I initially bought it for my face and never experienced any blemishes! Now I only apply it to my neck and arms, excluding my face, and it works perfectly fine this way. It's incredibly hydrating!
ConsPerhaps because I have oily skin, it becomes increasingly greasy over time. It seems even worse than other sunscreens. Also, there's a scent similar to medicinal ointment.
TipMake sure to apply matte makeup after using this sunscreen.

The slight white cast actually gives a nice brightening effect, making it perfect for wearing alone on hot summer days.
ConsThe scent... I wish it were fragrance-free. There's a unique smell to it. Is this the typical sunscreen scent? It reminds me of a mild medicinal odor, which is a bit off-putting.
TipIt works great as a makeup base, giving my skin a brighter complexion. Even when I apply cushion foundation over it, it seems to prevent darkening. I really like that. At first, it might look a bit light, but as time passes, it blends with the oils from the cushion and melds beautifully with my natural skin tone.

I was worried it might be too runny and difficult to use, but it was surprisingly easy to apply, which I really liked.
ConsThe excess shine... it's such a letdown. If it controlled oil better, we could call it a glow, but for me, it just didn't work out. Also, the scent is a bit chemical-like? There are many products with good ingredients and pleasant fragrances out there, so this is a bit disappointing.

Its texture is somewhere between a typical cream and an emulsion, despite being a sunscreen. When I first used it, I squeezed the tube and was surprised by its thick, emulsion-like consistency. I even double-checked the name to make sure I hadn't mistakenly bought an emulsion instead of a cream. It spreads easily without any stiffness, so you only need to put in half the effort and time usually required for mineral sunscreens. It's a real time-saver on busy mornings.
ConsIt makes my face look quite shiny. There's so much glow that I was shocked after finishing my foundation and other makeup. I briefly wondered how to deal with this shininess, but ended up going to work as is - and surprisingly, it lasted quite a while. As for the scent... well, I suppose I should call it a fragrance since it's a cosmetic product, but to me it's a bit... While it's not overpowering, it reminds me of men's toner and comes across as somewhat strong. I'm not a fan of the scent. Given the good ingredients, I'll continue using it for now.

I'm currently dealing with adult acne on my cheeks and chin. - It has a moisturizing texture that spreads well despite being a mineral sunscreen. - It's not sticky at all. - When I applied makeup after using it, there was no pilling. - The ingredients are gentle, so it should work well for most skin types without irritation (though it seems that's not the case for me, unfortunately). - No eye stinging.
Cons- It leaves a bit of a white cast. - While the ingredients look good on paper, there must have been something that didn't agree with my skin. After a few days of use, my skin developed severe pustular acne, so I couldn't continue using it for the full two weeks. I guess I should blame my skin rather than the ingredients... - The scent is quite strong. It smells a bit like tiger balm (?), but it didn't bother me too much.
TipIf you have super sensitive skin like mine, I'd recommend trying a sample first before purchasing the full-size product if possible!

However, for a mineral sunscreen, this one absorbs as well as a moisturizer and has only a mild white cast, similar to a brightening moisturizer * Leaves skin feeling hydrated Often, the skin underneath can feel dry, but this keeps the skin moisturized all over
Cons* Somewhat strong scent Has a floral(?) fragrance. Smells a bit like eucalyptus and might be polarizing due to its intensity * Settles into pores. Emphasizes dead skin cells Not severe, but there's some settling around the nose area and it tends to highlight flaky skin
TipThe white cast and hydrating finish might be a matter of personal preference Despite mentioning drawbacks, I've gotten used to the scent, and while it does settle into pores and emphasize flaky skin, it's not extreme Overall, I'm satisfied with the good ingredients and the fact that it doesn't cause other blemishes! Would recommend for those who have dry skin or enjoy a moisturizing feel

Gentle ingredients With zero harmful ingredients, I really wanted to try this product! I used to use Innisfree sunscreen, but when I applied it to my face, it made my skin slightly itchy... But with this one, maybe because the ingredients are so gentle, I didn't experience any itchiness at all when applying it! 2. Thin emulsion-like texture This is my favorite type of texture! I don't really like heavy creams or oily emulsions, but this one has a fresh texture that applies moisturizing and light on the face. 3. White cast This could be an advantage for those who like a white cast! If you apply the right amount, it naturally whitens your skin, so I'd recommend it to those who enjoy that effect. 4. Cap The cap of the sunscreen is sturdy, so I'm certain the contents won't leak or spill out onto the surface.
Cons1. Slight eye irritation When I applied it near my eyes, it stung a bit like when eye makeup remover gets in your eyes, which surprised me a little. 2. Scent When I first applied it, it smelled a bit like a medicinal patch, which made me wonder. But as I continued to use it, I got used to it. It wasn't really bothersome overall.

I'm over the moon about winning The Hwahae Testers for the first time! I've written an honest review, so I hope you find it helpful. Packaging: First off, this brand seems to have such a beautiful heart. They created this line to commemorate Dokdo Day! Secondly, the Dokdo line's packaging is absolutely stunning. I don't usually mention design, but the Dokdo illustration is just gorgeous! It gives you a sense of patriotism, you know? Oh, and the case is so well-made too. It feels like it'll never leak! Perfect for carrying around. Product Effectiveness: Mineral sunscreens are known for being gentle on the skin, but they often have drawbacks like being difficult to spread, slow to absorb, and leaving a white cast. This product seems to have really improved on these issues. The application isn't stiff at all - it spreads beautifully. You only need a small amount to cover your whole face because it glides on so well! If you've avoided mineral sunscreens because they're too thick, you must try this one. It absorbs really quickly too! In the photo, you can see it leaves a slight glow but is well-absorbed. White Cast: Since many people mentioned it, I wanted to share my thoughts on the white cast. It's one of the main drawbacks of mineral sunscreens, but in my opinion, there's hardly any white cast with this one. You might notice it when you first apply, but after a few minutes, it settles in nicely. Let's compare it to the top 3 sunscreens in the Hwahae rankings! 1st Place: Dr. Alga Premium Sun Protection Cream 0 harmful ingredients, 60ml, 38,000 won SPF50+ PA+++ 2nd Place: Round Lab 365 Derma Relief Sun Cream (same brand!) 0 harmful ingredients, 50ml, 25,000 won SPF50+ PA++++ 3rd Place: Cell Fusion C Laser Sunscreen 100 4 harmful ingredients, 6 allergens, 50ml, 42,000 won SPF50+ PA+++ Dokdo Sunscreen: 0 harmful ingredients, 100ml, 28,000 won SPF50+ PA++++ Looking at this comparison, except for the 3rd place product, the ingredients are equally good. But when it comes to volume, price, and UV protection, the Dokdo sunscreen seems much more favorable!
ConsPolarizing Scent: It has a somewhat medicinal scent, which some people might really dislike. I'm not particularly sensitive to fragrances, so it didn't bother me. While I love moisturizing sunscreens and found this perfect, those who prefer a more matte finish might find it a bit heavy. Other than these points, I didn't find any drawbacks!
TipIf you apply it with a puff, the puff tends to absorb a lot of the product. Since it spreads so well, you can easily apply it by gently patting it on with your hands! Since there can be a slight white cast, don't apply too much. Use just the right amount!

I loved how lightweight it felt. - I have sensitive eyes, but this didn't cause any irritation. - It's moisturizing and gentle, so it didn't harm my skin at all! You can see how hydrating it is in the photos. - When applied to bare skin without makeup, the white cast looks natural and is quite useful. Despite being a mineral sunscreen, it doesn't leave a stark white appearance. Check out the photos! It brightens the complexion very naturally. - The small size might be a drawback for some, but I found it perfect for travel. My previous sunscreen was too large and inconvenient to take on trips. - I gave it four stars because, while good, it didn't have any standout features that made me feel I absolutely must repurchase it.
Cons- The scent isn't great (it has a slight medicinal smell, somewhat like a pain relief patch). - You can't check how much product is left in the container.
Tip- Patting the sunscreen on instead of rubbing helps prevent pilling and ensures better application.
