I end up washing my face with something else first, then using this tea tree cleanser as a final step. Just to get some of the tea tree benefits.

The downside is that when you squeeze the right amount into your hand and mix it with water at a 1:1 ratio, rubbing your hands together doesn't create a lather - it just becomes sticky. You need to use about a 1:5 ratio of product to water to get a good foam for washing your face. The cleansing effectiveness is quite low. It's less like a soap and more like an emulsion with a bit of soap mixed in. Because of this, it barely cleanses at all.

As someone with sensitive skin but not typically acne-prone, I bought this when my skin suddenly flared up, hearing it was low pH. Initially, I was worried because it didn't give that squeaky-clean feeling after washing. However, my skin calmed down and the dryness significantly reduced. After using this, I tried a different cleansing foam once, and my face felt so tight and flaky while washing that now I always make sure to bring this along wherever I go, even though the bottle is quite large!
