I really liked the Ahava mud pack with salt granules before, so this time I tried the gold mask. It comes with a dedicated spatula, so it's easy to use. Scoop it out once and apply it under one eye, scoop it out again and apply to the other side, then spread it out one more time on the forehead, nose, and chin - it feels like the whole jar can be used up in just three applications. After applying, I get a very subtle tingling sensation on my face. I'm not sure if it's drawing out toxins or the gold is working on my skin, but there's a faint sensation. Then after about 10 minutes, I rinse it off with lukewarm water and my face feels soft and has a bit of a golden glow to it. It's not an intense glow, though. But before rinsing, if I rub my face, the mask peels off like rubber. I'm not exactly sure what effects it has on my skin, but last time I had some blemishes and breakouts that weren't going away, and after using this mask, the inflammation went down and the breakouts disappeared... I believe it was the effect of this mask, so I'll try it again next time I have a flare-up to confirm.

I've always loved mud packs for my pore issues, and during my diligent search, I discovered the Ahava Gold Mask!!! The mud packs I've been using so far were great right after application, but they would dry out too much, becoming irritating or overly dry over time!! The application of this product is top-notch!! It spreads on like a moisturizer!! The included silicone spatula also seems to help a lot~ Even after using it, there's an overwhelming sense of nourishment. It doesn't feel like my skin is being pulled, but rather like a protective layer has been applied, filling my skin with deep hydration~
