The scent is lovely and it lathers up wonderfully. I've used my boyfriend's a few times, and like most shampoo bars, it leaves your hair feeling a bit stiff, so conditioner is a must afterwards. It doesn't seem particularly effective at removing excess oil or scalp odor for my boyfriend's oily scalp. Also, it's too soft, so it doesn't last very long. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresOct 10, 2023
The scent is absolutely delightful! It has a tangy-sweet lemon fragrance. I managed to snag it at a slightly discounted price during a Chuseok sale on another platform. The size was actually larger than I had anticipated. If you have dry hair or are concerned about hair loss, steer clear of this product. I've tried various shampoo bars, but this one leaves my hair extremely stiff and causes significant shedding. - na******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedFeb 23, 2023
Excellent for scalp heat and itching. Recently, due to lack of sleep and extreme stress, my scalp was burning up and it was unbearable. The hair roots on my crown easily lost volume and lay flat against the scalp, causing itching too. Switching to an oily scalp shampoo didn't help, and I lost a ton of hair. Then I remembered Lush and immediately bought this. I'm extremely satisfied. After just 3 uses, I've seen significant improvement. My scalp doesn't hurt or itch anymore. The volume is coming back too. I'll need to keep an eye on the hair loss a bit longer. While the nature of a shampoo bar means maintenance can be a bit of a hassle and requires some attention, it's not a major inconvenience. I recommend giving it a try. When shampooing, make sure to thoroughly wet your scalp before using the shampoo bar. - nf********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 8, 2022
The cleansing effectiveness is great. If you dry it well, it lasts longer than expected. When I've been using other shampoos and my scalp gets oily, I use this about once a week. I heard the fragrance might not be good for health... I'm curious how harmful it is. Would rinsing quickly be okay? - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinNov 24, 2021
I love the citrus scent! It keeps my hair from getting greasy quickly after washing. Seems perfect for oily scalps. It's quite pricey - small size but a wicked price tag. Be careful when washing, as the lemon chip pieces might get stuck in your hair. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedOct 31, 2021
The best thing was the scent. The fresh lemon fragrance made it incredibly pleasant to use. It wasn't too strong, just the perfect level of aroma. While there wasn't a lingering scent after washing, I actually preferred that as it felt less intense and more natural. The price is a bit of a concern, and it tends to soften easily. While it's really nice, it's on the pricier side, and it's a shame that it softens quickly. After using it, I realized it needs to be stored in a dry place for proper maintenance. It's very vulnerable to moisture. Make sure to dry it in a moisture-free area after use. - ko*****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 1, 2021
- It lathers up incredibly well. For short hair, just a couple of quick rubs are more than enough. - Leaves hair feeling soft. Right after washing, hair feels very stiff, but once dry, it's noticeably softer than with other shampoos. - Zero waste. Like all shampoo bars, it's convenient as there's no trash except for the paper bag. No need for recycling. - Pleasant fragrance. While the scent might be a bit strong if you sniff it directly, it's delightfully fragrant when washing. However, the scent doesn't linger long, so keep that in mind if fragrance is important to you. - Needs drying after each use. I didn't buy the tin case and just hang it on a soap saver, but if I forget and leave it in a damp spot, it melts. Best to keep it away from excessive moisture. - Can be a bit of a hassle. With regular shampoo, you just squeeze and lather, but with a shampoo bar, you need to take it out, rub it on your head, rinse off the lather from the bar, and hang it up to dry. It might just be because I use a soap saver, but it does feel a bit more time-consuming. It's better not to remove the sticker that comes attached to the bar. It definitely helps the bar last longer and can be useful when the bar gets smaller. - ys****Oily SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMay 15, 2021
I'm on my third bar and have two more stashed away. This product completely shattered my preconceptions about shampoo bars. It lathers incredibly well and has been a godsend for improving the blemishes on my scalp that have been bothering me for years. Being solid and compact, it's a must-pack for travel. Using it also eases my conscience about the environment since it doesn't come in plastic packaging. Towards the end of use, the lemon bits stuck to it fall off messily. As it's in bar form, it tends to break into pieces when you're almost done, making it difficult to use neatly. The worst drawback is that it's made in Japan... sigh... - yh***Dry SkinSensitive SkinApr 29, 2021
The cleansing effectiveness, ability to combat scalp odor, and lather are all decent... As expected, my scalp is itchy. I must have scratched it so much while sleeping. Not recommended for those with sensitive scalps. - ho****Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 6, 2020
I used to be a big fan of Lush solid shampoos, and Montalbano was my favorite for its pleasant scent. It's a reliable product that's easy to use. The cleansing effectiveness is particularly good, and it lathers well. If stored properly, it lasts a long time. A major benefit is not having to use plastic packaging. It's also great for travel as it's lightweight and portable. The lather dissipates quickly, which is a plus. Since Lush is an environmentally conscious brand, I feel confident using their products. I mainly used the Godiva shampoo tin case, but towards the end, the shampoo always sticks to the case, making it difficult to use. Like others have mentioned, you need to put it in a foam net and dry it separately. This was problematic for me as I mainly used it in a humid bathroom. I usually bought it when traveling to Europe or Japan because it's too expensive in Korea. Above all, proper care is crucial. Store it in a well-ventilated, dry place. I recommend buying a separate large, shallow tin case or plate for storage.
