Combination (dry cheeks, oily T-zone), sensitive, acne-prone skin I've never seen such a powdery serum before... True to its name as a sebum serum, it definitely controls oil while leaving a matte finish! As this serum is designed to manage excess oil, when applied to combination skin that leans more dry, it seemed to strip away even the necessary oils. Immediately after application, it stung and caused dryness in delicate areas (around the mouth and eyes). This led to a compromised skin barrier, resulting in flaking and irritation. Use it with a moisturizing cream or a hydration-rich ampoule to compensate for the lack of moisture! Highly recommended for those with extremely oily or oily skin types who struggle to control excess sebum! - Hwahae UserOily SkinNov 5, 2023
Well, it definitely seems to control oil. That's about all I can say for sure. First off, the scent was odd. After applying, my skin felt irritated and seemed to develop a redness. I immediately stopped using it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 19, 2022
While it looks quite viscous to the eye, surprisingly it absorbs quickly when applied It might vary from person to person, but I experienced a tingling sensation after application - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 8, 2022
I can't say there's anything particularly good about it, as it doesn't seem to suit my skin. However, perhaps due to its acidic ingredients, it does help control sebum. I use it occasionally during summer. I think the orange extract might be irritating my skin. It seems acidic ingredients don't agree with me. Like the toner from the same line that caused blemishes, this serum also leads to breakouts. Still, I used a small amount occasionally in summer when my nose gets oily. Now that it's winter, I've stopped using it as my skin has become dry. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 8, 2020
The Hwahae Testers review here! My skin type is super oily, sensitive boss, and acne-prone (though I rarely get breakouts now, they do pop up occasionally). Texture: → The light, watery consistency allows it to quickly penetrate and absorb into the skin when applied. True to its 'sebum serum' name, it feels like it's balancing the oil and moisture levels. I used to wake up with an oil slick, but after applying this at night, my oiliness has decreased! Summer... it's the worst for oily skin, right? Excess oil, sweat, everything just melts off... But when I apply this before makeup, it improves longevity↑ + freshness↑ = win! Volume & Value: The size is just right - not too small, not too big. While using it, I thought 'This will last me a while!' It's generous and offers great value for money! Blemishes: When I used this, my skin was in a sensitive, irritated state. After use, it felt a bit calmer and soothed. However, it didn't reduce sebum or blemishes. I used this when my skin was irritated, and it seemed to calm down a bit, so I continued using it. But then my forehead got even more irritated! I'm not sure if it's due to masks + fine dust or this serum, but I stopped using it after that. My skin has improved a lot now, so I'll try it again and update my review. Oily-skinned folks can use this before makeup to control oil and shine while keeping the skin fresh for a flawless makeup application! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 8, 2020
Hello! I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of The Hwahae Testers, so I'm leaving a review a bit late. First off, I absolutely love the texture! It has a wonderfully moisturizing yet fresh feel, and it absorbs incredibly well. And oh, the scent! It has this slightly herbal aroma that I'm particularly fond of, which made me want to keep smelling it. The downside was that on the third day of use, I noticed some blemishes appearing. Unfortunately, I had to stop using it. Also, as someone with dry skin, I found that using the serum alone left my skin feeling quite parched. I had to apply a generous amount of cream afterwards. Personally, for my dry skin, I found that pairing this product with Clinique's 72-hour moisture cream worked best. Applying the moisture cream after the serum really helped combat the deep dryness. In my opinion, this serum might be most suitable for those with oily skin or people with clear skin who feel they need a serum. It could also work well for combination dehydrated skin types. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 7, 2020
The best thing about this product is that it's hydrating without any stickiness! As someone with oily skin, I usually had to apply powder after my skincare routine because my face would get too greasy. But with this, I could just go out without any extra steps. The texture is perfect for summer, it absorbs well, and it's just amazing. It's lightweight yet not drying, which I absolutely love! There was only one downside for me. I have super sensitive skin, and while it was fine at first, I started to develop some blemishes after a while. Unfortunately, I had to go back to my original product because of this. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 6, 2020
As someone with combination dehydrated skin and super sensitive skin, I found the lightweight texture and easy application to be great positives. On the downside, and this is just my personal opinion, I didn't like the scent. After using it for 2-3 days, I started developing blemishes. I wanted to use it longer before reviewing, but the blemishes kept getting worse, so I had to stop using it. I hope you understand. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinJul 4, 2020
Here's my review as one of The Hwahae Testers! I've been using this for about a week. First off, I have very oily skin, and with truly oily-skin products, the surface moisture evaporates quickly. So for those with dry skin, I recommend applying a bit more. It's fantastic to use before makeup rather than just before bed. However, I have acne-prone skin! Unfortunately, it seems my skin reacted a bit after applying this. I think my skin might be super sensitive. When my sister used it, she was fine. So while I probably won't continue using it, my sister is enjoying it. I highly recommend this for those with oily skin without acne, rather than for acne-prone or dry skin types. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 3, 2020
The Hwahae Testers review: This is definitely a serum for oily skin types. It controls sebum well, and usually after applying makeup, my skin gets shiny quickly as time passes, but with this, it controls oil production effectively, making my skin less shiny than before. My mother, who has oily skin, really likes it and says it suits her well. For someone with sensitive and oily skin like me, it stung quite a bit. I tried to push through and apply it, but my skin couldn't handle it, so I ended up giving it to my mother. It's best to use this after patting on toner and applying two layers of serum. Apply it at 10-minute intervals, and finish with a hydrating cream for the best results.
