The ingredients are gentle! I love how it naturally brightens and evens skin tone without any noticeable color. Sometimes the product separates and runs, which can be a bit frustrating. - 7x********Dry SkinRecommendedOct 15, 2022
It gives a natural brightening effect and provides just the right amount of hydration. I really like it! This product won't cover blemishes or marks. It's suitable only for those looking to even out their skin tone. - mi*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedSep 21, 2022
It's non-irritating and brightens my complexion. When applied in the morning, it lasts well into the late evening. While it's not meant to provide coverage, it doesn't offer any at all. It can also pill slightly when my skin is dry. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedJun 1, 2022
It's great as a basic moisturizer that also brightens your complexion. Perfect for sleepovers with friends or visits home - just apply after washing up and you're good to go! Since it's primarily a moisturizer, the brightening effect doesn't seem to last very long. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 6, 2022
My complexion naturally brightened, and I had absolutely no blemish reactions! I really dislike foundation rubbing off, so when I go out, I apply sunscreen and this brightening moisturizer. It's quite drying, so unless it's summer, you need to apply a solid base skincare routine to prevent it from cracking. To be honest, even in winter, despite applying plenty of cream or essence, it still feels a bit dry after a while. You can wipe your face with a toner pad midday, rehydrate, and then reapply. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 8, 2021
It naturally brightens and enhances your complexion beautifully. The moisturizer absorbs smoothly, leaving your face feeling hydrated after application. The downside is that it doesn't provide much coverage, and it can sometimes pill when your skin becomes dry. - bo*******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessRecommendedOct 13, 2021
I love this so much! I was worried it might pill like other rice bran creams, but it actually brightens without any pilling. You can even apply foundation over it! While it's less moisturizing than typical rice bran creams, it doesn't ball up and allows for layering with other products. Highly recommended! Downsides? There aren't any. Among brightening moisturizers, this is the only one that instantly brightens, doesn't pill, and looks natural. It's great for hydration too. Using this as a makeup base before foundation is absolutely amazing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 17, 2021
The ingredients are great, as expected from Sidmool. It's moisturizing and absorbs well, without leaving an overly white cast. Instead, it gives your skin a subtle, natural brightness as if it's your own complexion. I loved how it adheres to the skin naturally, like you're not wearing anything. Surprisingly, it also has good staying power. With added sun protection, this product is truly flawless. If you apply too much, it can pill slightly. I'd recommend using just a small amount. - wl**********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 13, 2021
When used alone, the brightening effect lasts quite long. It feels comfortable on the skin. In these times when you don't want to wear makeup under a mask but still look dull, this is an absolute must-have (I've emptied 2 bottles). Occasionally clogs pores. It can pill in areas where the mask touches the skin (but this happens with foundation too, so it's unreasonable to expect a brightening moisturizer not to). It tends to be a bit rich in summer. Don't apply it before sleeping. Although customer service says it's okay to apply before bed, it definitely causes small bumps. As long as you don't sleep with it on, I didn't experience any blemishes. - 12*******Combination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedMay 7, 2021
Here's my review after 6 months of use. First off, I've stopped wearing makeup lately, and foundation gives me small blemishes, which stresses me out. That's why I turned to this brightening moisturizer. I bought it because using just sunscreen made my face look too yellow. Since it doesn't have separate UV protection, I mix it with sunscreen in a 5:5 or 6:4 (Beautytheory:sunscreen) ratio. Depending on the ratio, sometimes it evens my skin tone beautifully, and other times it looks patchy or leaves a white cast like flour. I'm still trying to find the perfect combination. When I use mineral sunscreen alone, my cheeks feel tight, but mixing it with Beautytheory keeps my skin hydrated without the tightness. Using Beautytheory alone feels moisturizing! The texture is also quite light. When used alone or in the wrong combination with sunscreen, the brightening effect is hit or miss. Still, it's better than not using anything, so I keep applying it. It's really disappointing when it turns out patchy. I've tried various application methods - puff, hands, you name it - but it's always a gamble between patchiness, barely noticeable effects, or that coveted porcelain skin look. In conclusion, you can consider its skin-perfecting effects to be minimal at best. Sometimes when I'm too lazy to apply sunscreen, I just use this product alone. I contacted Sidmool, and they said that while it's not certified as a functional cosmetic, it does contain UV-blocking ingredients, so it should provide some protection. I use it alone for quick outings. It's gentle enough to wear to bed, and they say it has whitening effects if you apply it at night, so I'm using it consistently every day!
