really anything bad... If I had to mention one thing, it's a bit messy when pumping as it sometimes runs down the bottle, which can be annoying. Wash your hands thoroughly, then pump 3-4 times and gently massage it onto your face in circular motions. Rinse your hands with lukewarm water, then massage your face again in circles. Finally, rinse everything off with lukewarm water and you're done! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedSep 14, 2019
The Kiss Me mascara comes off easily even without using a special remover... It also seems to effectively dissolve blackheads... Since I started using this, I've been getting blemishes on my chin... I'm not sure if it's this product or something else causing the issue... But since the breakouts started after I began using this, I suspect it might be the culprit... - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 6, 2019
The product itself seems gentle. While it doesn't completely eliminate blackheads, it does appear to dissolve them to some extent. It's a bit disappointing that the effects aren't dramatically noticeable. - he*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 29, 2019
It effortlessly removes makeup in one go. However, it's a bit light, so it can be a bit of a hassle when you're wearing heavy makeup. The product volume is too small and it's quite expensive. Plus, there's the inconvenience of having to double cleanse. The staff said double cleansing isn't necessary, but I always do it anyway! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinSep 26, 2017
I previously used MAC Cleanse Off Oil Original and loved it. I was about to repurchase it when I heard the Tranquil version was more hydrating for dry skin, so I decided to try it. It definitely feels more moisturizing than the original. I usually wear base makeup, concealer, foundation, and even the hard-to-remove Kiss Me mascara, but this oil removes everything effortlessly. The cleansing effectiveness is so good that I don't need a second cleanse - even when I wipe with toner after washing, there's no residue left. I used to do a second cleanse because I disliked the oily feeling, but a MAC employee told me it could actually make my skin drier. I've tried 5-6 cleansing oils, and this one doesn't fall short in terms of cleansing power compared to other products. I actually went to buy the original version but was told there wasn't much difference, so I got this one instead. However, something didn't agree with my skin - on days when my skin was feeling sensitive, I'd get an allergic reaction on my cheeks! After purchasing, I checked the ingredients and found they're quite different from the original. If you have sensitive skin, the original might be better for you. I'm still trying to figure out which ingredient is causing the issue, but I can't pinpoint it. Apart from this and the steep price, it's an okay product. Oh, and I think the original is better at removing excess sebum. In the case of MAC, they sell small travel-sized versions, so it's a good idea to try that first. If it works well for you, then go for the full-size product! It's better than spending a lot on the full size and getting frustrated if it doesn't suit your skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinApr 4, 2017
The gentle scent of chamomile is quite pleasant. The most significant advantage of this cleansing oil seems to be its refreshing feel. It applies lightly and emulsifies into a thin, lightweight texture. After rinsing, my skin feels moisturized and soft to the touch. The hydrated sensation isn't from added moisturizers, but rather my skin itself feels naturally supple. It's also very gentle. As someone with super sensitive skin, I'm definitely considering repurchasing this product. I'm not sure how well it would work for those who wear heavy makeup due to its light consistency. I typically apply a thin layer of base and foundation, and when I used only this oil for cleansing, I didn't feel like anything was left behind. Still, just to be safe, I sometimes follow up with a second cleanse. On days when I only wear sunscreen, I cleanse with just this oil, and there's no residue on the cotton pad afterward. It's worth noting that this isn't a thick oil, but rather a water-like consistency. As a result, it feels like the product is used up quite quickly, even when using small amounts. Just a feeling, you know! I first tried this when a MAC store associate used it to remove my makeup during a touch-up session. I was impressed by how gentle and refreshing it felt, which led me to purchase it. As someone with super sensitive skin who struggles with exfoliation, I was told that massaging with this oil twice a week could effectively remove dead skin cells without irritation. This was a great tip for me since scrubs tend to be too harsh on my skin, and I was looking for a gentler way to exfoliate. I've been following this advice for my skincare routine, and it's been working well for me. - jo***************Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRednessAug 17, 2016
It removes makeup gently and effectively. There's no tightness, and it leaves my skin feeling hydrated. It's also low on irritation. I know you're supposed to remove point makeup separately, but I prefer all-in-one products that take everything off at once. I worry about rubbing my eyes with cotton pads, as it can be irritating and might cause wrinkles. I switched from Shu Uemura cleansing oil to try this one, and I'm quite satisfied with it. Perhaps because it's so gentle, I don't get that thoroughly cleansed feeling. It doesn't seem to deep-clean my pores as effectively as I'd like. I always feel the need to double cleanse because it leaves me feeling a bit unsure about how clean my skin really is. A MAC employee told me that when using MAC cleansing oil, there's no need for a second cleanse! - wo**************Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 22, 2016
As someone with super sensitive skin that usually breaks out after a few days of wearing makeup, I'm amazed by this product. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and removes makeup effectively. Since I started using it, I've decided to stick with it exclusively. It's fantastic at cleansing without causing any blemishes - I'm totally impressed! The only downside is the small quantity. It runs out so quickly! I really wish they'd come out with a larger size. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 15, 2015
I usually wear light daily makeup, and this cleanser removed it thoroughly. It left my skin feeling clean and hydrated, which I love. As someone with dry skin, I really appreciated that it didn't leave my face feeling tight or stripped. I switched to this from the Laneige Pore Cleansing Oil, and I think Laneige might be a bit better for pore care. It seems like I'll need to do some extra work to manage blackheads with this one.
