I used shade 3 instead of 1. My school has strict rules, so I bought this for a subtle color. I only realized it had a plumping effect after ordering. The color seems to come out subtly as I wanted, and I didn't notice much of a plumping effect. However, when applied, it does give a slight tingling sensation. There wasn't anything particularly disappointing about it. Due to the tingling sensation when applied, those with sensitive lips might want to consider this carefully. This would be great to wear when you want a light makeup look for a casual outing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 2, 2020
As a plumping lip balm, it smooths out lip wrinkles and makes them slightly fuller. The glossy finish might enhance this effect. The color is pretty, but you need to apply it multiple times. After several applications, you might notice a slight yogurt-like texture. The plumping effect wasn't as dramatic as I expected. Still, I chose this over other brands known for intense plumping, thinking it might be better for some unknown reason. It's disappointing that the color is so sheer, requiring multiple applications to show up. I bought it for easy application, but it's not as convenient as I hoped. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 10, 2020
*The swatch on the wrist in the photo shows the Cherry Bagel shade at the top* I found it really convenient that I didn't need to apply tint over this lip balm for a lively look. The Cherry Bagel shade has a slight pink undertone that adds a fresh pop of color, perfect for quick trips to the convenience store or heading to classes. It's especially flattering for those with cool undertones, and it's a lifesaver when you're too lazy for a full face of makeup. There's a subtle plum hint that brightens up your complexion. However, it strikes a nice balance - not too brightening, but just enough to give a refreshing glow. I was really satisfied with how it sits right in that sweet spot. While there were many great things about this product, one slight drawback was that you can't retract the balm once it's pushed up. If you accidentally twist up too much, it could be quite frustrating. Other than that, I didn't experience any other issues! Since you can't retract the balm, be careful to only twist up as much as you need. Also, as you can see in the photos, while it's fine to use on its own, I noticed that if you have dry, flaky lips, this balm can make dead skin cells more noticeable. I recommend gently exfoliating your lips before applying for the best results.
