I didn't realize it was a mask and just used it like a regular cleanser! Even though I rinsed it off right away, it still seemed to work well. 1. It's almost fragrance-free. 2. It's gentle and produces a lot of foam. 3. The bottle is generously sized. 4. I can use it daily without getting any blemishes.
Cons1. It stings my eyes a bit, unfortunately. 2. The price is a bit steep, sadly. 3. The effect on removing excess oil is minimal.
TipFor pore care, you might want to use a different product.

The ingredients are gentle on the skin 2. It's a good, reliable option as a foam cleanser 3. The lightweight texture makes it easier to rinse off compared to other clay masks
Cons1. I didn't notice any skin-soothing effects (if anything, my skin felt a bit flushed when washing it off) 2. It did absolutely nothing for oil control....
TipCompared to other clay masks, this one feels lighter, probably because it's a cleansing foam. You can use it without worry, but in terms of effectiveness, it's a bit disappointing...? The ingredients are gentle, so it's best used as a simple, reliable foam cleanser!! It's a product whose charm lies in its lack of wow factor~!!!

I used this product for about 7 days. I applied it as a mask over my entire face twice during the week, and on other days, I used it as a regular cleansing foam. When looking at the texture of the cleansing foam, you can see rice granules. However, these weren't noticeable when applied to the skin. Advantages: 1. Blemishes gradually disappeared. 2. The skin-brightening effect is absolutely top-notch! 3. Leaves skin hydrated. 4. Skin becomes smoother. 5. Almost no scent. Overall impression: Recommended for those with dry or super sensitive skin looking for a hydrating cleansing foam that makes skin look clear and clean! The scent is barely noticeable - maybe a slight rice powder smell? With consistent use, I noticed that the multiple blemishes I had on my face at the start gradually subsided, resulting in smooth skin. It seems effective for blemishes. Those with sensitive skin should be able to use it with confidence. The most noticeable effect was the immediate brightening of the skin after use. Rice is said to have whitening effects, and it really seems to work. After cleansing, my skin felt nicely hydrated. This foam cleanser causes almost no tightness, so it's recommended for those with dry skin.
ConsDisadvantages: 1. For those with dry skin, it's recommended to use it as a cleansing foam rather than a mask. 2. The foam isn't as rich as expected. 3. The most disappointing aspect is that it has almost no effect on removing pore sebum. 4. Some people may feel a tingling sensation when first using it. (This occurred on areas where acne had previously healed. It didn't sting on other acne spots.) Overall impression: Doesn't manage pores well - you're better off using an oil cleanser. If you're looking for rich, creamy foam, look for a different product. The pore and sebum care mentioned in the product description isn't very effective. I usually double cleanse my nose area for blackheads, first with an oil cleanser and then with a foam cleanser. When I only used this rice foam pack, I didn't see any effect on removing blackheads from my pores. This aspect was quite disappointing. When used as a mask, it felt a bit tight on the skin. Also, the foam wasn't as creamy and dense as expected, but rather light and fluffy. On the first day, when I applied the rice foam pack all over my face, I felt a tingling sensation on my cheeks. However, I didn't experience any irritation after that.
TipIf you want to manage your pores as well, the only tip I can suggest is to use a pore brush while cleansing to help remove sebum.

Hello! It's Bubbly Kitty here. I know many students are in the midst of finals right now... and yes, I'm one of them. My exams are coming up, but the review deadline is Friday, and somehow I got selected during exam season. So this review might be a bit shorter and more to the point compared to my previous ones. I hope you understand! (I'll make sure to update it thoroughly after exams!) +It's been a while since exams ended, and I'm finally back! I've tried my best to leave a detailed review!! 1. Decent cleansing power I usually use the slightly acidic Dokdo Cleansing Foam. While low pH is less irritating to the skin, sometimes the cleansing power can be a bit lacking. That's when I use this cleansing foam. To be honest, I can't say the cleansing power is exceptional, but when used as a second step after cleansing tissues or water, it leaves a really refreshing feeling! When used after a full face of makeup, it leaves slight traces of eyeliner, mascara, and lip color. It's best to use a separate remover for these before using this product. For just sunscreen or brow makeup, this product alone seems sufficient for thorough cleansing. Still, I felt like there might be some residue left, so I wasn't comfortable using this alone. I followed up with an exfoliating toner after using this product. 2. Temporary brightening effect(?) It claims to have brightening properties, but I can't really comment on that yet since I haven't used it for a full week. I'll update the brightening section after using it more!! However, after use, my complexion feels not exactly white, but more transparent and radiant, which is quite refreshing. This effect is especially noticeable when used as a mask. +After using it for a week, I didn't see much effect for me. Just a slight improvement in overall complexion, if anything.. I wouldn't recommend this product if you're specifically looking for brightening effects. 3. Fragrance-free I generally prefer cosmetics with subtle scents or no fragrance at all! This product is completely fragrance-free. So it's suitable for those who prefer unscented products or are sensitive to fragrances (I'm not saying it's universally good, just that it's fine in terms of scent!) Overall, it's really just an average product. The skin-tightening effect after use is a bit disappointing.. Honestly, it might be better without the mask function! I wouldn't recommend buying it at full price, but it could be worth trying when it's on sale. Recommended for those looking for a product that removes makeup decently and is generally unremarkable! If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and I'll respond!
ConsIt really stings if it gets in your eyes! I recommend avoiding the eye area when cleansing! You can use it as a mask, but honestly, I couldn't really tell the effect. I didn't notice any improvement in dead skin cells, whiteheads, or blackheads, and my skin felt a bit tight while using it as a mask. The price is... well, not a quality I'd spend my own money on.
TipRecommended for those looking for a cleansing foam that can remove light makeup in one go, or just an average cleansing foam! And the mask function doesn't seem to have much effect.. Right after use, the skin looks brighter, but it feels too tight!

It's like killing two birds with one stone! As soon as I received it, I applied a thin layer to my face, waited about 2 minutes, then wet it and cleansed. I was surprised by how well it lathered up. I thought it wouldn't foam much because of the mask function, but it did! Because of face masks, I hardly wear any makeup these days, just sunscreen. This seems to be enough for cleansing without needing a separate double cleanse. Even when I wiped my face with a pad after washing, it was clean. I expected the texture to be quite thick, but it applies smoothly on the face and lathers well even with just a bit of water. My skin doesn't feel dry after cleansing either.
ConsWhile it has a mask function, it doesn't seem to be as effective as a dedicated mask. Still, I use it in the evening for both masking and cleansing since it can do both at once. It's not really suitable for mornings. My skin is in terrible condition right now due to various issues (stress-related) - closed comedones, suddenly increased sebum and dead skin cells... I didn't expect dramatic results after just a few days of use, but it doesn't seem to have much effect on removing excess oil or exfoliating. I'll keep using it consistently, hoping it's just because my skin is in such bad shape right now. But... I'm a bit concerned about the ingredients...
TipWhen using as a mask... It seems to be more effective if you apply it after using a steam towel. The instructions say to cleanse 1 minute after applying the mask, but I washed it off after about 2 minutes with some water. (It doesn't set quickly, so 1 minute seems too short for noticeable effects)

As cleansing and sun protection are the most crucial steps in skincare, I had high expectations for this basic product that I scrutinize the most. Especially as summer approaches, while my skin remains dry, I've been more concerned about oil control in the T-zone when it's hot, as well as issues like redness and enlarged pores. That's why I pay extra attention during this time of year. The Ganghwa Gyodong Rice Brightening Pack Foam Cleanser is unique as a 2-in-1 product that can be used as a clay mask or as a regular foam cleanser. I was particularly excited about the rice extract, which is known to brighten the complexion. The texture is quite thick, like a clay mask. I appreciated the minimal scent, with just a slight nutty aroma. When it comes in contact with water, it lathers up easily and has good cleansing power. It seems suitable for removing light makeup on its own, effectively removing non-long-lasting lip tints, though it struggles with eyeliner and mascara. For sunscreen or heavy makeup, it would work well as a second cleanser. It leaves the skin feeling very clean, so I'd recommend it to those with oily skin who enjoy that squeaky-clean feeling. It was a bit drying for me, though. Overall, it seems like a decent product, but I'll need to use it more to form a complete opinion.
ConsWhen used as a mask, I applied it for about a minute before rinsing, but it seemed to irritate my skin, leaving my face red. On the first day of use, I experienced what seemed like an allergic reaction the next day, making me consider discontinuing use. Thinking it might be an adjustment period, I continued using it but reduced the application time. The redness and slight tingling persisted, but no further allergic reactions occurred. I didn't feel it was particularly effective at removing deep-seated sebum from pores - it felt like it only partially cleared the oil. I couldn't increase the application time due to the irritation I experienced. Lastly, as someone with very dry skin who usually uses mild, low pH foams, the squeaky-clean finish left my skin feeling dry after cleansing.
TipFor those who experience irritation like me, it might be better to reduce the application time or use it as a cleanser rather than a mask.

However, dead skin cell removal was minimal. Felt a bit rough on day 3, so used an exfoliating cleanser in the morning. After 7 days of nightly use: Skin remained stable, but dead skin cell removal was minimal. No visible effect on blackheads when used alone. For better results, I tried double cleansing: first with cleansing oil to soften sebum, then with this product using a silicone brush. This method removed more blackheads, but it might work with other cleansers too.
ConsCons: - Skin felt tight within seconds after cleansing, likely due to the clay. Within a minute, it felt as dry as after a clay mask. Those with dry skin should take note. - Not very effective for sebum removal. (The white spots on the nose tip in the photo are dry, flaky skin, not extracted sebum.) Larger rice-like particles in the formula might have been more effective for sebum and dead skin cell removal.
