When it comes to cleansing products, the important factors are cleansing power, finish, and moisturization. 🌺The cleansing power seems to remove most things except mascara. When using the cleansing balm alone, mascara, eyeliner, and tint were still left behind, but when using the cleansing towel together, only mascara residue remained. 🌺In terms of finish, the cleansing balm ranks as follows: tissue > cream > balm > oil, with the tissue having the best finish. 🌺The moisturization is quite hydrating. As a cleansing product, it's slightly drying, but less so compared to other cleansing products. +Hwahae rating...I raised it from 4 to 5 stars! The reason is that when I first posted the review, I didn't have much time to use it, but the more I use it, the more I love it. Without separate exfoliation, my skin becomes baby-soft after using this product. I was also surprised that it removes blackheads. However, the sponge seems to retain residue over time, and I'll need to buy a new one eventually, but it hasn't caused any issues yet.
ConsThe downside is probably the price...ㅜㅜ I'm lucky to have received it through the Hwahae trial, but I don't think I'd be able to repurchase it. Also, as an unfamiliar brand, I don't have much trust in it. And the scent was disliked by me ㅜㅜ I wonder if they really had to add so much fragrance ㅜ It smells like my grandma's cosmetics@&@ The ingredients also don't seem that great ㅜㅅㅜ If I happen to get acne or my skin gets worse, I'll come back and use it again.
TipYou really need to use the cleansing towel to get the best results. The two seem to work well together ㅎㅁㅎ

I usually just rub my nose with cleansing oil and wipe off eye and lip makeup with cleansing tissues or lip and eye remover, and then finish with a cleansing foam. However, this cleansing balm didn't sting my eyes and had less oiliness than cleansing oil, so it was great for removing blackheads from my nose and as a substitute for cleansing tissues to remove eye makeup. And it removed even heavy makeup very cleanly, which I really liked.
ConsThe price is a bit burdensome to purchase directly, but the amount seems to be more than the cleansing balms I've used before.
TipFor those who do multi-step cleansing, using this balm and then a two-step cleansing with a cleansing foam would be great. Of course, this is only if you don't have full makeup on! And be sure to use the included towel.

The balm-type cleansing was very good at gently removing makeup. 2. When I woke up, my skin felt moisturized and supple (I have combination skin). 3. The citrus scent and the rich yet smooth texture allowed me to use it without much resistance. There is definitely a reason why this product is so well-known. It gave me a glimpse of the smooth and soft skin of my 20s, like a peeled hard-boiled egg.
ConsThe price is a bit expensive. ㅜㅜ The price is a concern that makes me think twice. As someone who is incredibly lazy, I don't have the confidence to wash the included towel every day. So I ended up just using a soft disposable cotton pad instead.
TipIt seems to effectively remove excess sebum as well. Try rolling it on the areas around your nose too.

So I am very careful about what I put on my face, especially when it comes to cleansing. I used to use an oil-based cleanser, but after hearing that it could be a cause of acne, I've been using a gel-type cleanser. This time, I applied for this cleansing balm because I thought it would be less burdensome than an oil-based cleanser. ⚽️ Product packaging: The packaging is larger and heavier than expected. Since it's a glass container, I'll need to decant it into a separate container when traveling. (♥ ♥ ♡ ♡ ♡) 🏀 Amount: As this was my first time using a balm-type cleanser, I wasn't sure about the right amount at first. But as I used it, I realized that a small amount, about the size of a 50-cent coin, is enough to effectively remove my makeup. So the amount is quite generous. (♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥) 🥎 Fragrance: Cleansing products' fragrances tend to be quite divisive. This one isn't particularly pleasant, but it's not overpowering or irritating either. It's more of an "hmm..." kind of fragrance. (♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♡) 🏉 Cleansing power: Cleansing power is the most important aspect of a cleansing product. I usually use an eye and lip makeup remover first, and then use this product to cleanse the rest of my face. The cleansing power seems good - on the days when I wore lighter eye makeup, I was able to skip the makeup remover and just use this, and it still removed everything thoroughly. It gently removes makeup residue when massaged and rinsed off. (♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥) 🎱 Irritation: As a sensitive, acne-prone skin type, I'm very careful about cleansing irritation. But using this cleansing balm, I didn't experience any breakouts or worsening of my acne. (♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♡)
Cons♟As I mentioned earlier, there were a few aspects of the packaging that I found a bit disappointing. A lighter container would have made it more convenient to use! And the need to use a spatula (which is understandable given the product type, but can be a bit of a hassle when you're feeling lazy). 🚨There's also the inconvenience of having to wash the included soft cloth used to remove makeup after each use. 🚡The price is also a bit on the higher side, which might be a barrier for some to purchase it. 🛴 The divisive fragrance is also a bit of a letdown. But as I said, it's not an overpowering or unpleasant smell - just a bit of an "hmm..." kind of fragrance.
TipI used the included cloth to cleanse my face. When used as a wipe-off type on the face, (there was a slight irritation) but I was able to remove my makeup more thoroughly. And if someone finds the cloth too irritating, they could also try dampening a cotton pad with water and using that to wipe off the product instead.

The cleansing works well, and it gently and moisturizes to thoroughly remove not only impurities but also heavy point makeup cleanly, which seems great.
ConsIt might be too oily, so it could be burdensome for oily or troubled skin types. Also, since it's a product I received through the Hwahae Trial Reviewer program, I didn't have that concern, but the price seems too high and burdensome.

I have a combination skin type that is very close to oily. When cleansing, I usually use a cleansing balm for heavy makeup and a cleansing water or gel for regular makeup. I wanted to compare this product to the one I've been using. 1. Fragrance The fragrance may be divisive, but I enjoy the aesthetic product scent, so it was fine for me. 2. Texture It's oily but has good adherence, and while I was a bit worried it might be too heavy and not rinse off well, there was minimal residue left, which I liked. 3. Cleansing Power The most important factor, the cleansing power, worked well for me even with heavy makeup. I usually do a light second cleanse, and after using this product, the second cleanse left my skin thoroughly clean. Also, since it's a balm, it doesn't run, which is a plus.
Cons1. Price The price seems to be the biggest issue. There are many great products out there, so spending a significant amount on cleansing felt relatively expensive to me. 2. Ingredients I'm quite sensitive to ingredients, and the inclusion of PEG and phenoxyethanol surprised and disappointed me. This is a downside.
TipSince it's a balm, it can be used with a brush, but I found that using my hands to melt it and cleanse was more effective and comfortable.

But it would still be good to do a second cleansing. Or you could wipe with a cleansing water first, and then do the second cleansing with this product. Wiping with the towel seems to remove sebum well too. - The ingredients didn't seem that great, and I was worried my acne-prone skin might get worse, but after cleansing and waking up, my skin looked so much better. It looked brighter and more lively. At night, the tightness after cleansing was also less noticeable.
Cons- I didn't really feel like the fragrance was that great. But it didn't affect the usage that much either. - The towel felt a bit rough, actually. It felt soft when I touched it with my hands, but when I used it to wipe my face, it was a bit painful. It could be because I have acne-prone skin. - Considering the amount, the price is too expensive for me to buy with my own money.
Tip-You don't need to use a lot, as a small amount is enough for cleansing. -I liked using a cleansing water first and then using this for the second cleansing.

Skin type: First, I have a slight case of atopic dermatitis and extremely dry skin, but I don't have any major skin troubles, just some annoying small whiteheads. Usage experience: Since my face is very dry, I've been using cleansing oils exclusively for cleansing, but the skin care shop recommended that I try a cleansing balm, so I decided to give it a try. After using it, I definitely felt that a cleansing balm is perfect for my dry skin. The Emma Hardie cleansing balm, in particular, has excellent moisturizing properties, so even after rinsing my face and washing my hair, my face didn't feel tight and maintained a dewy, moisturized feel. Usage method: Scoop out a spoonful with the included spatula, melt it a bit in your hands, and then massage it onto your face. (I don't wear eye makeup, but it seems to remove lip and brow makeup well too!) The included towel is amazing!!!!! After massaging for a bit, soak the included towel in warm water, wring it out, and use it to wipe off the balm. It rinses off really well (it even gets clean with just water alone). Since I have dry skin, I didn't do a second cleanse with a cleansing product, just rinsed my face with lukewarm water one more time, and then patted it dry. Irritation & Fragrance: The cleansing balm becomes more oily-textured when it touches your hands, but there was no significant irritation when massaging it onto my face. As for the fragrance, some people said it's not great, but I, with my sensitive nose, didn't find it bothersome at all. Overall, the best part was the moisturizing properties. I think this would be great for people with dryness, tightness, or dehydration issues.
ConsI did see some concerning ingredients when I checked the ingredients on Hwahae, which made me a bit uneasy. However, since this is a rinse-off product, I'm not too worried about it. I was also glad to see that Emma Hardie doesn't conduct animal testing. And yes, it is quite pricey... The price is high, which is understandable given the quality ingredients, but it is still quite expensive. Haha.
TipI noticed that when I gently massaged the cleansing balm around my nose area, the sebum in my pores seemed to melt away. And using the warm towel to wipe and pat the balm off felt like it cleansed my skin more effectively and was less irritating. (That's probably why the skin care shop recommended using the warm towel method.) For those with extremely dry skin, just using the towel to wipe and pat dry, without a second cleanse, should be sufficient.

And the fact that it's a product made in the UK is another o0o!!! 🌿 Cleansing Power My usual cleansing routine was to do a primary cleanse with cleansing water, followed by a secondary cleanse with cleansing oil and cleansing foam. By skipping the cleansing water and oil steps and just using the cloth with the balm, the cleansing was just as thorough as using oil, and there was no tightness. Makeup on my lips and skin was also removed cleanly, which I was satisfied with! 🌿 Moisturizing & Irritation I was a bit skeptical about how it would compare to cleansing oil, but I didn't need to worry. It kept my skin moisturized while thoroughly cleansing impurities. My skin felt supple and bouncy after cleansing 🐿 I've never used a cleansing cloth before, so I'm not sure if I used it properly, but it seems like it could be used for steam cleansing or pore cleaning. And luckily, it agreed well with my sensitive, combination skin type that's prone to breakouts. I think it would be a great fit for dry skin types!
Cons🌱 The only downside is that the price is a bit burdensome... 🌱 The scent is a bit strong, so it may be divisive for those sensitive to fragrance.
TipThe soft cloth 🦦 seems suitable for use as a steam cleansing tool as well

Spreadability First of all, it spreads very smoothly and applies well! As it is not sticky, it was comfortable to roll on! 2. Cleansing Power I usually don't use mascara and eyeliner, and just use light pearl eyeshadow and focus on lip makeup. Even with gentle rubbing, I was able to completely remove the foundation, pearl eyeshadow, and tint. Using the included towel, even heavy point makeup can be removed without any trouble. 3. No Skin Troubles Although the ingredients are not the best, I used this product daily for a week, and did not experience any skin troubles. This may vary from person to person, but it worked fine for me. As for the scent, there are mixed opinions, but I'm not sensitive to scents, so I've been using it without much thought.
Cons1. Price To be honest, the price is quite expensive for me to buy with my own money. ㅠㅠ 2. Ingredients After searching, the ingredients don't seem that great. I haven't experienced any skin troubles and it applies smoothly and removes well, but for those with very sensitive skin, you may need to be cautious. 3. Oversized Packaging The volume is large, and the packaging is too big, so as a person with small hands, it's a bit difficult for me to grip and open the container.
