★Written by someone with combination skin★ 1. Leaves a powdery finish This product has a nice, powdery finish that I really like. 2. Evens out skin tone well It's very effective at evening out the complexion, but it might make you look a bit too pale... 1. Can be too drying at times Since it's not particularly rich in oils, it can be very drying. 2. Leaves a white cast While it evens out the skin tone well, it makes you look too white. There's a noticeable difference between your face and neck... 3. Pilling when used with other makeup It occasionally pills when layered with other products. On very dry days, it helps to apply a small amount of Vaseline on top. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinNov 7, 2019
The scent is pleasant and it's quite usable. The price is affordable too. It claims to help with brightening and wrinkle improvement, but I haven't seen the effects yet. It's decent when I apply powder over it. The ingredients are a bit disappointing. They said it would control oily skin and pores, but I'm just using it because I don't want to waste money. There's some pilling, and the finish isn't as matte as I'd like, which is unfortunate. If you apply it generously and don't like stickiness, use powder! It's a fantastic tip! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 29, 2018
I love how it naturally brightens the skin and can be used like sunscreen. It's perfect for students attending schools where makeup isn't allowed. It looks so natural, like my own skin, that no one notices. That's why I've been using this product at school for two years now. However, I saw on Hwahae that it contains four potentially harmful ingredients. Also, for those with dry skin, if you apply this alone in the morning without any other skincare products, it doesn't absorb well and can make your skin feel tight and flaky. It might pill or not spread evenly. In short, I wouldn't recommend it for those with dry skin. If you have dry skin but still want to use this product, make sure to cleanse your face in the morning and apply a simple skincare routine first. Then, when you apply this product, your skin will feel more hydrated and comfortable. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 4, 2018
This has been my holy grail product! It's been with me from high school through early adulthood. I'm on my 4th bottle now, and I'll admit, I've been using about one bottle a year, ignoring the expiration date. Despite my sensitive, dry skin, it hasn't caused any blemishes except when my skin was super sensitive. It didn't dry me out, naturally brightened my complexion, and came at an incredibly affordable price. It was perfect! But I just checked the ingredients and was shocked. Guess it's time to find a replacement... There wasn't really anything to complain about! Though now I see the ingredients aren't great? Haha... If anyone finds their makeup pilling or sliding off after using this product, it's probably because you applied it right after your skincare. I noticed it tends to pill when applied to skin that's still damp from essences or moisturizers. It's better to apply this after your skincare has fully absorbed. It seems perfect for achieving a natural skin look. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinFeb 11, 2018
It's convenient and great how it naturally evens out my complexion. I can go out with just this on, skipping other base makeup besides sunscreen. It feels a bit thick when applying, and if you don't control the amount well, it can pill. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 8, 2018
I used this product well when I was 20 as it worked decently as a base product too This sunscreen seemed to have a dry absorbs and made makeup less adherent. Looking back, I just powered through with my resilient newbie skin despite these issues - Hwahae UserDry SkinOct 20, 2017
Why do they keep discontinuing the products I want to review? Anyway, this has been my go-to sunscreen since middle school. I used it more for its whitening effect than for sun protection, as I liked how it made my skin look brighter. I repurchased it countless times. It's not that the product was exceptionally good, but rather that it was a rare find - a sunscreen that also functioned as a makeup base. The main pros are that the color is pretty and it does make my skin look quite fair, without looking overly artificial. Oh, and it's convenient that it provides sun protection as well. It's so drying. Drying, drying, so drying. If I don't properly prep my skin and just apply it, it cakes up like flakes. If I apply it wrong, it even lifts around my nose in the summer. I wonder why I kept repurchasing it. I'm ashamed of my younger self. Make sure to properly prep your skin first. And never just rub it in with your hands - use a puff and gently pat it on. That helps prevent it from lifting. Ugh, what's the point of using this when it's going to be discontinued anyway? Farewell, my beloved middle school base... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJul 28, 2017
✔️This is the sunscreen I've repurchased the most (around 5 bottles?) and shared the most with others during my life. ✔️As a tone-up product, it provides a definite tone-up effect. ✔️The fluid texture means it doesn't feel drying. ✔️When used alone, it can feel heavy and slide off. ✔️When applied with the hands, it can feel slippery. ✔️Occasional breakouts may occur in some cases. ✔️Spraying a mist on a makeup sponge, then thoroughly applying the sunscreen to the face and patting it in can prevent it from feeling heavy or sliding off, while still providing a radiant tone-up effect! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2017
It's good for lightly evening out the skin tone without makeup. (No coverage, just tone correction + tone-up) It feels less heavy than other sunscreens and has a slightly semi-matte finish, so it's less sticky. If you apply it a little generously, it cakes up like a mask. If you apply it as a base under makeup, the base will slide off. I think this is the biggest downside. Sunscreen needs to be applied generously, but if you apply a lot, it cakes up... If you apply just a bean-sized amount, it's practically useless, isn't it? I don't know about the reformulated product, but this one cakes up a lot. And when you sweat, it clumps up and leaves a white cast ㅠㅠ For oily skin types like mine, it's hard to use from late spring to early fall. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinApr 29, 2017
This makeup base product also brightens the complexion with a pinkish glow. Back in high school, instead of wearing makeup, I used to use a whitening sunscreen a lot to look paler. I bought this product without knowing anything about it, and at first, I just thought it was great. But after that, no matter how well I prepared my skin or exfoliated, my makeup would still peel off and leave residue. I found it strange, but I never thought the product itself was the problem. It wasn't until I finished using this product and switched to a regular sunscreen that I saw my makeup applying smoothly and looking dewy. That's when I realized I had been using the wrong product all this time. I absolutely refuse to use this product again, even if someone paid me to. I can't help but wonder if my skin would have improved more if I hadn't used this product back then.
