  Pros

  First off, the price is incredibly reasonable. With the improved packaging, the tint definitely doesn't leak as much! The color is the exact coral-red I was looking for, and I'm thrilled it's not an MLBB shade.

  Cons

  It applies very patchily... I know it's inevitable with water tints, but this one seems particularly bad. No matter how much I exfoliate, I can't avoid the uneven application.

  Tip

  If you apply a tinted lip balm before this tint, it reduces the typical dryness of water tints and improves the staying power too!

  Hello there! I have a deep undertone complexion. I heard Etude's Dear Darling Tint got a makeover (why did I just find out now?), so I rushed to buy it. Color: It's basically a perfect gochujang shade, but when applied, it's a nice orange-red! Staining: It doesn't come off easily - great staying power! Redesign: I used to feel a bit self-conscious applying the old version in public, but this new one looks much more sophisticated. Price: It's so affordable, making it an excellent choice for beginners in the lip tint world :)

  Cons

  Staining: How do I put this... it seems to turn pink over time? Quite surprising! Also, it's pretty resistant to cleansing, unfortunately. Application: I had high hopes because of the redesign, but alas, it still doesn't apply well on the upper lip. The patchy application is also a bit of an issue.

  Pros

  The color is beautiful! At first glance, it seemed a bit too vibrant, but as I used it, I realized how pretty it is. When you create a gradient effect, it's absolutely stunning!

  Cons

  After eating, it usually wears off on the inner part of the lips, so I have to reapply. However, when I do, the outer part feels heavy and doesn't apply smoothly. It also tends to bleed a little.

  Tip

  If you apply lip balm before the tint, it prevents those harsh lines on your lips!

  1. The color is vibrant and beautiful. 2. It applies smoothly on the lips.

  Cons

  There were quite a few disappointing aspects! Personally, it severely emphasized dead skin cells. Even after applying Vaseline and exfoliating, it still highlighted flaky skin terribly. Moreover, it barely adhered to my upper lip at all.

  Tip

  Applying a lip gloss over this water gel tint makes it look much better! I personally don't recommend using lip balm on top, as it tends to make the tint smudge and fade more easily.

  I love the beautiful color. The staying power is great too.

  Cons

  Being a water tint, it's a bit tricky to control the amount. If you apply it too thickly, it turns intensely red and looks overwhelming.

  Tip

  I just use it sparingly, lightly dabbing it over another lipstick for a quick touch-up.

  1. Perfect Fall Color They really nailed the shade for autumn. It's a deep red with just a hint of orange. I used to use Dear Darling before, but it wasn't this rich. I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful this color is when I tested it on a whim! 2. Unbeatable Price I first bought Dear Darling about 6 or 7 years ago, and it was around $4 then. It's amazing that it's still only $4 now! It's so affordable that you can easily pick one up if you've forgotten your lip color at home. 3. Water Gel Formula Usually, such deep shades come in a matte finish, but I love that this one has a water gel texture. It's moisturizing and easy to apply! 4. Flattering Stain I really dislike tints that leave a pink stain, but this one doesn't! It leaves a beautiful red-orange stain instead, which I absolutely love! I usually only use lipsticks, but I bought this tint on a whim for a change. The color is so pretty that I find myself using it often! The long-lasting stain is convenient, and above all, I'm in love with the color!

  1. Emphasizes Dead Skin Cells The stain tends to cling to dead skin cells, so it doesn't apply evenly if you have any flaky bits. Exfoliation is a must! 2. Strong Staining Power The stain is quite intense and doesn't come off easily.

  Tip

  1. Vaseline Trick If you're worried about dead skin cells, apply a generous amount of Vaseline, exfoliate, then apply the tint. It'll look moisturized and beautiful! You can also apply Vaseline over the tint for extra hydration. 2. Test It Yourself I've seen many reviews and photos, but none seem to capture the true color accurately (even my own photos don't do it justice). Also, the color can vary depending on your natural lip color and skin tone, so it's best to test it yourself if you have the chance! The actual color is deeper red and less pink than in the photos! (+ I discovered that the Dear Darling Water Gel Tint comes in over 10 shades! I tested them and they all seem to have great color payoff. Drop by Etude House and check them out for yourself!)

  I finally found the color she's been wanting! It applies so smoothly, leaving a silky finish that I absolutely love.

  If you layer Chili Red as a base and then apply Peripera's Heart-Fluttering on top, you get a nice pink-red shade that works really well.

  Pros

  The color is absolutely gorgeous! It's not too heavy, making it perfect for daily wear. You can use it alone or mix it with other products. The application feels light and pleasant. Plus, the price is incredibly reasonable, so the pros definitely outweigh the cons when you buy it.

  Unfortunately, the overall pigmentation is a bit disappointing. There are areas where it doesn't apply well, and it seems to stain unevenly in patches. Even after exfoliating, it's still not quite right. Also, I have super sensitive skin on my lips, and this product causes irritation. Those with sensitive skin might want to avoid this one.

  Tip

  I'd strongly recommend exfoliating your lips before applying this. For those who experience uneven staining, try layering a cream-type product or lipstick on top to even out the color.
