No matter how many drugstore products I try, it seems like MAC is still unbeatable when it comes to matte lips. I needed a warm chili lip color for fall and winter, and was looking for something artistic and mood-setting like BBIA's lipsticks. This MAC lipstick goes on lighter and more moisturizing than BBIA, has great staying power, and the color isn't too heavy - it's the perfect chili lip. Applied thinly, it's a chili shade that complements beige or ivory tones. You can build it up for a deeper chili lip look. There's a bit of transfer, but it stains nicely. The scent is a subtle chocolate aroma. However, I'd recommend cool-toned folks to choose a different shade as this is truly a warm-toned item. It adheres moistly without going on thick and doesn't emphasize lip lines. Of course, being a matte lip, it does dry out over time, but if you apply lip balm and wait a bit before reapplying, it goes on beautifully. What I love most is that even after wearing this matte lip for a long time, when lips usually get flaky and dry, making reapplication patchy, with MAC, you can wipe it off with a wet wipe and reapply for a fresh, pretty look. I question if the applicator tip really needed to be designed this way. It's inconvenient to apply, and the product comes out in large amounts all at once, making it difficult to create a gradient effect using just the applicator. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 6, 2022
The way it glides on so smoothly is amazing. This product made me realize why high-end products are worth their price... My skin tends to show a lot of dead skin cells, but when I apply this, that issue just disappears. It's fantastic! The price is wickedly high... Personally, I felt it transferred quite a bit when first applied. - is****Oily SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 7, 2022
I loved the chocolate scent. Despite having a deep undertone, it surprisingly suited me well. There wasn't anything particularly bad, but I felt the staying power could have been a bit better. - go********Dry SkinRecommendedJan 12, 2022
Color: The shade is very autumnal and warm. When blurred, it emphasizes a red-brown hue. Surprisingly, it's not as orange as you might expect! While photos don't do it justice, once applied to the lips, it doesn't look too dark or intense. It's beautifully expressive with a slight MLB vibe... Perfect for daily wear, it's not overly flashy but naturally harmonious. Though it may seem ordinary, achieving this balance is quite challenging. To be honest, I feel like the color alone makes it worth it, so I'm definitely keeping it. Pigmentation and Staining: Good. It tends to apply a bit thickly, with almost no staining. Texture, Feel, and Application: It has a velvet blur texture that somewhat fills in lip lines. It feels a bit heavy on the lips, especially compared to other lightweight products these days... There's also more transfer than expected! However, it's not drying. But... given how humid it already is under our masks, it's not ideal for the pandemic era. Still, you get what you pay for... The application is incredibly smooth, and it feels great to use. Emphasis on Dead Skin Cells and Fine Lines: Due to its texture, it doesn't really emphasize fine lines or dead skin cells. Scent: It has a chocolate scent, but it's not overwhelming when applied. Packaging and Applicator Shape: It looks luxurious. Honestly, without the MAC logo, it might look ordinary, but what can you do? The applicator shape is quite unique, though I'm not particularly fussy about these things. I wondered if it really needed to be different, as it didn't feel much different from straight or angled tips when using it. The rounded part even moves a bit, which can be slightly inconvenient. But I'm not one to fuss over such details. Longevity: Since it barely stains at all, it doesn't last long. You'll need to reapply after eating, and it seems to fade even with normal daily activities. It didn't meet my expectations in this regard. Value for Money: Value for money? Overall, the color is pretty and generally versatile. However, I'm not thrilled with the longevity and texture. I'll probably carry it around because of the brand and color, but isn't life about living your best life? There's nothing wrong with a bit of luxury, right? It's fine, it's fine. To reduce transfer, blot with a tissue after application. This will significantly decrease transfer, though it will also reduce the color intensity slightly. It's not too drastic... Just reapply a bit more by tapping it on for a beautiful finish. Color comparison in the last photo: If Red Pepper were less orange and slightly deeper in tone, it might be similar to Devoted to Chili. I included Mongsangjuk in the last photo because some say it's a dupe for Devoted to Chili, but the pigmentation isn't similar at all. It's slightly more comparable when blurred. Of course, this comparison is based solely on my eye, so the reliability is 0%. Just take it as a bit of fun information. - js*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRednessRecommendedJan 2, 2022
I absolutely adored the color! It's exactly the chili shade I had in mind. The texture when first applied was delightfully powdery and pleasant. While I initially loved the powdery texture I mentioned, it's a bit disappointing that as time passes, dead skin cells start to appear and there's hardly any staining. That aspect leaves something to be desired. - sm******Normal SkinRecommendedDec 9, 2021
It's so pretty! The color is absolutely gorgeous! Lost it just a week after buying... No regrets though, I'll definitely get another one! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 18, 2021
As a warm autumn complexion type, I'm a big fan of bold lip colors and frequently use MAC products. I decided to try this one based on a recommendation, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it! While it's a bit brighter than my usual shades, it's still a gorgeous red that doesn't look out of place. When I wear it, it gives me a vibe reminiscent of Lee Jung-eun. If you find it too intense, you can apply a thin layer for a different effect. The packaging is also totally my style! The only downside with MAC is always the price... haha. But the color payoff makes up for it all! One thing to note is that the staying power isn't particularly impressive. After being out for a while, I notice it's only left on the edges of my lips... It could be due to my habits, but it can be a bit embarrassing at times. 1. For a more intense color, apply multiple layers! 2. For a softer look, lightly dab and blend with your finger (personally, I think this looks beautiful!) 3. Don't forget to exfoliate your lips before application! - ky*****Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 15, 2021
The color is absolutely gorgeous and applies so naturally. What I love most is the powdery finish - it's really fantastic. I used the 'Devoted to Chili' shade, which is perfect for those with warm undertones. You need to be careful with the amount you apply. If you don't control it well, it can go on patchy or look too intense, so pay attention to how much you're using. I think it would look great if you start with a nude color as a base and then gradient it with the 'Devoted to Chili' shade on top. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedJul 22, 2021
The color is absolutely gorgeous and it applies beautifully. The design is also lovely. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with this product. I accidentally dropped it once and it shattered completely... You really need to be careful with this one. - ts********Combination SkinRecommendedJul 12, 2021
The color is so pretty! It's not too intense, but it's really beautiful. There's nothing particularly bad about it. The staying power is decent, though the case feels a bit flimsy.
