1. It has more color than I expected, so when I'm going out with a bare face, applying this gives me a bit of a lively look. 2. The hydration was surprisingly good! I'm considering repurchasing. I couldn't really find any specific drawbacks, but the texture melts easily and gets smudged quickly. Also, the taste wasn't great... It's really great for daily use! - yo**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinJan 24, 2021
I haven't used it many times, but here are the pros: 1. Ingredients Except for the fragrance, the ingredients are very safe. It's especially noteworthy that this tinted lip balm uses natural extracts for color. So even if you're sensitive to all types of colorants, whether synthetic or natural, you might want to give this a try. I have super sensitive skin, but I didn't experience any blemishes. 2. Moisturizing effect Perhaps because it's mostly oil-based, it's very moisturizing and the hydration lasts long. I have chronic rhinitis, so my lips are always dry, but even when I applied it before bed, my lips didn't dry out overnight. 3. Oval shape The size is just right, and I found it easier to apply to the lips compared to the usual round shape. Unfortunately, there's one major drawback for me... 1. Scent This seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it situation, and for me, it was definitely the latter. So much so that I ended up not using it at all. It has this artificial, cheap cherry scent that reminds me of low-quality candy. Despite its many advantages, this flaw was a deal-breaker for me. I bought it online, so honestly, it felt like a gamble that didn't pay off. If possible, I strongly recommend smelling it before purchasing. * Natural color payoff Since it doesn't contain colorants, you need to apply several layers for the color to show up, and it doesn't have much staying power or staining effect. However, considering it only uses natural extracts for color, I think it's not bad. It's a matter of personal preference - some might find it gives a nice, natural flush to the lips, while others might feel it lacks color and only provides moisture. I'm not sure whether to list this as a pro or a con... If you're buying this because of the word 'tint' in the name, please be aware that this product doesn't have much color payoff, and you might want to look for a different product. - qo*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedNov 22, 2020
The flat shape, rather than a round one, made it super easy to apply on my lips. It gives a natural, lively look to my lips without being too overwhelming, so I'm using it comfortably. The lip moisturizing effect is great, making it perfect for applying when I'm out. I also use it before bed, and while it doesn't exfoliate, I love that it doesn't emphasize dead skin cells when I apply lip products the next day. The twist-up design tends to break easily... Mine broke after just a week of use, so now I have to push it up with my lips. The cherry scent reminds me of toy lipsticks from childhood, which might be a love-it-or-hate-it fragrance for some people. - po**************Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 13, 2020
《Review of Hello Black Cherry Lip Balm》 First off, this product worked well for me, and I wasn't bothered by its melting tendency, so I'm giving it a full five stars! ☺︎ What I Loved ☺︎ ⚀ Hydration ⚀ The hydration is truly fantastic! I used to wake up to a flaky lip party, but after gently wiping my lips, they became incredibly smooth! I was absolutely amazed. In terms of hydration, Hello's unscented version and this one are the best. ⚁ Scent ⚁ The scent is quite unique - it's a cherry fragrance. I bought it expecting something like ChapStick's cherry lip balm, but it actually smells like dried cherries, which surprised me. There might be a slightly peculiar undertone? I like it, but my aunt thinks the scent is a bit off-putting. Some reviews mention this too. ⚂ Ingredients ⚂ It's vegan, cruelty-free, and known for its good ingredients, which is why I bought it immediately. While my lips aren't particularly sensitive, I do prioritize lip care and pay attention to ingredients. Hello's products have really, really good ingredients, so despite being a bit pricey for the amount, I purchased it right away! ⚃ Color ⚃ The color payoff is really nice. I was worried because it's a dark red shade, but it applies so naturally and beautifully - I'm 500% satisfied. I find myself reaching for the Hello cherry lip balm more often than tints or lipsticks, especially after light makeup. ⚄ Design ⚄ The design was actually the first thing that drew me in. Unlike typical round lip balms, it has an oval-shaped case with an adorable cherry logo that's just too cute to resist. The oval shape is brilliantly designed as it doesn't roll away easily. I used to lose lip balms all the time because they'd roll off and get damaged, but not this one! The semi-transparent matte case pairs beautifully with the deep burgundy color. Plus, unlike other lip balms that stick out in your pocket, this one fits snugly and discreetly - it's so satisfying. ⚅ Incredible Moisture ⚅ Wow... just wow. I've always disliked the feeling of something coating my lips, so even though I carried lip balm everywhere, I applied it reluctantly. But this one feels incredibly light, like a feather, with no discomfort, and it's so, so moisturizing. I apply it all the time now! 🙄 Room for Improvement 🙄 💦 Quantity 💦 The amount is a bit small. Maybe because it melts quickly, it seems to run out faster. 💦 Lip Balm Case Malfunction 💦 When you twist the lip balm all the way up, it doesn't go back down. I have to push it down with my finger, which wastes some product. However, this issue tends to resolve itself with use, so I didn't consider it a major drawback. 💦 Temperature Sensitivity 💦 It melts really, really easily. Even with just a bit of heat, if you twist it all the way up, it becomes all wobbly like jelly. Since I like jelly, I find it cute and keep using it. 🌒 Many people seem disappointed about how easily the lip balm melts. If it melts, don't check by twisting it up. Instead, put it in the fridge for 5 minutes, then check how much has melted. Also, make sure you haven't accidentally left it on an electric blanket or near a heater, which could cause leakage. 🌓 About the malfunctioning wheel that raises the lip balm: If you only twist the wheel, it won't go back down. First, twist it down, then use your finger to push the lip balm down. Repeat this about 10 times or use it regularly, and it should fix itself. 🌔 Some people say the color is too weak, others say it's too strong, and some find it just right. If you're wondering whether it's good for daily use, remember that the color intensity can vary. If it melts a lot, the color becomes stronger. If it's kept cool, the color might be weaker. Storing it at a moderate temperature should be fine. 🌕 If you want color but don't like melting: Apply the lip balm in a cool place, then spread it with your finger in a warmer area for the desired effect. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 3, 2020
- Shape I bought this on a whim because of its unique oval shape, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. While it might not be for everyone, I found it perfect for my fuller lips, allowing me to apply it in one smooth swipe. Those with thinner lips might find it easier to apply horizontally. - Ingredients It's vegan, and the ingredients seem decent. To be honest, I'm not an expert, but it doesn't have any unpleasant taste, which is reassuring. - Scent It has a Baskin Robbins Rainbow Sherbet scent. While it smells delicious, it doesn't taste like much. As a Rainbow Sherbet fan, I absolutely love this. However, the scent fades quickly. - Color As someone who doesn't wear makeup, I was worried about intense colors, but this lip balm's tint is just right. If you're looking for bold color payoff, you might want to look elsewhere. The pigmentation is similar to Nivea Strawberry - subtle and less likely to transfer. - Texture It melts easily with body heat and glides on smoothly. I apply a single swipe during the day, and a generous amount at night for dead skin cell removal. It's one of the few lip balms that leaves my lips feeling moisturized even after washing in the morning. - Glow It has a nice sheen - a perfect balance of moisture without being too glossy. I'd say it's comparable to the glow of Burt's Bees Pomegranate or ChapStick. - Staying power It doesn't stick like glue, which might make you think it's not absorbing. However, even after wiping it off, you'll notice your lips still feel hydrated. In my opinion, a lip balm's longevity is about maintaining moisture, not about how long it sits on your lips, so I'd say its staying power is quite good. - Overall I'm satisfied with how well it meets my needs. It's versatile enough for day and night use, which is convenient. But what I love most is definitely the scent. - There's not much I dislike, but if I had to nitpick, the oval shape can deform slightly as you use it, conforming to your lip contours. However, since it's soft, you can easily reshape it by applying it horizontally a few times. - It's a bit slippery, but at least it's not sticky. - No matter how good the ingredients are, I always wipe off my lip balm with a tissue before eating anything. - It's cheaper if you buy it online. - There are many other scents available. The orange, lemon, and lime ones smell just like Chupa Chups - even more so than the actual Chupa Chups lip balms I've tried before. The Earl Grey scent is reminiscent of Gong Cha's Earl Grey Milk Tea. Overall, the products have deliciously appealing scents. - b2********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 4, 2020
I had to rush to Olive Young because I forgot my lip balm, but I'm glad I did! This one is so moisturizing and nice. It has a sweet scent, doesn't feel sticky, and applies smoothly. I did some research and found out it's a vegan lip balm that wasn't tested on animals, which makes me feel even better about using it! Well... the price is a bit wicked. I bought it at full price because I was in a hurry, but I think you might be able to get it a bit cheaper during Olive Young's sale periods. The lip balm sticks out quite a bit, so you have to be careful when closing it to avoid getting it on the cap. Also, the scent fades quickly, which is a bit disappointing. The more you apply, the better it works! It's obvious, but worth mentioning. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 28, 2020
Natural-looking, affordable, and now even available at Olive Young (though a bit pricier there) Smudges easily, and the cap gets stuck with use. But it's cheap, so how long will I keep using this cheap stick? - ns*****Dehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsMar 21, 2020
The vegan-friendly ingredients are gentle, and it's wonderfully hydrating. Given the many reviews about it melting on hot days, it feels more like a moisturizing lip balm, which I love. As for the cherry one, expect minimal color payoff. It just adds a slight natural flush to your lips. The scent is disappointing! I bought four different lip balms, and they all have this common underlying smell, which I'm not fond of. It's not just a fresh cherry scent; there's also a slightly unpleasant odor mixed in. Unfortunately, this applies to the other scented lip balms in the line as well. - sm*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesMar 10, 2020
A toned-down red. I bought it to wear with a bare face. When first applied, it feels moisturizing like a lip balm... The moisturizing effect disappears quickly. After using this, my lips became wrinkled and dry. It caused a lot of fine lines and dryness, even though I originally had lips without much dead skin. I felt my lip condition getting worse, so I stopped using it. It felt like my lip inflammation was recurring... The same happened with Isoi tint lip balm. Strangely, when I use natural tint lip balms, my lips get dry, wrinkled, and lined instead. I even develop lip inflammation with blister-like symptoms. I suspected beeswax or carmine, but this product doesn't contain either... I'm genuinely curious why my lips react this way... - ch*******Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 10, 2020
My lips are quite pale, almost colorless, and they easily crack and turn whitish when dry. Regular lip balms provide moisture, but I wasn't satisfied with how they looked on my lips. After trying various products, I found this one. The best thing about it is that it gives my lips a natural, healthy-looking flush. It also has decent hydration, so I'm quite pleased with this product. The downside is that I need to reapply it frequently, which is a bit disappointing. Other lip balms I've used, while not tinted, seemed to last longer. With the Holo lip balm, I find myself reapplying often because it doesn't stay on for very long. Of course, I've gotten used to reapplying regularly now, so it doesn't bother me much! I would repurchase this product.
