It doesn't particularly effectively remove oil or odor from my boyfriend's oily scalp. It's also a bit too soft, so it doesn't last very long.

The fragrance is lovely and the lather is really nice. I've used my boyfriend's a few times, and like most shampoo bars, after washing, my hair feels a bit stiff, so conditioner is a must.

I was suffering greatly from scalp heat due to recent lack of sleep and severe stress. The roots at the crown were easily losing volume and sticking tightly to the scalp, causing itchiness as well..
I tried switching to an oil-control shampoo, but it didn't work and my hair started falling out a lot. That's when I remembered LUSH and immediately bought it. I'm completely satisfied. I've only used it 3 times so far, but it's already improved tremendously. My scalp doesn't hurt or itch anymore. The volume is also coming back. I'll have to keep an eye on the hair loss though.

The best part was the fragrance.
The refreshing lemon scent was great to use - not too overpowering, just the right level of fragrance.
Although there wasn't any lingering scent after washing, I actually liked that it wasn't too strong.

- The foam really builds up a lot. For short hair, just rubbing it back and forth twice is enough.

- It's soft after use. Right after washing, it feels very stiff. But after drying, it was unusually soft compared to other shampoos.

- There's no waste. This is a benefit of all shampoo bars, but besides the paper envelope, there's no other waste, so it's convenient. No need to recycle.

- Good fragrance. If you stick your nose in it, the scent can make you cough, but when washing, it's fragrant. However, the fragrance barely lasts, so if fragrance is important to you, keep that in mind.

Towards the end of use, the lemon? pieces attached to it fall off messily.
In bar form, it becomes difficult to use it cleanly as it starts to break into pieces when it's almost used up.
The worst downside is that it's made in Japan... Ugh...

This product has completely shattered my prejudice against shampoo bars.
The lather is excellent, and it has improved the scalp issues that have been bothering me for years. It's a wonderful product.
It's solid and small, so I always make sure to pack it when I travel.
Since it doesn't use a plastic container, I feel less guilty about the environmental impact.

As expected, my scalp is itchy. I scratched it so much while sleeping. 
I don't recommend this for sensitive scalps.

I mainly used the dedicated tin case for my solid shampoo, but towards the end, it would always get stuck to the case, making it difficult to use. Like others, I had to put it in a mesh bag and dry it separately. Since I mostly used it in the wet bathroom, it was a hassle to manage. I usually bought it when traveling to Europe or Japan, as the price is too high in Korea.

I used to be a big fan of Lush solid shampoos, and I think Montalbano is the best one in terms of fragrance and versatility. It has great cleansing power and lathers up nicely. As long as you store it properly, it can last a long time. Not having to use a plastic case is a big plus in my opinion. It's also great for travel since it's lightweight to carry around. The lather dissipates quickly, which I like. Since Lush is an environmentally-conscious brand, I feel confident using their products.

Using it in a soap net makes it easy to store and helps create even more lather!

Over time, the lemon can separate from the shampoo bar, and you need to remove it carefully (if you miss the timing, the lemon will become sticky...).

I'm on my second one and it lathers up nicely and effectively removes oil, so I'm very satisfied with how well it works.
