Among the Etude pencil eyeliners, the brown one is really good, but the black one smudges. I've tried both. It seems there's bound to be a difference in formula between colors. I've used various brands of pencil eyeliners, so I have my own big data, and surprisingly, black colors tend to smudge a lot, while brown colors smudge relatively less. Hearing similar reviews from others, it seems this observation holds some truth. If you really want to draw a deep, intense eyeliner in black, I'd recommend choosing a gel liner or liquid liner instead of a pencil type! If you're looking to buy the Etude Proof 10 Pencil, I strongly suggest going for the brown shades. The black one smudges. - he****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 29, 2024
It seems no one can match Etude's affordable gel pencil eyeliner with its smooth application. I've been loyal to it for over a decade. The only downside is that it's an Etude product. That's how flawless it is - there's hardly anything to criticize. - 5m********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesOct 5, 2023
It doesn't wash off in water and it's relatively inexpensive, so you can buy it without hesitation. It's incredibly defined - about fifteen times more defined than in the photo! It applies too thickly and breaks easily. I only managed to use it about 10 times before it broke. - dr*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedApr 16, 2023
1) The ingredients are excellent. Many black liners contain talc, so I was thrilled to discover this one after extensive research. 2) The staying power is impressive. It may smudge a bit when it meets oily areas, but you can easily fix it with powder or eyeshadow. 3) The price is wallet-friendly too! I haven't found any drawbacks yet. If you accidentally apply too much to your waterline, it might sting a little, but that's common with most liners. Since there's nothing to complain about, I hope they keep producing this for a long time without discontinuing it. There's a sharpener built into the back of the liner. You can use it to reshape the tip whenever it gets blunt, keeping it nice and pointed! - hi*****Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 18, 2023
It glides on smoothly, making application effortless. Very user-friendly. I wish the pencil was a bit thinner. It's just okay, nothing special. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 29, 2022
It absorbs so smoothly without feeling heavy at all! The color applies evenly and intensely from start to finish, with no pilling. The downside is that it tends to smudge a bit. I suppose this could be due to its ultra-smooth texture, though. The deep black color makes it perfect for tightlining or creating a cat-eye look! - 87*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedAug 7, 2022
It's a product I use occasionally, but it's always satisfying when I do. It doesn't harden or draw stiffly. I love the slim pencil design, and you can create a pretty look without needing advanced skills. If they ever release a matte brown shade, I'd buy it in a heartbeat - I've thought about it 3,847,449 times! The scent is... reminiscent of First Aid ointment and crayons. Is it because it's waterproof? I've always wondered why it has such an unusual smell. - ha**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessApr 23, 2022
The thin pencil is great for precise application, and it delivers a bold, vivid color Am I the only one experiencing smudging? It doesn't glide on smoothly and tends to smear... - rl*******Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 5, 2021
+ The color payoff is amazing! Just one swipe gives a bold, defined line. I bought it without hesitation. + It seems the same product has been slightly revamped, now called "#1 Bold Black"! + I love that you can adjust the length at the bottom, making it retractable like a glue stick. + I was surprised by how gentle the ingredients are for a color cosmetic. This might become my holy grail. + Even though I have an autumn warm tone, the black suited me well! I think it's because it applies so naturally. + No blemishes at all! + I was so satisfied with how easily it washed off with foam cleanser! I prefer makeup products that remove easily. While it's waterproof, it does come off easily! You might need to apply your makeup more thoroughly, especially be careful to avoid dark circles! After applying, I set the liner by patting eyeshadow over it and spritzed a fixer all over my face! That way, it doesn't budge unless there's significant friction. The photo was taken during a foam cleanser review, showing #1 Bold Black applied along with a deep brown eyeshadow. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinSep 14, 2021
It's affordable and hardly smudges at all, which is great! The liner is too thick, and it doesn't show up as well on the eyes as it does on the back of my hand. It feels a bit soft, so be careful not to sharpen it too much or it might break easily. It tends to snap...
