I have a normal to slightly oily scalp with thick hair, but I tend to lose a lot of hair when shampooing. After trying this product, which claims to help with oily and thinning hair, I've noticed significantly less hair fall while washing. The shampoo lathers well, but instead of leaving my hair squeaky clean, it leaves it feeling moisturized. Overall, I feel this is a suitable shampoo for those looking to prevent hair loss. The cleansing effectiveness isn't particularly strong, so those with very oily scalps might find it insufficient for their needs. - lo***********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 22, 2021
1. The cooling effect is no joke... It's not an intense menthol sensation, but it feels pleasantly refreshing when washing, making for a great user experience. 2. My scalp is a collaboration of seborrheic dermatitis and hair loss, so my hair gets excessively oily. I usually have to shampoo every day, but this one's oil-removing power is the best I've ever used. What usually takes 3 washes with other shampoos only takes 1 with this. Plus, it lathers well even with a small amount, so you can use less each time. 3. With my seborrheic scalp... the itching is usually at its worst even after shampooing. While this hasn't eliminated it 100%, it's the best I've tried! With other shampoos, I'd start scratching like crazy right after washing and about 3 hours later. But with this one, the frequency of scratching has significantly decreased. 4. The rate of oil build-up has slowed down. Seborrheic scalp is the worst combination of itching, dandruff, and excess oil. With other shampoos, my hair would get oily in less than half a day. I'd wash in the morning and need to wash again by evening. After 24 hours, it would smell and look like someone else's unwashed 3-day-old hair. But this one keeps my scalp fresh for 24 hours! Compared to others that barely lasted half a day, I'm very satisfied. 5. The amount of hair fall has slightly decreased. Due to hair loss... Well, hair fall can't be completely stopped, but it's reduced a bit. I can confidently say this after long-term use. It's not like it went from 50 strands to 5, but it seems to have decreased from about 50 to 20-30 strands. It's too drying... While its cleansing effectiveness is top-notch, so is its drying effect. If you're going to use it, it would be better to have a treatment or conditioner on hand. I don't use it often because I have blemishes from my neck down... Even without using it, my hair isn't as dry as expected when it dries, but you'll have to give up on smooth hair. Expect frizzy hair. If you have sensitive seborrheic scalp and hair loss like me, try using a small amount to wash your hair, then leave it on for 2-3 minutes while you brush your teeth or wash your face. This can more effectively remove excess oil. Using too much shampoo isn't good for your scalp, but using too little might not remove the oil properly, so I recommend this method! - hi*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinEnlarged PoresJan 31, 2021
Contains menthol - gives a refreshing sensation when washing hair No issues using it on scalp with dermatitis Loaded with sulfates and artificial colorants Unpleasant scent (fortunately disappears after drying hair) There are many great domestic products available - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedOct 9, 2020
I've had seborrheic dermatitis since high school, and it got worse after giving birth a year ago. My usual products weren't working, so I found this after some research. It's supposed to be good for the scalp, and with consistent use, I've noticed less itching and fewer dead skin cells. I also love how it lathers well. I've used shampoos that don't foam up before, and they never felt like they cleaned properly. I'm already on my second bottle! It doesn't have a fragrance. It's not unscented, but the smell wasn't particularly pleasant to me. As I kept using it, I got used to it, and since my scalp flaking reduced significantly, I'm continuing to use it with the mindset of 'who cares about the scent?' I think a pump dispenser would be more convenient. If you're not careful, too much product comes out. - ri*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 29, 2020
Love it! I bought this based on the Glowpick rating. At first, I wasn't sure if it was anything special, but with continued use, I'm really impressed! Firstly, it's helped eliminate scalp itchiness and those pesky little blemishes. It also seems to control oil better than other shampoos, though my super oily scalp might be too much for any shampoo to handle completely! What really amazed me was that even after not washing my hair for a few days (when my scalp usually turns into an oil slick), this shampoo lathered up immediately. Most shampoos struggle to foam up on my greasy hair, but this one creates rich, abundant lather right away. It's so nice not having to do a pre-wash! I'm definitely considering repurchasing. There's not much to dislike, but I'm not sure if it's actually making my hair strands thicker as claimed. Keep in mind that this shampoo might dry out your hair, so be sure to use a conditioner. If you have seborrheic dermatitis or extremely oily hair, I'd recommend doing a pre-wash. - ri***Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 24, 2020
Advantages: - Great shampoo for oily scalps with a cooling effect and effective oil removal - Kit designed with an excellent routine for strong hair and scalp care: scalp cleansing → hair hydration → scalp nourishment - Subtle mint/menthol scent suitable for both men and women - Shampoo provides a refreshing feeling during washing due to its cooling effect - Hair stays relatively fresh even into the afternoon Texture & Fragrance: - Shampoo: • Clear mint-colored formula with a balanced consistency - neither too thin nor too thick • Slightly sweet minty scent, similar to what you'd find in mouthwash Effectiveness & Finish: - Shampoo: • Excellent cleansing power with a subtle cooling effect, leaving the scalp feeling refreshed and clean • Keeps hair feeling fresh for a long time, even into the afternoon, as long as you avoid intense sweating. Even with perspiration, the scalp feels less stuffy compared to other shampoos Drawbacks: - Can be drying for those with dry scalps, and even for oily scalps, hair may feel stiff if used without conditioner - The shampoo's scent doesn't last very long, which is a bit disappointing - The price is quite high for the amount of product you get Although it's pricey, washing twice provides an amazing subtle cooling effect that's worth it. It's not a sudden, painful sensation, but more like a gradual cooling of the scalp. After about two weeks of use, I noticed less hair fall - od*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedSep 10, 2020
I've tried the shampoo, conditioner, and treatment from this line, and the shampoo was definitely my favorite. When I wash my hair with this shampoo, I can actually feel a cooling effect that seems to whisk away all the heat from my head. It definitely helped reduce the oiliness that usually sets in by evening. Even when I wash my hair at night, which in summer usually leads to my bangs getting greasy early the next evening, this shampoo kept things under control! If you're a fan of mint scents, you'll be satisfied. I much preferred this refreshing minty fragrance for summer over the artificial floral scents often used in shampoos. However, I'm not so sure about the treatment and conditioner. If I used them in the order Nioxin recommends, my hair became too stiff, feeling like I'd washed it with bar soap. The rough texture remained as well. Unless you have extremely oily hair, you might need to mix these with other conditioners and treatments. - yh*****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 4, 2020
This was my first time trying an imported shampoo, and I was impressed by the comprehensive set and its luxurious, hotel-quality feel! The set includes shampoo, conditioner, and a no-wash treatment. The shampoo has a slightly blue-tinted transparent formula, a bit thinner than regular shampoos, but it lathers well! The peppermint scent is refreshing, leaving the scalp feeling cool and clean. The conditioner provides just the right amount of hydration without being heavy, similar to an emulsion, and rinses off cleanly without leaving any residue. It's perfect for daily use! The treatment, despite being no-wash, comes out as a foam which was surprising at first. However, when applied to the scalp and hair as directed, it feels light and comfortable. I appreciated that it didn't leave a slippery feeling either. As someone with sensitive and oily scalp, I was pleased that these products didn't cause any blemishes. If you have an oily scalp without extreme sensitivity, this set would be great for summer use! It gives you that luxurious, hotel-care experience. The shampoo I was using before had excellent ingredients and suited my oily scalp well, so I didn't notice a significant difference with this product. It's a bit disappointing that the ingredients aren't particularly outstanding. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 10, 2020
I've noticed less hair falling out. While I'm not sure if it helps thicken thinning hair, it definitely reduces excessive shedding. There's no residue after use, and it lathers well, giving a refreshing feeling. I used it as part of a trial kit, so I can't say if it's solely the shampoo's effect, but my hair feels invigorated. It's quite confusing. While I appreciate the detailed categorization, I wish the explanations were easier to understand. Since I used the trial kit, I feel the amount was a bit small. Consistency in use seems to be key for best results. - te*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMar 30, 2020
Without a shred of exaggeration, I've found my holy grail shampoo. I've already repurchased the larger size! Nioxin offers product lines numbered 1 through 6, each tailored to different scalp and hair concerns. I used Line 2, which is designed for those already dealing with fine, thinning hair. Let me describe my scalp and hair condition: Up until my teens, I had a dry scalp with some dead skin cells, incredibly thick hair, and loads of volume. However, in my 20s, especially in recent years, my scalp gradually became oily, leading to hair loss, intense itching, and excessive sebum production. To be honest, I've spent most of my life struggling with having too much hair, so I never paid much attention to hair or scalp care. I focused on products for damaged hair ends rather than those beneficial for the scalp. Recently, I realized the importance of scalp care and, fortunately, had the opportunity to try Nioxin products. As a basic shampoo, it's clearly focused on scalp care with strong cleansing effectiveness. Previously, I'd start feeling itchy with blemishes appearing just half a day after washing my hair, which was really stressful. I didn't expect much, but the first day I used Nioxin, I didn't notice much while washing. However, as I was drying my hair, I felt this refreshing, comfortable sensation on my scalp. It really showed me why using a scalp care shampoo is so important. It's a bit pricey, so I recommend starting with just the shampoo. If it works well for you, then try their other products. There's nothing to complain about. It's been a long time since I've used a shampoo that left me without any regrets. I wouldn't recommend this to those with extremely dry scalps.
