Skin type: Dry The formula is extremely lightweight and liquid, making it easy to apply It absorbs well into the skin with no white cast, making it an excellent base before makeup The formula separates like oil if not shaken It's a mixed organic product, but the ingredients could be improved - op******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 27, 2025
As expected, this sunscreen, along with Anessa from the same brand, truly deserves its title as the world's #1 Japanese sunscreen. Don't be fooled by other viral products - this is the one you should go for when it comes to sun protection. Its absorption and sun-blocking power are legendary. (In external tests, while Korean cosmetics scored 92% in sun protection, this one hit 99%!) What's even more impressive is that it leaves no white cast and doesn't feel greasy at all. It's almost too good to be true. The only downside is that you'll have to be prepared for the hefty price tag. But considering its performance, it's worth every penny. It's crucial to shake the bottle thoroughly before use. (There's a significant difference between shaken and unshaken product. This is an official recommendation from the brand.) - an*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 10, 2025
It feels incredibly lightweight, leaving the skin feeling soft and refreshed. I think it might be a bit drying during the winter months. - cu*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMay 10, 2025
As someone with oily skin, I've tried various products, but this one stands out for me. It's the best at controlling excess oil! While I don't have any major complaints, I wouldn't recommend this for those with dry skin. However, it's perfect for super oily skin types like mine. Although it's not marketed as a brightening sunscreen, it seems to slightly even out the complexion. - an*******Dehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 8, 2025
As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I've struggled with extreme dryness around my mouth and nose area since my early 30s. I need to constantly apply lip balm to combat the dryness. I didn't wear makeup daily in my youth and started using sunscreen late, in my mid-20s. I prefer all-in-one skincare products. In my younger years, I only used Johnson's Baby Lotion. In my 30s, I tried using separate products, then switched back to just Madecassoside cream. When the deep dryness became severe, a friend suggested using toner, ampoule, essence, and cream. I've tried various products and settled on a few, while deciding against others. I avoid AHC due to eye irritation. I've tried and currently use sunscreens from Dalba, Mediheal, LLO L, Hera, Innisfree, The SAEM, Dr.G, Joseon Beauty, Dongkook Madecassoside, Nivea, and others I can't recall. This is my first time using Shiseido sunscreen. I'll skip the detailed explanation of its features like water, sweat, and heat resistance - that's all in the product description. Honestly, once I find a sunscreen that works for me, I don't delve too deeply into the technical aspects since most are quite similar and good. Remember to shake before use! It reminds me of Hera sunscreen with its rattling beads inside. The color is a light apricot, almost white. The scent is fresh and floral - typical of women's cosmetics. The texture is thin but slightly viscous, like an emulsion. It applies smoothly and spreads easily, covering a large area with a small amount. I applied it three times in similar amounts all over my face. It absorbs quickly without looking cakey or greasy. Instead, it leaves a dry, powdery finish. There's a slight brightening effect, but not an overwhelming white cast. I like it - I could go out with just this and lip color! This product might not be suitable for those with dry skin. It seems better suited for oily or combination dehydrated skin types, and probably better for summer than winter use. There's no eye irritation, skin tingling, or irritation. After some time, the initial powdery finish gives way to a subtle glow as oils come through. There's some white residue in the double eyelid crease and around the nose, but no pilling or emphasis on dead skin cells. There's some clumping on the eyebrows, like a paste, which I wiped off. It has a powdery finish, which explains why it needs shaking. It's not a glowy product - more like you've applied powder. Three hours after application, there's some oil breakthrough and glow, but also a feeling of deep dryness. I immediately want to spray on some mist and wash my face. It might be better to wash and reapply. While I don't expect hydration or color correction from a sunscreen, it feels different from when I first applied it. Consider reapplying every two hours, or cleansing and reapplying. - ta*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 3, 2025
My holy grail sunscreen feels like I'm not wearing anything, and it brightens my complexion by half a shade No complaints. The reformulated product is even better, leaving my skin feeling comfortable - es****Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityApr 20, 2025
This review is based on using a sample of the product. Sun Protection: The sun protection ability seems to be verified and excellent. After using it and engaging in outdoor activities, my skin didn't significantly redden or burn. Application: Rather than being a thick cream, it has a soft emulsion texture that applies smoothly. Although it's white, it doesn't provide a tone-up effect, and there was hardly any white cast. Texture: It doesn't absorb as quickly or feel as light on the skin as other sun serums or lightweight sunscreens, but it absorbs adequately. The scent is close to unscented with a subtle fragrance. Ingredients: I didn't find the ingredients particularly impressive. While using it, I didn't experience any blemishes or feel any irritation, but for those with super sensitive skin, I recommend checking the full ingredient list and definitely doing a patch test before purchasing. - When applied, it leaves a feeling of excess oil on the skin. It doesn't finish with a light or smooth feel, but rather feels a bit heavy and sticky, requiring powder or cushion foundation to set it. - It's on the expensive side. - Being a Japanese cosmetic product, I wouldn't go out of my way to use it. - t6********Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedApr 2, 2025
Among the popular sunscreens at department stores, this Shiseido product definitely seems waterproof and absorbs well. It feels moisturizing when applied, but then sets to a matte finish, which is great. There's nothing particularly bad about it! Well, maybe the price is a bit on the higher side? - gu*********Oily SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedApr 1, 2025
Feels incredibly lightweight, like water on your skin. Highly recommended for those with oily complexions. Not sure if it's just the sample container, but despite its fluid consistency, it lacks a separate cap, making it tricky to control the amount dispensed. The product would be even better if the packaging were improved. - a0***********Normal SkinRecommendedDec 30, 2024
I tried this sunscreen for the first time and it exceeded my expectations There's nothing to complain about. It seems to provide even better UV protection
