I used this product for about 7 days. I applied it as a mask over my entire face twice during the week, and on other days, I used it as a regular cleansing foam. When looking at the texture of the cleansing foam, you can see rice granules. However, these weren't noticeable when applied to the skin. Advantages: 1. Blemishes gradually disappeared. 2. The skin-brightening effect is absolutely top-notch! 3. Leaves skin hydrated. 4. Skin becomes smoother. 5. Almost no scent. Overall impression: Recommended for those with dry or super sensitive skin looking for a hydrating cleansing foam that makes skin look clear and clean! The scent is barely noticeable - maybe a slight rice powder smell? With consistent use, I noticed that the multiple blemishes I had on my face at the start gradually subsided, resulting in smooth skin. It seems effective for blemishes. Those with sensitive skin should be able to use it with confidence. The most noticeable effect was the immediate brightening of the skin after use. Rice is said to have whitening effects, and it really seems to work. After cleansing, my skin felt nicely hydrated. This foam cleanser causes almost no tightness, so it's recommended for those with dry skin.
ConsDisadvantages: 1. For those with dry skin, it's recommended to use it as a cleansing foam rather than a mask. 2. The foam isn't as rich as expected. 3. The most disappointing aspect is that it has almost no effect on removing pore sebum. 4. Some people may feel a tingling sensation when first using it. (This occurred on areas where acne had previously healed. It didn't sting on other acne spots.) Overall impression: Doesn't manage pores well - you're better off using an oil cleanser. If you're looking for rich, creamy foam, look for a different product. The pore and sebum care mentioned in the product description isn't very effective. I usually double cleanse my nose area for blackheads, first with an oil cleanser and then with a foam cleanser. When I only used this rice foam pack, I didn't see any effect on removing blackheads from my pores. This aspect was quite disappointing. When used as a mask, it felt a bit tight on the skin. Also, the foam wasn't as creamy and dense as expected, but rather light and fluffy. On the first day, when I applied the rice foam pack all over my face, I felt a tingling sensation on my cheeks. However, I didn't experience any irritation after that.
TipIf you want to manage your pores as well, the only tip I can suggest is to use a pore brush while cleansing to help remove sebum.

It doesn't leave my skin feeling too squeaky clean, but rather with a slight hint of moisture, which I appreciate. It's gentle, so even those with super sensitive skin can use it with confidence. However, those with oily skin might need to be a bit careful as it contains some pore-clogging ingredients. It cleanses gently without irritation, and it lathers up really well when mixed with water. Plus, you get a generous amount of product for a reasonable price, so you can use it liberally.
ConsIt's really disappointing that it contains pore-clogging ingredients. I didn't really feel like it deeply cleansed my pores or effectively removed blackheads. As for the scent, I thought it was okay at first, but the more I smelled it, the less I liked it. If it accidentally gets in your mouth, it's really unpleasant! But I suppose having no fragrance is better than having an artificial one.
TipWhen using it as a clay mask, I found it's best to slightly dampen your hands with water for easier application. Otherwise, it can feel a bit thick and difficult to spread evenly. Also, as mentioned on the back of the product, leaving it on for about a minute seems to be just right.

Convenient to rinse off after 1-2 minutes of drying. - Reduces dryness in redness-prone areas after cleansing. Usually, I experienced redness and dryness in these areas after washing, but... Using it as a cleansing foam or mask has decreased both redness and dryness post-cleansing. - Less irritation compared to typical deep cleansing & clay mask products. - With continued use, dead skin cells have reduced and skin texture has become smoother. (3rd photo: After regular cleansing / 4th: Applied as a mask 5th: After cleansing with the product)
Cons- Can't notice changes in whiteheads & blackheads. I used my usual nose pack, but... I don't see significant changes compared to before using this product. - Can't notice changes in impurities and sebum control. I still get one or two blemishes, and my T-zone feels the same, so I can't tell the difference from before.
TipCan be used as a cleansing foam or mask. Using it as a mask feels better than as a cleansing foam, leaving skin feeling fresher after washing. When using as a mask, sticking to the recommended time (about 1-2 minutes) helps minimize irritation. Satisfied with how it smooths skin texture (exfoliation), but can't notice changes in whitehead, blackhead, or sebum control.

It's a gentle product. - Made with quality ingredients, there's no artificial scent or off-putting feeling! - The waterproof lid and user-friendly design make it convenient to use. - Despite containing rice, there were no grainy particles or irritation as I had expected. It wasn't harsh on the skin at all.
Cons- The price is a bit on the higher side. - The instructions say to apply the mask on dry skin, but for my oily skin, I found it more effective for sebum removal when I opened my pores with warm water first. - The effects on sebum removal and eliminating whiteheads and blackheads aren't dramatically noticeable. I've been using it consistently and have seen subtle improvements.
TipI found that using it after opening the pores with warm water really enhanced its sebum-removing effectiveness!

As cleansing and sun protection are the most crucial steps in skincare, I had high expectations for this basic product that I scrutinize the most. Especially as summer approaches, while my skin remains dry, I've been more concerned about oil control in the T-zone when it's hot, as well as issues like redness and enlarged pores. That's why I pay extra attention during this time of year. The Ganghwa Gyodong Rice Brightening Pack Foam Cleanser is unique as a 2-in-1 product that can be used as a clay mask or as a regular foam cleanser. I was particularly excited about the rice extract, which is known to brighten the complexion. The texture is quite thick, like a clay mask. I appreciated the minimal scent, with just a slight nutty aroma. When it comes in contact with water, it lathers up easily and has good cleansing power. It seems suitable for removing light makeup on its own, effectively removing non-long-lasting lip tints, though it struggles with eyeliner and mascara. For sunscreen or heavy makeup, it would work well as a second cleanser. It leaves the skin feeling very clean, so I'd recommend it to those with oily skin who enjoy that squeaky-clean feeling. It was a bit drying for me, though. Overall, it seems like a decent product, but I'll need to use it more to form a complete opinion.
ConsWhen used as a mask, I applied it for about a minute before rinsing, but it seemed to irritate my skin, leaving my face red. On the first day of use, I experienced what seemed like an allergic reaction the next day, making me consider discontinuing use. Thinking it might be an adjustment period, I continued using it but reduced the application time. The redness and slight tingling persisted, but no further allergic reactions occurred. I didn't feel it was particularly effective at removing deep-seated sebum from pores - it felt like it only partially cleared the oil. I couldn't increase the application time due to the irritation I experienced. Lastly, as someone with very dry skin who usually uses mild, low pH foams, the squeaky-clean finish left my skin feeling dry after cleansing.
TipFor those who experience irritation like me, it might be better to reduce the application time or use it as a cleanser rather than a mask.
