Despite the high price, I'm not sure what's so great about it. The fragrance is definitely mild though. The value for money is absolutely terrible. Many people think it doesn't contain surfactants, but if you check the ingredient list again, you'll see they're there. Also, after using this, I kept getting acne-like blemishes on the back of my neck, which was really troublesome. Everyone, please research thoroughly before purchasing. - mu****Oily SkinAcne SkinMay 5, 2022
I'm not sure if this product is worth the price. They market it as a shampoo without surfactants, but it actually does contain them. It just doesn't include certain types of surfactants, which I don't think is such a big selling point to boast about. It's just a decent, run-of-the-mill shampoo. It doesn't dry out your hair, has good cleansing effectiveness, a neutral scent, doesn't cause irritation or blemishes. But I'm not sure if it's worth paying this much for these basic features. If you have some extra cash, it might be worth trying, but I probably won't repurchase it. However, after using this product, my scalp blemishes and itching have significantly reduced. So if you're dealing with urgent scalp issues, it might be worth giving it a shot. The price... While I think it's a decent shampoo, I'm not sure if it's worth the cost. - km***Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 7, 2022
The fragrance is lovely, and after switching from another shampoo, my scalp feels refreshingly clean. The price is quite steep. It's disappointing that the smaller size doesn't come with a pump. - mo********Dry SkinSensitive SkinJan 1, 2022
The cleansing effectiveness for the scalp is excellent, resulting in less oiliness the next day compared to other shampoos. While it's fine for the scalp, I'm getting blemishes along the hairline. The formula is quite thin, so it comes out more quickly than expected, which is surprising. I wish it had a pump dispenser. It would also be nice if the price were more affordable. - ms*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 28, 2021
My scalp itching disappeared and my hair felt nice after use! The scent isn't overpowering, just a subtle fragrance. Even though I have a fragrance allergy, it didn't cause any irritation, so I'm happily using my second bottle. It's been tough finding a shampoo that works well for me, but I think I'll keep repurchasing this one. The price is a bit on the high side, and the packaging could use some improvement. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 17, 2021
It lathers up nicely and gives me the feeling that my scalp is getting healthier. I really like that! The price is a bit wicked, haha. Also, the scent isn't very strong, so when I sweat, it quickly starts to smell like body odor, unfortunately. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 31, 2021
It lathers well, has good cleansing effectiveness, and doesn't leave my hair feeling dry after rinsing. After washing, my hair feels dry, but my scalp still feels oily. It doesn't seem suitable for oily scalps. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 19, 2021
I was hesitant at first, but after seeing the positive reviews, I bought two and now share them with my family. Here's what I love: 1. The lather is rich and envelops your hair softly 2. It has a lovely fragrance that lingers even after blow-drying 3. Hair feels smooth when brushing, and you can skip conditioner if you want Unfortunately, it's a bit harsh on my scalp. It feels like it's coating my hair in an odd way. I felt a burning sensation, but I thought it would get better if I kept using it. However, my scalp became itchy and I noticed some bumps forming. I had to stop using it. Interestingly, when I asked my family members who are also using it, they said it works fine for them. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedMay 4, 2021
The texture isn't watery, but more gel-like, and the scent is pleasant. The best part is that I've hardly experienced any scalp flaking during seasonal changes while using this. Previously, during stressful periods or seasonal transitions, my entire scalp would peel, leaving me to gently comb out the flakes with a fine-toothed comb - it was a nightmare. It wasn't exactly dandruff, but more like my entire scalp was shedding its outer layer, which was incredibly stressful. However, after using this shampoo for about 8 months, I haven't experienced this issue at all. I've tried other chemical surfactant-free and silicone-free products like Organist Seaweed Shampoo before, but this one is by far the best. Despite experiencing more work-related stress and poor eating habits during these 8 months, I'm amazed that my scalp hasn't flaked at all. It doesn't lather much, so those with thick hair like me end up using more product. For better lather, try working up a foam in your hands before applying it to your hair. If you apply the product directly to your head and try to lather there, it won't foam up as well. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 23, 2021
I'm on my third bottle of repurchasing this product. I haven't found anything better for itching, oiliness, odor, and hair loss. I used to have a healthy, steel-like scalp (could use any drugstore shampoo without issues), but due to stressful work life, I started experiencing occasional seborrheic dermatitis, which has now become chronic. ✔️ Current condition: seborrheic dermatitis, oily scalp Depending on the shampoo, my scalp condition would fluctuate between heaven and hell, and my hair was falling out like crazy. But after using Ahava, I've seen tremendous improvement. Most oily scalp shampoos still leave you feeling greasy by mid-morning, right? With this one, I feel fresh even into the afternoon. Personally, I find it has great cleansing power and rich lather, yet it's gentle and not too drying. The hair doesn't feel too stiff either, so I've been skipping conditioner. It's been a huge help with itching and scalp odor. I even recommended it to someone with very particular needs, and they were so satisfied that they purchased the full-size product! However, I do notice some tolerance building up, so I use one bottle, switch to something else, then come back to it (I can feel when tolerance starts to develop). A scalp care specialist advised against using the same shampoo for too long. The price is the downside. The small volume means you go through it quickly. The scent is close to a floral musk, which might feel heavy in summer. I usually dislike musk scents, but I absolutely love this one. For alternative shampoos, I recommend Raus for oily hair, Dr. Groot anti-hair loss shampoo, and Organist shampoo. Pro tip: Store the bottle upside down to easily use every last drop.
